  • I found this beautiful dresser at a local estate sale and gave it a new gorgeous look. And wow was there a prize for me inside! Lol. I mastered spraying chalk paint with my gun (the correct way!), demonstrated how to use gilding wax and finally got to use my favorite color…. Purple!
    Special thank you to That Shabby Guy for helping me with my spray gun! Follow his channel on RUclips to see some amazing furniture flips!

    I did fall in love with the piece when it was white but I really thought you lost the beauty of this piece with that color. It turned out beautiful, do you know the names of the type of hardware on the drawers.

    Another gorgeous piece. Would it be possible to get this professional finish with a brush instead of a spray gun?

    • @SabsRehabs
      @SabsRehabs  3 года назад +1

      Yup! To get mininmal brush strokes dampen your paint brush with tap water to start and have a water mister handy to keep your brush and/or pieces misted down while you work the paint on. I show the process in my purple vanity video.

    How do you clean a waxed piece? I cleaned one of mine with normal household cleaner and the wax came off!? Help!

    • @SabsRehabs
      @SabsRehabs  2 года назад

      Dry dust with a lint free cloth. If you have a stubborn or sticky spot wipe with a very damn cloth.

    Did you close the drawers while still wet? I’m going to try this method.

    • @SabsRehabs
      @SabsRehabs  3 месяца назад

      Yes, you can as long as the drawers slide in and put good and don't rub on the body of the dresser

    I like it a lot I am a new subscriber and I would love to see in some of your future videos a break down of how much the piece cost how much you suggest selling it for and how much time you spend on it (hours) and how much in materials you have it it if that is possible plus you do fabulous work wow ...

    Hello from the UK. Love the colour you chose. I paint furniture and I find if I use a larger nozzle I have to move the gun quicker. Maybe you could give it a go.

    Love it! Is spraying actually better than using a brush? Or if I sand can I still get a smooth finish? You're amazing furniture artist and I love learning from you!

    • @SabsRehabs
      @SabsRehabs  3 года назад +2

      If you don't like brush strokes then spraying is the way to go. There is none at all and you get a super smooth finish. Hand painting you can get minimal brush strokes by watering your paint down some and sanding in between coats, but you will still have some.

    The whole point of chalk painting is not having to sand it???

    • @SabsRehabs
      @SabsRehabs  Год назад +1

      Noooo..... the point of chalk paint is to have paint specifically made for furniture that doesn't require primer. I, however, still prime
