I hope they don’t change it into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. I love the Song of the South version and I like the laughing place. I hope the fix the problems in the laughing place.
It’s happening. The woke nation has succeeded into guilting Disney to close down one of its best rides for representation. And listen - I’m ALL FOR a black Disney princess, it’s WAY overdue. But The Princess and The Frog? That was one of their biggest flops, and Tiana spends most of the movie as a goddamn frog. They need a new story with a NEW, fabulous black princess. The black Ariel doesn’t bother me at all, it’s a revision of the animated movie. But they didn’t need to take away Splash Mountain. No one was offended for over 30 years until people told them to be.
@Scooopity The w0ke DEIsney c-suite wanted to change this since at least the 2010s, but I believe there was alot of pushback since it's considered their greatest attraction. The knee-neck happened in 2020 and I believe DEIsney knew this would be the perfect opportunity to finally shut it down and they did just. Yes, this was rated as the theme parks' greatest attraction and they shut it down for nonsensical w0ke reasons. This is how horrible the company is today.
fun fact: i didn't know they are there until i rode that ride in 2019; i saw a weasel around the area in front of the hen sitting under the rainy umbrella
I was at Disneyland last week and I thought it was the Mandela effect. I remember there being two eagles or whatever those birds are in hats as well as the dog spinning in the boat. But when I went on the ride there was one bird and the boat didn't move. Glad to have eased my brain
Does anyone know if the pig that accompanied the band was in the ride when it opened? Or was it removed before opening? Because I've only ever seen it in promotional material.
A thing I noticed is that one of the female voices from the band seems to have been either removed or drastically had the volume reduced in the late 90s. You are able to hear it in the first few clips but I didn’t hear it after the 2000 clip. It is also noticeable in the soundtrack. But not in recent footage of the ride.

At least all the animatronics are working, but brer bear hardly moves and his speaker is muffled, the dog boat is static, and none of the geysers are working. Plus the lights on laughing brer rabbit and the laughing place band are out.

I remember 15 years ago when I thought Rapunzel was going to be black because I got Tangled mixed up with The Princess and the Frog.

Yeah, I think that was the hen voicebox that they turned off. Idk why though, I thought it added more personality to the song.
