There is a 4WD Camaro at "My Mechanic" in Livonia, MI. It's displayed out front during business hours. AND we have a shop in Ypsilanti that has two 4WD C3 Corvettes.
It is full of shit. There is NO possible way they would be Museum Quality? But then again, they could have peiced together parts of highlights of a longer period of time for a series of one? or two? shows and Bullshitted everyone on the time.
I call b******* on the prices. Especially 75k in. ragged condition. But I did not see the whole show maybe there was something special about those two.
Recently, Richard decided to sell those firebirds for one final time though I don't know how much those sold for or when they were sold? Though whomever was lucky enough to buy those, if sold, certainly have something that's one of those once in a lifetime type cars.
RICHARD , Does that for the show. Do you think the mechanics Richard hires dont fix the cars BETTER then your back yard mechanic ... They fix them Right...NONE of them come back...
Well yeah they're made to "wow" you on first impression, but with those week long builds they can't really fix anything properly. Simply put, most of the time they're out for a quick buck.
You can't compare to some shows like Overhaulin and Kindig Customs and the Guild restoring show forget the name. It's certainly much better than West Coast Customs which is just a bunch of aftermarket products slapped on. It's very entertaining which is the main thing. I like all those shows to see how they can pretty much put any engine in anything.
Imagine driving the "hi po hauler" down the street and everyone walking by sees that wondering "what the hell was that" then wondering if that was street legal or not?
I''m curious as to the present whereabouts of the green 54 Ford Mainline gasser "Monkey Business" that was built at the old GMG shop in Season 1, Episode 3.
I was at all these Barrett Jacksons in Las Vegas. Rawlings had 4 or 5 of the vehicles go across the block with the Camaro that day. Pretty sure he lost some money on a few of them. Nobody was bidding much that day
I wonder if they still have the purple people eater hands-down one of my favorites And Lord knows I would daily that day to and from work I could care less that It Only has a four-cylinder motor
If I remember, they were no1 and no2 prototypes that were supposed to be destroyed but someone their saved them and ended up being trashed until Richard bought them.
I have a car you might be interested in. 1969 Corvette ZL1 its in ruff shape, But the engine still turns. It was given to me in my teens from my grandfathers friend Kenny Rogers...been sitting for about 34 years here in South Carolina
Enjoyed the first series or so but it just got repetitive, all the guys leaving - you could tell who was the problem easily enough. The guy who ran the classic car biz was probably the one worthy of a show.
You are right to a point. Discovery does give them an option to work things out so they can keep the vehicles and or sell them. They did the same thing with Orange County Choppers
@@vegaslimoguy2376 i don't watch the actual show just some clips from time to time if they show on my feed. I actually thought maybe they would bring Aaron back for such a reunion.
Sorry, but $600K for two first gen Firebirds is madness. $120K for both would be pushing it. That Camaro 4X4 is past fugly. I'm glad I did not waste too much time on this show. It is not real world.
@@steves186 Right, but it does explain why he paid so much for those particular cars. First guy just doubled the price just because? Dude...can't do 5k increments?!? What an idiot. He could have bought Richard a ring for that much. That way he'd get a fresh supply of Gas Monkey shirts. $300k for each? Over-priced crap if it can't move at auction.
Excellent restoration in both firebirds. Genial
Right
When you high af:
“Yoooo...less buy that lifted camaro”
that hot wheel car is sick

I still think he's utterly full of shit that they restored Firebird #001 and #002 from the condition they were in to museum quality in 60 days...
I think I saw the red one coming up on one of the auctions soon.
Read these comments? LOL A world of haters.

The El Camino is being advertised for sale in the UK currently.
Probably trying to get some of his money back. We all KNOW he ain't gonna get what he OVER payed for it!!

Richard is a Richard. I wouldn’t trust the safety of their builds. He always pushes crew to rush, rush, rush and do it cheap.
He sure is , gives me the creeps would touch anything he had anything to do with with a barge pole 😳

The El Camino is in the UK for £35K on ebay!!!!

El Camino sold by The Market for £31,500 back in March
i was curious what ever Happened too the Maveric you built a while back ?

I'm sure that's a death trap I would keep that car for the drag strip imo because that doesn't have any safety precautions such like airbags

It's on auto trader at the moment for 35 grand
Damn, bought those Fbirds for 650k and sold them back for 225...guess we know what happened to the museum.
and just sold them again at Mecum for $265k
The first buyer paying over 600k got royally screwed.

What happened to the Camaro built for sonic? It was supposed to be for a commercial but I’ve yet to see it.
Hi po hauler one my favorites that had to get the hot wheels version.
What happened to the other 5,400 people?
Jim's a Titan..💪💵

All this history on Gas Monkey and not ONE second of Aron shown here.......HMMMM. Funny how that works!!

Dude ripped so many people with ridiculous prices to sucker...bus a car for 7gs ,puts in 7 gs and then sells them for 60 gs.
There's no way in hell a Garbage Motors manufactured chevy el camino is worth $2500, let alone over $25,000, dude got hoodwinked wth that mess....
Be quiet libby.
Fair lane “Monkey Poo” signed by Aaron for sale on FB marketplace for I think just under $40,000

Those axles are way to small for those tires
Why did those firebirds cost so much? Low number off the assembly line?
