I know a guy who used to be a cop in Canada. I can't remember if it was very late 1980's or very early 1990's but I do remember that in a very short amount of time during the spring of one of those years, 5 people had been "permanently ended" and several others seriously injured during high speed pursuits initiated by police officers. Four of the five were young male Riders, and one was a 17 year old female passenger. No other crimes were associated with the chases; they were not fleeing robberies or anything like that, they just knew they would have their bikes impounded, receive massive fines, and lose their license for excessive speeding. Those lives were ended permanently for essentially nothing. While it's quite easy to sit back and suggest that they brought it on themselves, then I'd just ask if you could look back to your younger years and not find fault? Had those people not been chased, they would have never pushed their bikes and themselves beyond their limits in an effort to evade. Because some individual police officers just couldn't let their ego's be bruised, those young people were pushed beyond their limits and the result was having firefighters shovel what could be found of their remains into bags and the rest hosed off into a ditch. Did they really deserve that for speeding? If you do believe so, then that's your opinion and it likely won't be swayed. Anyways, I can tell you that the "rumor" I heard was that police were quietly mandated to no longer chase bikes that did not immediately pull over when lit up. (no official policy ever existed though) I hope that most cops still use this common sense method of policing and do not put lives at risk over a speeding ticket..

There is a video on Youttube, of this white Challenger that leaves the cops and Chopper in the dust. Was not even close. Challenger was running 150mph+
Finally an honest video. If you see these clips on RUclips you might think everybody that runs either dies or gets caught, while in reality police only solves about 20% of all crimes and a lot of people get off, especially on motorcycles. As long as they keep their cool and don’t take crazy risks.
You can literally watch him take a right turn at that intersection because at 16:38 you can watch him slip right through our line of sight in the direction the helicopter is traveling. Quite hilarious until they notice him again. It all ended up being because of the helicopter's bad positioning that he got away. Although it is reckless driving and should never be done, the motorcyclist did an excellent job evading in a safe manner throughout the chase.
Yea, but if you focus on the intersection, it's almost impossible to see him as he's a black dot on a gray background. Very hard to notice in a flying heli with alot of noise, trying to focus on almost every spot in the camera to identify movement. It's easy for us since we KNOW what to look for AND have backtracking in the video.
This guy was dragging ass. How he didn’t get caught is way beyond me.this guy should have hammered down. This guy was driving slow. I was like dude you have to get moving

Not "through" SEA, but on a fast road that goes close enough to SEA to enter controlled airspace. I suggest that this applies primarily to fast sport bikes, not to fat Escalades. The moral here is that when you're heading out to troll for cops, know the important details of your turf, local police procedures and administrative rules, temporary hidey holes, etc. And above all, don't attempt cop baiting unless you are highly skilled, well informed, physically functional, and sober. It's not for squids or wanna-bes.

If he had realized a helicopter was observing him at the beginning, he could have got away much sooner. There were several times he could have accelerated and left the helo behind.
His relative skill level and control of the situation hints to me that he was fully aware of the chopper all the time. What's more, riding as efficiently as he was, at way less than WFO, the rider was conserving fuel, while the chopper pilot was burning his at a high rate in order to maintain visual. I wonder what the comparative fuel ranges are for a typical copper chopper and say, a Hyabusa or 1000RR, at lessay 120 mph.
@@hardlybentspoke1506 At a steady speed of 120mph on level ground, my ZX-10R gets around 30mpg. You can go pretty fast on backroads, but every turn could be the end of your life. Never know if you'll hit something at night or another car since the roads are not wide and barely enough room for two cars to pass. Not a lot of room for error.
The video ended too early...the heli was still pursuing him. Idk why they didnt just leave like 3 more minutes up, they probably officially called it off but we have no way of knowing that

why is breaking the law so reveared now days?
oh I know, theres nothing but trash on tv & social media.
I've heard a lot of stories of people outrunning a helicopter. That also means there were no wrecks and not much to show from the helicopters view so they usually just dont release the footage. A lot of modern day performance cars can go faster than common helicopters can fly. We don't use apache attack copters to chase civilians being stupid lolol
I think Apaches are actually slower than civilian helicopters.😂😂😂
There is a video on Youttube, of this white Challenger that leaves the cops and Chopper in the dust. Was not even close. Challenger was running 150mph+
most people dont realize that police helis top out at around 120-140mph. pretty slow considering
Finally an honest video. If you see these clips on RUclips you might think everybody that runs either dies or gets caught, while in reality police only solves about 20% of all crimes and a lot of people get off, especially on motorcycles. As long as they keep their cool and don’t take crazy risks.

Yes, and our reactions, muscle control, vision, hair, woodies, etc. all go downhill after about age 22.

You can't evade a chopper when you are dead because you got hit by a car while running a red light at 100 mph, being careful is the way to go, and know the area, helps a lot

the speed reading from the chopper view is so accurate! (16mph to 75mph) within 0.15seconds

thats the radar bouncing back and forth between objects gives inaccurate speeds. Heli speed is in kts on top left
And ever since this video was published, every criminal in Seattle knows that they have to drive through Seatac to evade a police chase. Congrats!

Running from US cops on a motorcycle should be an Olympic event. It's the most exciting sport I know.
That is with the bike in full power mode and tuned specifically for maximum performance on ethanol free 93 octane fuel.
I have the medium power map configured a bit leaner throughout the whole range and dialed the timing back a bit, resulting in a couple extra mpgs.

Nope they are not, helicopter had to divert since they were approaching a fly restricted area. Dude was heading toward the airport, so by the time they arrive to his last known location he woul´ve been long gone !
So, apparently you failed to observe that the road led under a dense tree canopy, from which the bike never emerged. Even as we speak, he's still down there sipping on a beer, smiling and planning his next cop baiting trip.
