Bronchial plexus and jugular Notch I remember learning this as a kid from How cast. It's nice to see it reiterated in combative training.

I am an anatomists, a neuroscientist, physiologist and martial artist. There is a lot of misinformation in this video. The brachial plexus is a network of nerves that carries motor and sensory signals to and from the arms respectively - nothing more. Striking the area you suggest is likely stimulating the carotid sinus at the bifurcation of the carotid artery (into internal and external branches) in the NECK. This stimulates the glossopharyngeal nerve (CN IX specifically the nerve of Hering) and causes a catastrophic drop in mean arterial blood pressure resulting in unconsciousness. Like you said, one needs to know you anatomy but also understand your physiology.

Lee is an expert at combatives training, not anatomy, physiotherapy, or biomechanics, etc. He's skilled enough to know which areas to target to produce the desired response. This isn't a video about proper anatomy but rather how to properly lessen or eliminate a threat.

The combination of muscle memory and stress testing combined with the imagination is what l find so impressive.
