Enjoyed the video. I have a facelifted 2017 Autobiography 4.4 diesel. I get about 20 MPG around town, 22 MPG when towing a 2150 KG caravan, and 36 MPG on the motorway I bought it 2nd hand with 49K miles and a full LR service history. The first thing I did after putting on a Ghost and sat tracking was to have my local LR non franchised specialist in Bury change every fluid in the car, so It had a fresh starting point. As you said service LR properly and you will get good service back.
What do you think total combined MPG is going to be? I have a preference on the 4.4 due to reliability but concerned about running costs against my Discovery 4 SDV6.
ive got a 13 plate exactly the same as yours full land rover history the 100k service is eye watering but like you absolutely love the 4x4 wouldnt change it for the world great update 👌
Thanks for the update. I had an L322 TDV8 and loved it. I am looking for a late, last model L405 Autobiography, here in NZ,but not as popular as the big Land Cruisers,so not as many S/hand available. Always gives a bit of a boost to hear your good vibes about them. Your wife is super atttractive too 😂
Enjoyed the content - I’ll soon be in the process of insurance renewal and looking to keep all options open, which company did you renew with? Cheers for any assistance you are able to provide
The best range rover is still the l322, the best luxury Range Rover is the L405. You are in one camp or the other but you appreciate both for what they are.
@ryankan1 that's assuming I don't have money to buy a new one. I do, but I preferred the older one. I Also have another Range Rover and two motorbikes. I just know what I like. Everyone has their preference, each to theor own. Not everyone spends every last drop of their money on the most expensive thing they can buy if they don't like it. As I said, I appreciate both for what they are.
@truckerphil316 yeah, I was going to put a deposit down on a 2013 4.4 sd with urban bodykit, looked at another locally, I didn't even get in it. I just saw the cabin was a jag xf and walked away. Loads of toys, but it's that old money feel and classic look. Bought the last 2012 on a 62 with factory body kit. High specced for a Westminster but just looks classy. I really had my heart set on the new shape, but a test drive of the 4.4 td had me change my mind. It was a really strange day. Timing chain also done. Only 87k on the clock in fuji white.
If your going to worry about fuel then this really isn’t the car for you fella as we own a 4.4sdv8 2014 aswell 140k and every 7-10 day’s it costs £100+ each time to fill up But again how we drive it we get 550+ miles out of it and so it goes a long way in our opinion
@@keilamking thanks for that no i can live with 100 pounds every 7 days ok . Just seeing . Love them but not stupid to buy a SVR 300 a week . But great feed back . Thanks for that .
I look at such old cars in the same way as I do steam locomotives. It’s a rich enthusiasts hobby to own a 4.4l V8 and a dream come true for oil companies to still be able to make people buy anything with an engine, be it a PHEV with an engine or this steroidal nonsense.
I’ve just bought a 2019 autobiography and love it apart from steering very light

Proper servicing and good motorway run helps a lot

I have an L405 with 32k on the clock, it's an sdv8 and I agree with what you said for the money there is nothing better!!!
I really like this style of video with you and your wife. Just a relatable, everyday couple. Very authentic, real world owners review of the car.
Best looking range rovers ever aged soo well

e sure buddy
Would love to hear your thoughts/findings going from the L322 to the L405. Ride/comfort/noise and general feel moving into the newer truck.

Unless you can afford the new ones

@timstubbs6701 I have just bought a 2014 4.4 autobiography sport. And now wish I had bought the l322 instead just so much more character about it.
I’ve just bought a 2019 autobiography and it’s amazing in every way compared to my old 4.4 tdv8
