This video is hard to follow and feels like as the viewer, you need to know certain chunks of uncommon knowledge to know whats going on. It feels as though points are glossed over very quickly, theres very little visual distinguishing of each prefecture geographically and theres way too much text on the screen which completely splits the focus between reading and listening. I know im being very harsh but ive always wanted to learn about the prefectures and a video like this is a great opportunity to get a base understanding of them to gain some direction in my researching of the subject. I love your content and mean no offence in my critisisms.
Yeah you're right I'll be careful next time But now that I'm done drawing the maps and background, I could probably spend time making more in depth shorts about each prefecture Thanks for the feedback 👍
Neat, I still gained a lot from this video fyi. Thanks bro :) Also chill with the American state references they bare no meaning to the rest of the world 😂
I get you. Even though I know where all of the prefectures are, I still had hard time following the video. I think it would be helpful at the beginning of each prefecture, point where it is on the map of Japan.
Idk I quite like the format, and I feel like it was moreso designed for people who already have a basic understanding of each prefecture and some things about them
this was great :D also, funnily enough I'm gonna be living in Katsushika in Tokyo, which one of my friends from Chiba acknowledges as basically Chiba...but jokes on him, at least I can flex my postcode starting with 1.
One month ago I used Google Street View to go all the way through Hokkaido from Kikonai in the south to lake Saroma in the north, and it really does look mega-empty. Forests and farms everywhere.
The Aichi take tickled me because I just saw the craziest accident in a minute, and it was in Nagoya. Still love Aichi-ken. Chicago drivers also still take the cake so perhaps I was deluded in my thinking "At least it's not as bad as Chicago." lmao
Yeah there's some great stuff here and i can tell you did a lot of work. Maybe simplify the references that people might not get. If it is a Japanese phrase explain what it is for people with no background knowledge. Keep it up, i will look for part 2
favorite prefecture is definitely Okinawa, your take of Kanagawa prefecture being the only authentic one is hilarious because that's how I view Okinawa
3:10 at least they don’t have stupid “Ohio” meme if you know what I mean. (Btw Ohio memes were funny 2 years ago but it’s still alive somehow bc gen alpha)
Is Hokkaidou very influenced by the asian continent? My Japanese teqcher said me that they have been influenced by Russian architecture and the food is more cattle than fish
You'd be surprised by how different Hokkaido used to be, Before the "modernization" of Hokkaido, rural areas used to speak a Japanese dialect that was like half Russian half Japanese There's this story I've read where a Japanese American who've only spoken Japanese with his family tried to talk with a Japanese tourist, but the guys Japanese was unintelligible to the tourist. He then found out that his ancestors were from rural Hokkaido back in the 1900s and the language he was speaking was a near extinct Japanese dialect that closely resembles Russian I'm not really sure if the cattle culture or the achetecture is inspired by the Russians, It could just be a result of the environment or modernization
Belgium's Alabama is a city called Charleroi. It's also ugly, boring, kinda dangerous, full of junkies and has mini versions of itself surrounding it that are worse is their own special ways. Nobody likes Charleroi
Unfortunately Canada doesn't acknowledge anything else exists in it besides Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal. It's hard for me to say which province is the "Alabama"... I mean first to mind might be New Brunswick if you're talking a rural place known for so much Bay of Fundy salmon, but maybe that makes them more of a "Georgia". If you want to know which province most other Canadians don't like besides those who come from it, it's obviously Quebec. Like I've heard people from there both proudly call themselves Quebecois, and then outsiders insultingly call them "a goddamn Quebecois" at the same time. It's mostly because of how French language is supposed to be more spoken there. But the problem is that the Quebecois French dialect is so drawly that most people from France can't stand them. You're also likely to encounter individuals who pretend to not know English to tourists because they want to test and see if you can speak French as minimal of "oui, non, and merci", then you'll hear them speaking fluent English to someone else moments later. I mean I've been there a few times growing up, it's got great skiing, food, and interesting historic architecture, but the bad seeds of there need some lessons in modesty and humbleness. And that maybe Canada having two official languages isn't a great idea, since anyone outside of Quebec won't know a word of French.
I read this and I can already hear my Québécois friend saying “Cope” to all the haters. Note: I have no stake in this rivalry. I just find it funny to watch my friend from Ontario and my friend from Quebec argue with each other. It’s hilarious.
If Alabama means backwards and dirt poor then the the Alabama of my country (denmark) is probably "Lolland". It has some of the lowest income and population in the country. It is also known for nothing at all other than the name that makes you Laugh Out Loud. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lolland
