Amazing runs. That monster manipulation at 0:51 is underappreciated. The parts that blew my mind are the phoenix rod jump in E2M4 and the key grab in E3M2, and the wobble-glide in Quay. I had no idea that was even possible. The Great Stair was insane from start to finish.

Haven't watched DraQu's yet, but I did see Xiae's 1:54:50 yesterday, and I'll be honest: Technically it's faster, but the playing style is much different. Looking forward to you getting the title back and watching more runs.
The first game Raven made on the Doom engine. Cheap on Steam, runs on anything more modern than a Pentium Pro (in fact it ran swimmingly well on those), and if you've got a decent source port (gzdoom does the trick) it gets mouselook and all the other bells n whistles you wouldn't have had back in the (early) 90s.
Now the madman is playing Heretic! That is amazing! You do have some great skills. I mean, you finished E1M1 under 30 secs (never could beat that fast, best time around 40, a bit +, a bit -) and you also know how to keep momentum after stepping into a teleport (for some reason I always trigger it at E1M6 but in other maps I don't manage to perform it) Anyway, congratulations to the master. Would be really cool to see more non-Doom stuff in the future. Greetings

Watching this makes mme appreciate the level design in Heretic more. There's so many little fun non-secret areas in a given level that aren't necessary for progression but not too many to where it gets confusing. I kinda want to give it another replay, now.
i personally love this game more than Doom. I think is because of the magical theme. It's interesting to see how the use of items plays an important role on the run. That leads me to think that maybe a solo run of a level is slower than running that same level on a full run. i know your name from Karl Jobs channel. keep on making runs of Heretic please :)

Good stuff, I'd even say excellent stuff :D Heretic was always my favourite of the original Doom engine bunch. Hexen speedrun would certainly be interesting for the sequence breaks... but maybe Quake or a Build game could do it too... Anyway, good run, can see you're not quite as intimately familiar with the maps as Doom but hot damn you still finish episodes in less time than it takes me to do most of the levels.

I often watch Dwars for all Hereric content and Zero Master just did the base five episodes in one go 😂. I believe he’s not unfamiliar with Raven since I saw him do a speedrun for Hexen at one point.

Heretic is so underrated in my opinion. It's a total classic that never seems to get the respect it deserves. It's fun to this day.

Played episode 4 5 for the first time a few days ago and still absolutely smashes it
It is very impressive. Played this for almost 20 years and I have heaps of trouble in episodes 4 and 5, they are very difficult.

This might be the coolest doom clone, at least that ive played. This game deserves some more attention
not a clone but a major improvement & its sequel HeXen is even better , _way_ better (imo)

Enemies in Heretic seem way more annoying to runs then Doom's enemies do at least, until you get the wings item lol. This was awesome to watch!

Best part is, I can see small mistakes that cost like a second at most. I couldn't do any better at all but Zero can and will.
