+wayfaerer320 - It's true that Greg has twice the chops (and then some) of some legendary "guitar gods." However, what the guitar gods have is HUGE HITS that have endured; some for decades. Greg ain't got any. He sure can noodle, though.
What I love about his playing is that his sense of humour comes through in it. It's virtuosic and it doesn't take everything too seriously. Hats off to the dude.
6 years ago I purchased a set of Fishman Fluence pickups for a Squier Strat I had lying around. Now I was most happy with the result until I purchased a Player Strat last year. Side by side the old Squier sounds every bit as good as the real thing. The Fluence pickups do exactly what Greg says they will do. This year my Telecaster will get the Fishman treatment. I could not be more satisfied.
Just think. I had to wait until I was 62 years old to finally hear someone invoke the descriptor-verb "shvoidle". I've been shvoidling all my life and now I have to see a specialist about it.
Loving the sound of these pups, especially in the middle position. Middle position without the boost reminds me a lot of Prince's Tele sound on his earlier records. Tasty stuff...
Good God.... I've never heard anyone play Heartbreaker THAT spot on... And effortlessly... Not to mention everything he else he plays in this video. Love that he's a Joe Walsh fan too ;)
kevin malone Greg is over the top, so it makes sense that his playing is too. He’s tasteful when he wants to be. He doesn’t go 100mph when he’s accompanying someone or playing in a band.
This is an excellent application of electronic technology on a a Telecaster that I have seen for maximizing tone and guitar playing capabilities plus no 60 cycle hum. Love it...
Really enjoy hearing the NoodleMaster play - amazing! Interesting, he is playing a Fret King Tele Country Squire model here (since discontinued) that has these pickups built in, though he doesn't mention the Fret King. Sure sounds good. Neck pu is Alnico V and bridge is Alnico IV. I bought one of these guitars based on this demo and my great past experience with Fret Kings and really like the guitar!
Ah, the button in a sense is a built in preamp acting like a clean boost? I've something similar installed on my Les Paul, but I'm able to adjust he gain on the preamp when I adjust it; I love it
+Jacob Caburian Nope. The button engages a different 'map' of the pickup - they look normal but are radically different in design - almost as mad as those Lace alumitone things. I think they build them up in layers of circuit board, or some bonkers idea like that. It's not a boost, it just happens to have a higher output, along with a different peak. Yes, I know - it sounds nit-picky but if it was a normal active pickup/preamp you could just turn up the gain - this deal gives a choice of two 'settings'. Try the Fishman page for more confusing explanations!
Love those pick ups sound great .. lovely Fret king Tele .. beautiful guitar .. I've got a Jerry Donahue Fret King .. lovely to .. great playing . They a have a lovely natural break up sound and the boost switch wow
at 5:12 is that Greg's own version of Jimi's bold as love, or inspired by someone else? Just trying to figure out the different influences for that song, it's one of my favorites to play.
The "resistor cap filter" is a high pass filter. Joe Satriani's Ibanez has it on the volume pot but it's push \ pull, it's not on 24\7. Fender has or had at least something similar, I think they just called it "Treble bleed" or something along those lines. I highly recommend putting this on your fave guitar, it works amazingly well, but I like one that can be engaged \ disengaged at will (ie. push \ pull like on Satch's Ibanez).
Gotta say..the tele pickups sound the best.. I dont know if its settings on the amp or what but the Strat I heard with these type pick ups seem to be clean on the e, b,g and d strings but over driven on the A and E up top. Is it just the way it recorded or am I right??
WOW!!! As usual, Greg shows us how absolutely amazing and gifted he is (as well as reminding all the rest of us we are only competing for 2nd place...... :)
This guy is amazing to say the least! I wish I could afford to buy his signature guitar but I'm just learning to play at 63 years old. I just purchased the Squire Bullet Telecaster today and it is a bargain to say the least. If I get better I figure I can upgrade my bullet if I live that long...Again I love Greg's playing...A master for sure.
Hi Greg, Greetings from Australia - I'm in the process of making my own Telecaster and adding your new pickups. Love the inlay on the fretboard, who supplies that can you help me please Cheers Mark
RIDICULOUS!!! THIS GUY IS MY NEW HERO! CHOPS FOR DAYS....NEVER SEE HIM PLAY THE SAME THING TWICE. NOW I NEED TO BUY ANOTHER TELE TO PUT THESE PICKUPS IN...DAMMIT!
10:32 is just sick H.T.F. does he do that? I think this is best Greg work I have seen of prob 40 videos...hey I got stuff to do! but its gonna have to wait!!! hes a kewl lick guitar-opedia
P.S. I will be gettn a tele and this rig when my ship comes in. AMAZING tone and this is from my cheap little speakers I have.....thats seriously better tone than any tele I done ever heard. and at 66 I've heard lots of teles. Imagine this in a semi hollow body tele?
Greg is so good it's sick. There are guitarists considered "Gods" by many who don't have half the chops Greg has...
Unbelievable playing.

+tswrench he has some great albums. :)
+tswrench ah, so commercial success is the measure of talent. that puts justin bieber right up there.
+imaseeker100 no one said that, duh...
GOT EEM! Hahaha!
I can't get enough of this guy's playing.
Greg has the best sense of humor of any clinician I have ever seen. And his playing is the best....
Yep hands down THE BEST NAMM product demo this year.
Man, I can watch Greg play all day. He's so musical and comfortable around the fretboard.
What I love about his playing is that his sense of humour comes through in it. It's virtuosic and it doesn't take everything too seriously. Hats off to the dude.

Curious if you got the pickups and, if so, how do you like the Tele set?
An absolute master on guitar.
Yeah, I can't think of anyone I have ever seen who can exhibit such mastery across so many (vir. all) techniques.
Just think.
I had to wait until I was 62 years old to finally hear someone invoke the descriptor-verb "shvoidle".
I've been shvoidling all my life and now I have to see a specialist about it.
freakin' unbelievable playing, as always!
+Rocco Pezzin A freakin shred-seizure from 13:20-15:45 ,... love that Funk-49 break in the middle :)
+ernie12man You are so right 👍
Shame on me i dont know Greg Koch but what i hear is Awesome.Great Guitar Player!
My Grandpa Rocco played guitar! passed away in 1968 he was from Reggio Calabria
What a cool dude Greg is and a player from another dimension. Fishman folks couldn’t have chosen a finer man to represent them. Hats off guys.
The Bold as Love passage was awesome. Love it.
I don't know what is more awesome, Greg's way with words or his way with a Telecaster.... :)
We just laid my Aunt Josephine Hebert to rest at 97 yrs young. Her husband was Ernie Hebert from Montana
Greg is easily in my top 5 favorite guitarist of all time.He is truly one of a kind and fucking hilarious.Hoorayyyy! :)
Loving the sound of these pups, especially in the middle position. Middle position without the boost reminds me a lot of Prince's Tele sound on his earlier records. Tasty stuff...
How to demo a product at Namm! Not rushed and you get a proper feel for what they have done.
This guys speech though, priceless. I always sit , listen and enjoy when Greg Koch is on.
Whenever I think I've reached a new level of playing, I'll watch Greg play...His "Musical Madness" will make me want to practice till my fingers bleed
There is only one Greg Koch and I love that guy!
That's the best middle position on a Tele I've ever heard
Good God.... I've never heard anyone play Heartbreaker THAT spot on... And effortlessly... Not to mention everything he else he plays in this video. Love that he's a Joe Walsh fan too ;)
I can't think of a single guitarist who so effortlessly strides so many styles of guitar. Sick!
sick playing and cool tones
This technology is like 4K, but for audio. It sounds INCREDIBLE!
Greg can sure put some fire on those strings! Outstanding as always!
Thanks for sharing!
Greg is a great guitarist but his playing leaves me a little cold. So, I'm building a bonfire in my backyard using all of my guitars........
vuduhwy funny
Best. Comment. Ever!
Great player he is although a bit over the top for me
kevin malone Greg is over the top, so it makes sense that his playing is too. He’s tasteful when he wants to be. He doesn’t go 100mph when he’s accompanying someone or playing in a band.
you had us in the first half i'm not gonna lie
Quality and awesome .... only one Mr Koch
Shcmoydel scwoonk and thwack are all new guitar terms I have learned today. Thank Gregory Kochery you are a genius of monumental scale.
5:15
its just a marker for the awesome bold as love version which i want to learn :D
greg is great and i love the snarl he adds when playing billy gibbons licks.
Unbelievable guitar player that makes everything look easy when he plays and funny through his talking.
Very nice pickup demo and Neck inlay; and unbelievably awesome playing.

4:38 any body got the tabs or the name of this tune he's playing?
Really starting to appreciate Greg's playing. What a monster!
His playing is like having a philosophical conversation between an alien, Hendrix, and Les Paul telepathically. I'm here for it.
How would one install a humbucker and single coil bridge in a tele from Fishmans fluence line??
And the giant is even getting better! Djeezes. Guess I'll start practising my scales again! Hope he comes to Belgium soon!
Gotta love Greg, he's so interesting, tasteful, funny, and just plain guitar-God like.
I watch product demo stuff i'm not even interested in to see this guy play hes so OH MY GOD good.
+Danny Dine Please don't get me wrong i mean the product is GREAT its just that i got everything i need and i love listening to him play.

Both nuclear AND steam power inside that guitar. Truly, and engineering miracle!!!
Awesome demo. Fantastic.
Can anyone tell how he get his overdriven sound? It would be thanksful to let me know what amps or stomp boxes were used in this vid.
I like that neck inlay heartbeat thing, Overall a fine guitar awesome pick ups awesome tone and an awesome player to make it sound tickles
What's the riff song that he play on 9:54 ?
At 68 years of age and after watching Greg once again I think it's time to say "I give..."
He'll still be smilin' when the devil comes to collect his soul! Hot damn!
Richard Leonard lets hope heaven invites him instead
@@thankfullife7968 right over your head haha

See, that's what happens when a person practices for many hours.
This made me want to buy the pickups and I don't even have a Telecaster :-)
That was a legit performance!
this guy is a monster. what a great guitar player
What a great guitar player this man is and so entertaining with it.
Yes
what's he playing at 4:40?

Anyone knows what's the song at 4.39 to 5.13? Sorry I'm italian and Greg say something like Skullduggery...... thanks chaps
Schpoidle! New word for the day!
Can you use these with the Limited Edition Brent Mason Signature Telecaster?
Poopenheimerschmidt FTW! Greg at his best!
Superb, I'm actually building a Tele so I will save up for a set of these. Playing skills....speechless.
I have these, I also have the jimmy page tele….love the jimmy page, love my import tele with the gristle tone better!
Absolutely an incredibly talented, imaginative, jucy player...amazing!
WOW!!! As usual, Greg shows us how absolutely amazing and gifted he is (as well as reminding all the rest of us we are only competing for 2nd place...... :)

Fire wood..trade it in get a real tele..
How the FCK does he do the alien sound at 14:45?
Can you mix-n-match pickups? I have a Tele 'nashville deluxe' which is Tele/Strat/Strat pickup config.
Is it possible to buy this Fret King Model? Which one is it?
Anybody know what amp he is playing ?
Greg could play so well out of the womb his catholic parents named him appropriately
Greg Hasa Magnificent Koch
Master of the Tele! Amazing technically and musically.
Anyone know who the Richie is that Greg refers to regarding the tone of the middle pick up? Kotzen?
Love that fretboard!
wow...had not seen this video before. Absolute wizard on the Tele...and entertaining whew. Fishman has to be bustin their buttons over this promo.
Hi Greg, Greetings from Australia - I'm in the process of making my own Telecaster and adding your new pickups. Love the inlay on the fretboard, who supplies that can you help me please Cheers Mark
That "Heartbreaker" solo was unbelievable
Anyone know the tune at 4:45 onward? epic
I actually attended this event at NAMM and asked Greg the same question. He told me it was a song he wrote called Spanish wine
Such a fantastic player and really entertaining.
A true entertainer all levels
Any guitar will sound good on his hands
13:02 someone please tell me what the is! It's killing me because i should know it!

Can u ask Greg what he was playing during the Smallbox demo u guys did at namm channel 1? ;) it sounded great.
amazing.
What kind of telecaster is that?
absolute fusion of man and beast (tele)
I love watching Greg but seriously don't even see the point in playing after watching him. So bittersweet!!!
Thats all he does..do it 8 -10 hours a day you'll be good too
Greg Koch is a beast! I love him sooooooo much!!!! 😍 Great pickups to 😉
What distortion pedal is he using???
