Hi everyone, I hope you enjoyed this video. December is looking like it's going to be an exciting month for BG3 news, fingers crossed we get something good! 03:40 - *Former (not latter)
Every time I see any reference to "Abdel" I go into a total blackout and wake in a pool of blood... Same thing happens whenever someone mentions "male Revan and Meetra"... Weird. 乁( •_• )ㄏ Either way, no matter my feelings on ToB being a bit plot hole central, I'd rather that this character be just forgotten. It's a bit unrealistic to think *every* Bhaalspawn died by the time of Murder in BG. :/ Any reference to an Abdel should be purged. Sure, "someone" defeated Sarevok and "someone" defeated Irenicus but with the centuries, details are bound to get lost. Just bury any "canon". As an aside, I never thought you could get rid of the Dead Three that easy. I'm personally hoping they are involved with the Absolute. Would love to see them again.
This comment made me happy. The Revan and Exile shit still makes me mad if i think about it. I am super calm and can forgive a lot but knowing the odds of the true Kotor 3 never happening because of that is the worst. just stop canonizing player characters you can have a default like default male and female shepard but not canon.
@@ritaparks2811 Preach it, canonisation of player made chars is a road to disaster. I'm still miffed about the KoTOR shite too. Just leave it at "unknown hero" if you must. Send them to Akavir or whatever.
Maybe Bhaal tried it again, so there's a new lot of Bhaalspawn. Could explain the bloodlust custom characters feel in dreams, and the random barks about seeing blood, "blood comes easily these days," and so on. This might be interesting if there are many gods reusing their old tricks to thread loopholes in cosmic law, but this time with less success. It would be especially interesting if the the gods' ploys involving their spawn and chosen were anticipated and exploited by the Absolute.
@@LightStreak567 Good point. I was thinking more time had passed. I guess the PC could be one of many great-great-grandspawns or whatever, but I also hope not.
It is not called Baldur's Gate, but Bhaaldur's Gate. Do you see the subtle connection? just kidding. I'm one of those people who don't really have a problem with continuing the Bhaal saga. Accepting that the past is a closed chapter, but its consequences create ripples in the fabric of time called the future :). Don't get me wrong, I still love the information you offer and your personal thoughts as well. As long as people take the issue seriously enough, I love the engagement. 4:17 Of course there something regarding Bhaal, because it is named BG3 or else it would be called BG.
I'm pretty sure the Dark Urge is connected to Bhaal and we already know that you can get items exclusive to a Dark Urge playthrough, who's to say we won't get a Slayer transformation ability?
It wouldn't surprise me if we come across one of their children or grandchildren. It would make a nice connection to the originals. Thanks for stopping by, John.
Great video. Hope to see the Order of Eight Staves, character allowed to be KOS by Flaming Fist Guards, and tons of choice trees. Sea Cow milking Jake Skywalker, oie.
Great video, Harbs! Intrigue upon intrigue. At this point there is so much that could potentially happen that I hope Larian can capture as much as possible while giving us a deep experience. Looking forward to the 14th for more from Larian. Larian's Minsc and Boo trailer was dynamic and emotional!
I'm curious what the Dark Urges storyline will be, and if it will involve The Dead Three, and maybe even Jergal. Would be interesting if Jergal wanted his power back. I would be disappointed if they go with Bhaalspawn storyline again, it's too lazy.
New Bhaalspawn? It worked before, why not try it again? Could it be a difference of Academic vs Cultural, Academically only the first generation offspring of Bhaal are Bhaalspawn (specific template), but Culturally, if you're a descendant of Bhaal at all you're referred to as "Bhaalspawn" (variant planetouched). Kind of like a number of things irl, that are demonstrably not what their most commonly known name is, but the name sticks. "Camel Spider" is the first to come to mind off the top of my head.
Maybe something in the bloodline will bubble to the surface. If there are now Bhaal spawn spawn and so forth, remember it will be one of them that we can see? If you were to think about it like a Tiefling bloodline, where after a deal is struck with a devil or a demon a child born to that person will become a tiefling and all subsequent children in that line will become tieflings, who's to say that a grand child of Bhaal wouldn't have some sort of powers perhaps?
I dont think they will directly be there. If they follow canon (which i think was cheap but whatever) they are gone BUT Id be VERY surprised that bhaal gave up on his plan... maybe we are the new vessel for his return? After all, he simply needed to make sure that ONE spawn lived to spread the taint (or even make a deal with the mindflayers to infect specifics tadpoles with his blood vs something we dont know yet). Beside I always suspected that the absolute is simply a made up deity by the dead three to gather cultists from as many "religions" as possible for a greater purpose.
I think what that while the "Bhaalspawn crisis" is over. That does not mean all the Bhaalspawn died. I believe the crisis refers to the large scale conflicts that destroyed cities and almost caused wars by the five, Sarevok, and the PC. As for the children of Bhaalspawn, we have two examples in game. Draconis and possibly Aerie's child. It seems that they are not "Bhaalspawn" in the sense that they are his kids. But they did have Bhaal's essence, so they technically count and could in theory take slayer form. Making "Bhaalspawn" a general term for any who shared his blood as time went on. No matter how thin. As it's been about a century, there's a good chance that Bhaal's essence has spread through any survivors of the crisis like Viekang, the PC, and any others that the PC didn't kill. Bhaal could be grabbing some of his more villainous and powerful descendants to use as lieutenants. Like what he was doing with Sarevok in the non-canon 'Minsc's guide to villainy"
It would be interesting to find out that Bhaal knows, or surmises, that his divinity would forever taint the races of Faerun and that, like Angels and Devils with their respective progeny, he would create his own subrace but with a stronger tie to him and his power since he was a god. That would be so cool if your custom made character turns into the avatar in his/her dreams and/or uses ceremorphosis to bring about the change in his descendants in some sort cosmic power play to regain full divinity for the dead three or perhaps just for himself. Think about it, a whole army of Bhaal avatars running amok!
I don't think the existence of Bhaalspawn in "current times" is a problem nor a contradiction with previously established lore. After all, Bhaal came back to life with the Second Sundering, so what's stopping him getting some more spawn? His "first batch of spawn" were meant to help him resurrect after the Times of Trouble, but that doesn't mean any later spawn were endowed with the same daddy-resurrecting-essence. Especially since we now know that the Nightsong is the literal child of Selune and she doesn't have any Selune-resurrecting-essence, so why would new Bhaalspawn automatically have such essence? So I think any new Bhaalspawn are just that, literal spawn of Bhaal, without any prophecy related powers. This would circumvent the plothole of Bhaal resurrecting when Viekang and Gorion's Ward died while there are still other Bhaalspawn, since these other, new Bhaalspawn weren't created to have the magical god resurrecting juice in them. Mind you, I have NOT played a dark urge run yet, and thus I don't know any details regarding that character. All I know is what a Tav run showed me, especially in Orin's room and certain name tags of certain characters on the floor. I could put two and two together, but I don't know the specifics yet. My durge run will have to wait until my second run is finished, doing an evil Tav now.
it turns out we are the child or a hidden child of the hero of BG 1 & 2, after all he can have sex with Viconia, Aerie, jaheira, or Anomen if we are a women.
Quick question: The Bhaalspawn came about when Bhaal foresaw his death so he came to Faerun before the Time of Troubles to sow his seed, right? Well during the Time of Troubles, when all the gods were forced to walk the earth, is it possible that in that time the other gods could have sired their own children? I don't know much about DnD, but from what I've heard of the lore, this could be an interesting possibility.
I haven't watched the video because I'm trying to avoid spoilers. (thanks for the warning) But isn't asking the question (in the video title) basically answering the question? Clearly something was datamined which suggests this. So the title is kinda spoilery

In my heart my bhaalspawn lives on and is canon, Abdel is just a cheap substitute :P
I want nothing whatsoever to do with Abdel Adrian and would vastly prefer that those horrible books be forgotten.
What if we are the second generation of Bhaalspawn and the mindflayers are doing experiments to us like Irenicus was in BG2

Or, better yet, do what KoTOR 2 did and choose a gender and alignment for ease of voice acting requirements and codex entries. (◡ ‿ ◡)

New Bhaalspawn? Starting from Bhaal's revival in 1482 DR? For what reason? The player character is much older than 10 or 11 years old.

Thanks for the video as always.....Perhaps, one of the Bhaalspawns(Spawn-Spawn) Hehe.... Wound-up with a tadpole? Just food for thought. Peace

Or maybe everyone that has a tadpole are descendents of Bhaal
Well Bhaalspawn Slayer model is in the leaked data mine files so... Maybe?
Been eagerly waiting for a new video, can't wait to watch.
That's nice to hear, Mr Mirage!
Niiiice thx, i need a good video to see while i work.
