Hi Priscilla, my husband and I just watched your video. We are born and raised in Corpus, and you nailed it. Your suggestions and descriptions are great. Great video! I was born in Corpus, live there and got married there also. The wife and I live in East Tennessee now and we bought our home in the Cherokee National Forst on a mountain this to us is the most beautiful place I have ever seen. With mountains, rivers, and creeks. and four seasons you can not ask for more. It's a must-visit place. I think your family will fall in love with this place. Thanks for the great video.

Good Job, Priscilla. We'll be heading to CC next month, my wife loves the beach, I like good seafood and hitting a pub or two. I like San Antonio, I'll check out your videos. I'm now subscribed. Keep up the good work. (We'll see if we can make it to Snoopy's.)
I lived on North Padre island on a canal home years ago. My business took me all over the US, but I've always missed it. I love fishing and eating fresh seafood as well. I see Corpus Christi as a big town/small city. I've lived in a mostly large metro area so, that has its own appeal.
I recommend going to Malaquite Beach State Park. Its a beautiful beach a little further that Mustang Island. You do have to pay a fee to get in. But it does have some of the most beautiful beaches
Has somebody that been born and raised in porpoise all their life I really enjoyed this video because I'm not going to lie there's so many things you could do here in Corpus especially if you have family and also anybody that is here now I just want to say welcome to Corpus and I hoped you enjoyed your stay or if you're enjoying your stay as of right now
No problem and you're welcome it's just nice to see people talk about Corpus Christi and what there is to do I'm not going to lie is somebody that's lived here there's some days run like there's so much to do and there's just some days where I'm like what should I do but I guess that's what it's like when you're in one place for so long
Elizabeths at the Art Musueam (Mediterranean food) and the Executive Surf Club! Goldfish for a drink! Shelby makes the best cocktails and Nueces Brewing (kids and dogs welcome) for a great bear. Hesters is a must! Bellino's, Tannin's, The Post, BKK Tai these are in Lamar Park. Bay Jammin Concert Series in Cole Park, June - August. They do a free Thursday night concert, and a free Friday night family movie, bring chairs or a blanket, snacks and enjoy. Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra at the University. I could go on for days about our lovely little corner of the world. 🥰There is a great bar called the Grand View Lounge at the top of the Best Western that has an amazing panoramic view of the marina.
Thank you. It looks like a beautiful spot. We are on our way to Magnolia Beach from Mission and are hoping to find a spot to park our motor home on a beach. It doesn't look like that will happen near Corpus Christi. But you description was GREAT. Thank you.
Great video❣️ I highly recommend The executive surf 🏄♀️ club. They have GREAT batter dipped fries, burgers 🍔 and even a 🍤 shrimp burger 😋. It is downtown. Also, when I used to live there, on Wednesday night you could watch some sailing ⛵️ races… for free just at the T- heads… loads of fun 🤩. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.♥️
Great video! I live in Corpus and ran across your video. Loved it! Just wanted to say that North Beach is not a man made beach. It is a great place to hang out for the day.
Hi Priscilla! Thanks A Million for the info. Do you have any videos on places to stay in Corpus Christi? Looking for something beach front on a budget 🤔 And additional fun activities for children e.g. water parks
Hi there! So glad you found the video helpful. We usually stay at Lively Beach which is beachfront. Otherwise we've just stayed at waterfront properties (not beach front) at vrbo type rentals. We haven't been to any water parks recently but check through the comments on here. I believe a viewer mentioned one. Thanks for visiting my channel!
idk if this is any helpful to add on trips but theres a really pretty and cozy french bakery is called Bien Mérité!! as a born and raised teen in corpus i love going there when im given the chance ^^
I very much enjoyed your video! We also visit Corpus/Port A area once a year. I have to tell you, if you have missed it...one place I HIGHLY recommend eating at on North Beach is Yo Philly! This place is so special! Amazing food and service! Love love love!
Thank you Priscilla great video I enjoyed it very much. I’ve never been to Texas. I’m looking for a new place to live. I have a dog that’s it and I do DoorDash so maybe I can come down there and work and live and get out of this winter I live in Chicagoland area outside though Polo, Illinois in the middle of nowhere, so I’m ready for the beautiful weather. When is the best time to g?. We were in C C Padre Island in October. Two days of rain kind of cold too. It did warm up the last couple of days. Is it always that windy? Liked USS Lexington, and Acquariam was cool too.
Hi 👋 it's usually windy yes. I've been in early Oct and had a good experience. I personally think late August early Sept is best just because of less crowds. Summer is slammed with us Texas locals 🤪 thanks for visiting my channel
I live in s.a as well to and I'm planning on going to lively beach top celebrate our daughter's first birthday and it would also be my wife's first time visiting corpus and I just wanted to say thank you for making this video I wasn't too sure where to take them but after I watch your previous video of the vlog I am 100% sold so I just wanted to say thank you very much and would you happen to know any good places that have crab and lobster tail?
Hi 👋 So glad you found the video helpful. I'm sure yall will love Lively Beach. You should still be able to use my discount code which is in the description box too 🙌 We usually go to the Joe's Crabshack for Lobser/Crab by the Marina. I also recommend Doc's on Sunset Island. Check out their menu to see if it's what you are going for. Also a few other locals were kind enough to leave more restaurant suggestions below in the comments so check those out as well :)
Hi there! Well yes I do but I'm biased 😄 you see I grew up going to North Padre so lots of memories. South Padre is nice too and there's a lot more hotel, resort, and nightlife options. So if that's what you are looking for I would choose SP. There are no resorts at North Padre, the closest is Lively Beach(which is amazing by the way). Lots of condo and beach house options too. The closest city to SP is McAllen and in my opinion there's not a lot to do there, but over in NP Corpus Christi is very close by and there's a lot to do including the Aquarium & visiting the Lexington. I have a lot of videos visiting North Padre that will hopefully give you a better frame of reference. Hope that helps. Thanks for visiting my channel 😊
Any recommendations on housing? I’m in a wheelchair live in Michigan and ready to move to corpus on my family is in San Antonio but I want to be by the water since I’m a lifelong resident of Michigan. Thank you.
Hi 👋 I've only ever lived in San Antonio so i can't really speak on other parts of TX but in general Texas is very family friendly. San Antonio is a great place to retire IMO. Good luck with your research and thanks for visiting my channel.
I’m a mom of littles who just moved to SATX and has been looking for local family friendly things to do. Sooooo glad I found your channel!!! Thank you!!! 🙏🏾🥰 😘
Hi 👋 Welcome to SA. Yes there's so much to do here with kids. My vlogs usually include a lot of our fun family outings. Just be sure to venture out early and hydrate during summer because it gets hot! Thanks for visiting my channel 😀
As a local the only thing is North Beach. I recomend going to the Lexington and going to the Aquarium for sure. However, aside from Black Beards and Peir 99 most of the resturaunts, stores, and hotels are abandoned. It is not the safest place to be walking around. Alot of illgal activity happens at North Beach especially at night. Just go to the Lexingotn and Aqaurium then leave.
I lived on N Padre Island from 91-95. Living on Padre Island as I did was a party 24/7 while I went to TX AM CC. But overall CC is a dump. Now family and I go to NPI twice per year and we stay at the Island House. We only go to CC to go to the movies, Lexington, Texas Aquarium or into Port A. North Beach is not a real beach. It’s a bay. To go to the beach take spid through Flour Bluff and head to Padre.
Ms Priscilla i enjoyed your video about CC BEACHES.You can be a good tourist guide you can convince people to visit CC. You help CC tourist industry by your video you should be commended for this. Thank you...
Hi there! Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed the video. It's one of my fav Texas areas to visit so happy to share the inspo! Thanks for visiting my channel & Happy new year!
Hi 👋 we like to go anytime between May and September. June & July are usually pretty busy at the beach and harder to find nice accommodation unless you book out early. Thanks for visiting my channel
Hi ! Where are you coming from ? Guess it depends. It's definitely a nice Texas getaway but it's more of a local thing, for example it's only 2.5 drive from San Antonio and I grew up going to the Coast so for me it's worth it. If you're a big Selena fan it's also worth it
best food off Port and Morgan. yes it is the hood and it can be dangerous but Selena went to high school there and the food there is like Selena would have wanted.
THAT WAS KINDA SAD, I LIVED IN CORPUS FOR A YEAR WITH FAMILY WENT TO ROY MILLER HIGH SCHOOL OFF OF LEAPARD. IT WAS NICE THEN, BUT I SEE ITS GOTTEN BAD, ORIGINALLY FROM SAN ANTONIO, WHAT I REMEMBER WHILE LIVING THERE I HAVE AN IDEA WHY IT JUST GOT WORSE, BUT I WON'T SAY I'LL KEEP THAT TO MYSELF.
Corpus Christi sounds amazing. I suppose what I don’t get is that there’s a man who lives in Corpus Christi who made a video about so many bad things. Like, high crime, potholes, trash, and to not drink the water. I’m just watching a lot of these videos because my son is relocating there and he has asked me to move there with him. After seeing that man’s video it has really made me wonder if I would want to live there 😕
Hi ! First off thanks for visiting my channel! I've been to CC many times throughout my life & I've never had any issues with crime, potholes or the water. We love CC & as a Texas local I've always considered it a family friendly place to visit & home away from home! As with any move though I'm sure you'll want to do research. Good luck to your son with the move :)
Hi. I'm from Corpus Christi, and it's interesting, but both perspectives of the city are _kind of_ right. But it definitely sounds like the "bad things" video was blowing the bad things out of proportion. Looking at the items you mentioned one at a time... Crime: There is crime of course. It is a city of over 350,000 people. But, you wil not find anything remotely like what we've all been seeing in the news about places like Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, or San Francisco. There have been no major riots, or mass looting, or waves of random violent crime. There is some vagrancy but nothing like the tent cities that have popped up in many other major cities recently. You might find people holding "work for food" signs at a few of the larger traffic intersections from time to time, and in certain neighborhoods near subsidized housing complexes, but that's about it. And as far as what crime there is, the Corpus Christi Police Department (CCPD) has a wonderful tradition of projecting police presence while also maintaining a friendly and respectful relationship with the community. They are an incredibly committed and professional force that takes seriously both the protect and serve roles of modern police. Potholes: Had honestly not been that bad of a problem, until... In February of 2021 there was a highly unusual winter storm that kept temperatures in South Texas from rising out of the 20's F for nearly a week. _Very_ unusual. Pipes were freezing and bursting all over the state. That was the week of the infamous near collapse of the Texas energy grid. I'm not sure exactly what mechanism would cause a hard freeze to impact road integrity (and I know places up north deal with such temperatures all the time with no problems...but not around here). But somehow, for some reason, ever since that freeze the roads around town started sprouting potholes like crazy. Everywhere. Older neighborhoods, newer neighborhoods, commercial areas...everywhere. So the "bad things" video was very right about that. *But* the city has been remarkably quick to notice and address the issue. There was a report on the local news a few weeks ago about how the city had repaired over 33,000 potholes in the last few months. So yes, potholes have recently become a very real problem around here. But, it's a problem that the city has been very quickly and actively addressing. Trash: Honestly don't know what he's talking about. The city waste management department does a pretty good job at keeping things clean and clear. And the code enforcement division -- even if it feels a little like living in an HOA sometimes -- does their job well to nip potential problems of blight, abandoned or unkempt property, or waste from accumulating in places where it is not supposed to be or could become any kind of health or sanitation problem. Yeah, never really experienced any issues with trash here. Water: Okay there is something to be said here. Corpus Christi is a city whose industrial base has a lot to do with oil and petrochemical refining and transportation. Yet, that surprisingly almost never affects the city water system. Almost. About three years abo there was some question about a back-flow device that _might_ not have been working properly to isolate the refinery water systems from the city systems. But in 30+ years, i only remember that issue that one time. But there is another issue. Corpus Christi is situated on the Texas gulf coast. Hurricanes and tropical storms like to come through here. If a major weather event comes through that causes considerable flooding, the city will often issue "water boil notices" mainly just in case the weather caused any problems with the system. But once everything gets checked out and is verified to be working properly the notices are usually lifted quickly. So are things here perfect? No. But as far a large cities go, I think we've been fortunate to have leaders that really do tend to focus on the things that affect the quality of life for the people who live here. And when problems do arise, they are dealt with. In addition to the things highlighted in this video the city also boasts an beautiful botanical garden, bayfront parks that are highly regarded by windsurfers and picnic-goers alike. There is a major mall and many shopping centers, two 16 screen theaters along with a smaller dinner theater, wonderful hospitals, minor league baseball and ice-hockey teams, and a good public transit bus system. Traffic is generally not bad, except for on two or three major streets near where they intersect with the main highway through the city -- and then only during certain hours of the day. The libraries here a wonderful places to study, learn or just relax for an afternoon. There are all sorts of restaurants serving everything from barbeque to seafood, to buffets, fast food, a vibrant food truck culture, sushi and pho restaurants, taquerias, dedicated sno-cone shoppes, candy stores, amazing steak houses and more. Or if you feel like doing it yourself, *you can usually get fresh-caught shrimp right from the shrimping boats* as they come in to the T-head marinas twice a day. And finally, there are *great* people living here. I guess everyone will be inclined to say that about the place where they live. But having lived in other cities both in Texas and on the East Coast, it seems to me it really comes down to a ratio. There are good people everywhere. Friendly, honest, helpful, caring, good-hearted people. But there are also -- for lack of a better term -- not-so-good people. What largely determines the character of a place is the ratio of the first to the second. And Corpus Christi, Texas, I'm glad to say has a very, very good ratio. So when your son moves here, I hope he feels welcome. I hope, and strongly suspect he will. And if you decide to join him, let me welcome you too. :) I hope you both get to experience all the best that living in Corpus Christi -- an imperfect, but friendly, hard-working, and good-natured city -- has to offer.
drewga403 loved your statement on Corpus and I agree on everything you said. I did find the trash a really bad problem on the coastline …I think it’s sometimes caused by breezes blowing so much paper waste and cups from the trash cans, and waterside eateries open air areas. I lost a menu napkins and straws in a moment at the crab shack…wish it was screened to prevent that as it’s so dangerous to wildlife.
Hi Connie, there will always be things wrong with a city. But we moved here from Canada over 20 years ago and I cannot imagine living anywhere else. PS potholes are getting fixed slowly but surely.

That sounds fun !
Have you been to padre island national seashore?? I love that beach too along with the ones you mentioned :) Great ideas. Thanks I love Corpus Christi.

Hi 👋 So glad you enjoyed the video. Yes check out Snoopys if you can! Hope you and the wife have a great beach trip. And thanks for subscribing
Cassidy's Irish Pub.
I lived on North Padre island on a canal home years ago. My business took me all over the US, but I've always missed it. I love fishing and eating fresh seafood as well. I see Corpus Christi as a big town/small city. I've lived in a mostly large metro area so, that has its own appeal.
Hi 👋 I love the Canal homes in that area. So pretty! Thanks for visiting my channel
I recommend going to Malaquite Beach State Park. Its a beautiful beach a little further that Mustang Island. You do have to pay a fee to get in. But it does have some of the most beautiful beaches
Thanks for the recommendation 🙌
Nice video. 👍👏
Thank you! And thanks for visiting the channel
Thanks a lot helped a lot
Glad to hear it! Thanks for visiting my channel
Has somebody that been born and raised in porpoise all their life I really enjoyed this video because I'm not going to lie there's so many things you could do here in Corpus especially if you have family and also anybody that is here now I just want to say welcome to Corpus and I hoped you enjoyed your stay or if you're enjoying your stay as of right now
Hi there! Thanks so much for your nice comment. Glad you enjoyed the video.

Thanks for adding all your recommendations to the comments ! Love CC
I love this video!
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed it 😊
Thank you. It looks like a beautiful spot. We are on our way to Magnolia Beach from Mission and are hoping to find a spot to park our motor home on a beach. It doesn't look like that will happen near Corpus Christi. But you description was GREAT. Thank you.
Hi there! So glad you enjoyed the video. Safe travels to Magnolia Beach & thanks for visiting my channel!
There's also skydiving, Stearman rides (WWII open cockpit biplane), dolphin tours, kayak tours, and horseback riding on the beach.
Oh, and there's the Texas Sealife Center where they rehab all kinds of native wildlife. Last I went they had seaturtles, reptiles, and huge birds.
Thanks for adding these recommendations in the comments!
Hi 👋 Well that does sound delicious. I'll be back in a few weeks so perhaps I'll check it out. Thanks for visiting my channel
Great video! I live in Corpus and ran across your video. Loved it! Just wanted to say that North Beach is not a man made beach. It is a great place to hang out for the day.
Hi 👋 thanks so much for sharing. Love hearing from the true locals. Thanks for visiting my channel!
I lived in corpus Christi for about two years or so I loved it there I wish I could go back

@@PriscillaGutierrez Hi 👋when I was there I would go to ingleside everyday because I was stationed at the naval air station that is there
But I lived in corpus
Hi Priscilla! Thanks A Million for the info. Do you have any videos on places to stay in Corpus Christi? Looking for something beach front on a budget 🤔 And additional fun activities for children e.g. water parks
Hi there! So glad you found the video helpful. We usually stay at Lively Beach which is beachfront. Otherwise we've just stayed at waterfront properties (not beach front) at vrbo type rentals. We haven't been to any water parks recently but check through the comments on here. I believe a viewer mentioned one. Thanks for visiting my channel!
Good to know that there are some people who won’t talk crap about corpus.
Hi ! Well I won't because I love Corpus. Been going since I was a kid. I think it's a nice little Texas getaway. Thanks for visiting my channel!
idk if this is any helpful to add on trips but theres a really pretty and cozy french bakery is called Bien Mérité!! as a born and raised teen in corpus i love going there when im given the chance ^^
One of my best friends lives in CC and she told me about that bakery too. I'll have to check it out soon. Thanks for checking out my channel
I very much enjoyed your video! We also visit Corpus/Port A area once a year. I have to tell you, if you have missed it...one place I HIGHLY recommend eating at on North Beach is Yo Philly! This place is so special! Amazing food and service! Love love love!
Hi 👋 So glad you enjoyed the video. I'll tell hubby about that spot. Thanks for visiting my channel
Thanks again.
Hi there! Glad you found it helpful. I've also never been to Chicago area but will be visiting this year for the first time. Happy new year!
Amazing ❤️
Thanks so much for watching!
Do not go to the beach after summer the water gets cold in September.
@@ladylee7192 Thanks for the tip.
I want to visit there
Hi 👋 hope you get too! I'm back this weekend
That's a good video.
Hi! Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for visiting my channel.
Wow your here in corpus I live in corpus to nice to meet u
Hi 👋 So great to meet you too. Love CC :)
Mustang island is covered with hotels. It spans front Noth Padres to the corpus Christi ship channel.
Do you think it’s better then south padre island? We will be visiting soon, but not sure where to go? Thank you
It's not "better", but it is cheaper. Port Aransas is very quaint as well, and you can't beat Padre Island Natl. Seashore as far as Texas beaches go.
Is there a place, that we can stay on beach and have good shelling
What about pins?
Muito legal 👏
Thanks so much for watching!
don't forget a trip to the Palace on Everhart
Any recommendations on housing? I’m in a wheelchair live in Michigan and ready to move to corpus on my family is in San Antonio but I want to be by the water since I’m a lifelong resident of Michigan. Thank you.
Aye!aye ! Aye!! Como me huele!!
Hi 👋 yes love that one
Where would you recommend families to move in Texas if you are looking for good schools and value?
Thanks for the important insight! That makes sense. I love that area but usually go during the day. Thanks for visiting my channel
Is there Lyft there
Hi. I'm not sure about Lyft but yes to Uber.
What is the best time to visit Corpus Christi? (Love what the name Corpus Christi means)
Hi 👋 we like to go anytime between May and September. June & July are usually pretty busy at the beach and harder to find nice accommodation unless you book out early. Thanks for visiting my channel
Is Corpus worth a 6 hour drive?
Hi ! Where are you coming from ? Guess it depends. It's definitely a nice Texas getaway but it's more of a local thing, for example it's only 2.5 drive from San Antonio and I grew up going to the Coast so for me it's worth it. If you're a big Selena fan it's also worth it
❤❤❤
Thanks for watching 😊
I from there I move away from there years ago I had not go bac nomore I had alot my family s that liv there I now alot had changed alot
Catfish Charlie's is good too
Thanks for the reco and for visiting my channel !

Hi there. Thanks for sharing your opinion. Have a great weekend
Selena is my favroit singer but i am sad that she died 😭😭😭😭😭
She's my all time favorite too. I actually got to see her perform once when I was four 😊 Thanks for visiting my channel

Hi there! I've never been to the Trade Center but thanks for recommending in the comments :)
@@PriscillaGutierrez it’s a good place to good for fruit cups
Nice ! I'll check out on a future trip hopefully. Thanks for visiting my channel
CC
