Aaliyah truly was unique. She was supremely naturally talented, so she definitely lived up to the meaning of her name. One of the many things I love about her is that she didn't limit herself to one music or film genre. She wanted to transcend boundaries. She wanted to challenge herself. I respect any artist who refuses to be typecast. And to be honest, I still mourn for her.

There were sooooo many things that could have prevented their deaths. It will always bother me so much. I remember that day so vividly when I heard the news. I had a pretty messed up day and then a family member came and told me the news. I couldn't eat or feel happy for weeks. Her 'One In A Million' album was the first CD I bought with my own money. I played that CD everyday like someone would read the Bible. I still miss her prescense in the world.
