No matter how many times I watch this, I am ALWAYS amazed that you can't hear the dance in anyone's voice. They dance for over three full minutes, full-out, then finish out the song. While dancing. Astounding.

Several years ago Sutton was our guest artist for a big Christmas concert. She and her husband came out and spent the week with our group for final rehearsals and performances. She is absolutely as nice and genuine as she appears to be on screen. I only wish we had had a tap number so she could have shown off her dance skills!

Check out the same number back in 2011 but with the full cast and at a press event in a rehearsal hall: In Rehearsal: Sutton Foster Sings "Anything Goes." Just seeing everyone in their own dance clothes, moving around tape markings on the floor, and Sutton singing her heart out before AND AFTER the full dance number is just incredible.

My first reaction was “I wish I could fly to England just to see this live. Damn!” I never got to see her do this on Broadway and wish I could have. I think the British promo number was done in one take, lip-synched, and with a lot of cameras. You can’t fake the angle of the sun in an outdoor performance, and that was clearly done live on a morning show.
I actually thought she looked *better* with her natural hair color in 2021 than she did with the blond wig in 2011.

Thanks for another great video and thank you for your positivity - so many channels go down the negativity route and I love that you don’t and that any criticism you make is thought out and explained. In a world of negativity this is a joy - and now more than ever we need musical theatre.
On a separate note, I came across a movie that May pique your interest if you have not already seen it. To set it up. What could be better than a Christmas movie; a Christmas musical. How can you make that even better? A Christmas musical set in a Zombie apocalypse (a zombie, Christmas musical if you will) - “Anna and the Apocalypse”. Interesting film with what I found to be nice catchy songs. Worth a brief watch at the very least.

I'm not sure if anyone has said but this performance was part of promotion for 'Anything Goes' coming back to the West End. Performer Georgie Ashford is part of the new cast and vlogging some of her time so it's super exciting!!!!!

I was such a huuuuuuuuge fan of her ‘11 Tony award performance I scored tickets to her West End debut and I absolutely agree about Britain and their love of musical theater When I can’t score tickets in New York I always can get great seats in West End theatre. Sutton Foster is a national treasure

Could you do a reaction to the first song in In the Heights? You would like that too.

The One Show is a show of current topics of the week whether it’s news, sport or programmes that will be shown shortly on on the BBC when stars come into the studio have a wee chat with the hosts.

    She had six nominations already.
Also Anything goes is going to be revived and opened in West End tomorrow with Sutton foster as the lead.
I mean 46 and still able to tap dance and belt is just amazing.
Really hope that West End can make a professional shooting of the whole show on stage. She is really a once in a life time actor and the world will lose so much if this is not on screen.

I had the privilege of getting to see her with Hugh Jackman in The Music Man. It was amazing. Such a diverse crowd. Broadway people, like me, were there for Sutton and the rest were there for Hugh. They were both phenomenal though.

Have you looked at anything from Evita? A critique of Madonna’s version vs a stage version maybe? Film interpretations of stage musicals are always interesting. So glad I found your channel. 😍🇬🇧

@@MarcDanielPatrick which one did you do awhile back? A quick scroll thru your channel, I see Nicole Scherzinger sing Don’t Cry for Me Argentina (not is a stage version, just the song) but nothing on his request for Madonna, film or stage Evita. Did I miss the one you did awhile back or did one of your videos on those things get pulled? Please clarify bc I’m searching & not finding what you supposedly did awhile back pertaining to his request - thx

This was an advert for Anything Goes which is at the Barbican in London. Sutton has replaced Megan Mullaly. Cannot wait to see her.

Did Megan get injured or was she fired? I saw one headline she was replaced.

I think when she does that nasal thing in her vocals, (in these OLD songs) she's channelling Merman's delivery from the 1936 movie.
Many years ago, I saw GINGER ROGERS in a touring revival with Sid Ceaser in 81 (I think!) It wasn't pretty... but it was fun to see her on stage.
