A major hurricane means the best protection is to drive to the other coast. The hurricane Scott handled shifted from one coast to the other. Scott had the Florida Highway Patrol escorting tanker trucks for the gas stations as if they were fire trucks. People had to drive back and forth across the state for days -- and they could because they didn't run out of gas. And banks' ATM machines did not run out of cash.
