Question - I just purchased a set of these exact wheels for my ‘05 Excursion. Have you experienced any rubbing with the 305 width tires on these wheels?
No I did not experience any rubbing when I had these wheels. What size lift do you have on it?
ASTEW'S GARAGE Astew, Thanks for the quick reply. I ‘m having a 2.5 inch ReadyLIFT kit installed Monday. Then, Tuesday the Method NV HDs (18x9 w/8x170mm bolt pattern). I will keep the current tires on the truck until they wear down (GY Wrangler AT Adventure Kevlar; 275/70R/18). Any advice or changes you would suggest?
Yeah you should be good since a 305 is equivalent to a 33" tire you should have more then enough clearance and no rubbing since these wheels have a -12 offset which will bring them more away from the frame. I was really happy with these wheels and wish I never would have gotten rid of them over my new xd's. The one downside I didn't like was how water would puddle up on the simulated beadlock ring.
305 is width not height, gotta do the conversion with the aspect ratio to figure your height.
Does the plastic center cap on the fronts come off easily? I tried Allen wrench that fit the screws but they just keep spinning and don’t seem to back out. I tried both front wheels. I too have manual locking hubs and the plastic covers need to come off for 4wheel drive. The sales guy at the store was not helpful.
If I remember right I had to pull the whole wheel off and take the center cap off and the screws are on the inside.
