To the people who say: "OmG iT's Dr. DeE nOt GoRiLlAz!!!!" It was originally written during the plastic beach sessions and was going to be on plastic beach, it was unreleased and damon loved it so much that he used it in Dr. Dee, and these 2 versions are COMPLETELY different, listen to this one, then the Dr. Dee version
@@harveycamilleri It was probably from Plastic Beach first, if you watch the docummentary "The Making Of Plastic Beach" Damon sings this song in a scene
@@mushroomlad6233 Saw your comments. Instead of replying uselessly with "no" you could've sent me a link to the certain part of "The Making of Plastic Beach" with that Apple Carts orchestral snippet, smartass.
Lyrics: Pull the apple carts Up from silvery hill Higher until heaven revealed On the addled dawn, respawn To great authority Singing hallelujah, hallelujah Love does reign In the kingdom of the broken heart The blackbird sings And the moon it laughs As war begins, dance Now burn the apple carts Burn them until a great fire begins To glow in the sky There beneath the stones, recharge From great austerity Raining down from above Distant is love Our disdain In the kingdom of the broken heart A blackbird sings And the sun it laughs As war begins, dance
@@philatio1744 This wasn't recorded during Plastic Beach. There are various other versions of it that were recorded during PB, but the version we hear here was ultimately a re-recording with new lyrics for Dr. Dee. But yeah, the original concept started during Plastic Beach! Same with "Tree of Beauty" from this same album, which you can hear many different early concepts for in the Plastic Beach outtakes.
So this is actually a slightly alternate version of a the song 'Apple Carts' from Damon's opera "Dr. Dee: An English Opera". It's Albarn but for a project unrelated to Gorillaz.
Love this song, only one thing though I think it would be neat for the guitar to speed up in the chorus (from the lyric "The broken Hearts" to "Dance")
THIS SONG IS SO BEAUTIFUL

Isn't Plastic Beach version is fully lost?
It's definitely not the same one as dr dee but I mean...
This is quite possibly one of my favorite songs by them now. His voice is so angelic and soothing in this...
Stu Pot it's not by gorillaz it's from Damon albarns Dr Dee album
Harvey Camilleri Ahh yeah, my mistake. I know it's for that album, but it was meant to be in sea sides!!
@@harveycamilleri It was probably from Plastic Beach first, if you watch the docummentary "The Making Of Plastic Beach" Damon sings this song in a scene
This is absolutely beautiful.
Gives me a medieval-ish feeling a bit
Exactly the same for me. I can't find out why though
Well it was done for dr dee. Maybe that’s got something to do with it?
Now that you mention it, I feel that in this, too!
i am crying this is so beautiful
This is actually a Damon Albarn song from dr Dee
It was made during the Plastic Beach sessions. Therefore being on Seasides as well.
This version of the song is different from the album version.
The song was written for plastic beach, but was scrapped and later used for Dr Dee. So it kinda falls under the umbrella of Seas Sides
For all People this is a Song from Dr.Dee damon albarn album -_-
StarShine182 True, but Damon wanted to put this song on Plastic beach. But yes, this did come from that album.
This is the Gorillaz version, if you notice Damon is using his usual 2-D pitch here.

I love finding unreleased Gorillaz tracks. They are great.
This was released here's the link

even though it's not gorillaz,it's from damon albarn's solo album "dr.dre"
They're
*dr. dee
It was made in 2010 for the Plastic Beach album, but Albarn decided to keep it and he released it for the musical "Dr.Dee" in 2014.
Lyrics:
Pull the apple carts
Up from silvery hill
Higher until heaven revealed
On the addled dawn, respawn
To great authority
Singing hallelujah, hallelujah
Love does reign
In the kingdom of the broken heart
The blackbird sings
And the moon it laughs
As war begins, dance
Now burn the apple carts
Burn them until a great fire begins
To glow in the sky
There beneath the stones, recharge
From great austerity
Raining down from above
Distant is love
Our disdain
In the kingdom of the broken heart
A blackbird sings
And the sun it laughs
As war begins, dance
SkicoNow *Silbury Hill (and this version has no third verse)
Love the simplicity of it all damon I always trust you when if comes to making new albums
I just listened to Sea Sides. Some people mentioned "Apple Carts" so I knew that I had to hear it. This was good!
This may or may not be one of my favs now
this is beautiful, i love unreleased stuff.
This is from Dr.Dee, an opera by Damon Albarn
This was recorded in the Plastic Beach sessions, but Albarn decided to leave it out and it ended on "Dr. Dee".

This song is almost haunting in a way
This should have been a bonus track on plastic beach
I think this should’ve came right after “Welcome to the World of the Plastic Beach”, then White Flag.
Either that or after/before ”Superfast Jellyfish”.
I love the unreleased stuff
Renee Richardson thanks!
Por alguna extraña razón, ya me sabía esta canción
Okay this song is awesome and relaxing I love the feel to it!
Just listen to the Dr Dee version, it’s so much more beautiful when not compressed to hell and layered with another song on the album
This actually was planned for Plastic Beach with an Orchestral version of this version
I want to cry
My fav song of all
the beginning of this song sounds EXACTLY like flowers of flesh and blood and it trips me up
Esta canción iba a estar en plástico beach pero Damon Albarn la cambio a su ópera llamada Dr. Dee
i LOVE THIS
I wonder why this is not on the plastic beach album? because this song is very cool
It's from an opera he did the music to, about a medieval alchemist named dr.dee
I’ve left the Gorillaz fandom and I’m not a huge huge fan of their music anymore but this song is the best Gorillaz song I have ever heard
So this is actually a slightly alternate version of a the song 'Apple Carts' from Damon's opera "Dr. Dee: An English Opera". It's Albarn but for a project unrelated to Gorillaz.
It was written for plastic beach, then scrapped, then being included on dr dee
actually this song is from an opera damon composed in 2012 called "dr dee" as a separate thing from gorillaz, though it is very nice
It was originally intended to be on plastic beach but was repurposed into a song for dr dee
God i love songs with medieval themes
This is a Dr.Dee song.
This reminds of "the song of the sea" I LOVE THOS
Imma be honest: I prefer this version over the dr dee version
I think this is pretty good!
The song's beginning reminded me about "I Was Me" from Imagine Dragons
I got a apple beer ad
So good
not everything damon is gorillaz lmao
Keira Jade yeah. i know right.
ivanecek tbh blur is better
Keira Jade This song was going to be on Plastic Beach but it didn't make it so that's why it says gorillaz
footcream .jpg it ended up being on dr dee though
Keira Jade Cause Damon loved it so much he but it on dr. dee
Ah the leak version of Apple Carts
I just visualize a flaming apple cart rolling down a hill surrounding by black birds
Even though it's a companion piece to plastic beach
This is, actually an unreleased song from Plastic Beach. Damon just reuse the song later.
although this being a damon albarn song, it does have a very plastic beach-y vibe
I'm assuming "sea sides" is like an unreleased D-sides for plastic beach
spooky crab but it was created with the intention of it being on Plastic Beach
spooky crab not saying you don't, but it was created for Plastic Beach and not used. Damon loved it so much he decided to use it for Dr. Dee.
this is pretty
i' m crYing
damon albarn i will do anything for you if youd just finish this song and release it properly PLEASE.
He released it in Dr. Dee
@@twanam3943He realed it, but apperantly, it's just whole diffrent version. The original one possibly has Simfonia Viva feature

This is from the Dr Dee album
Am I the only one who finds this song a bit unnerving?
this is a song from Dr. Dee not from Gorillaz

This is from Dr. Dee
This sounds like David Bowie
Dr. Dee song on a Gorillaz album? wha?
dude don't write off damon's original work as gorillaz like,,,,, just don't lol
NikkiRandomix it was created for Plastic Beach but unused, so Damon used it later for Dr. Dee.
not gorillaz but ok
not gorillaz
