This tool rocks, has masons quoting out $30,000 to repoint my building, I can confirm it’s a precise tool (as long as your drill has good variable speed) and it puts the exact amount of mortar in the exact spot you need. Not having to go back to the bucket over and over again. I let it setup a bit then come back by with the pointing tool to finish the joint! Looks great and I suck at brick work, yet my joints are cleaner than the company that I hired last time to do it!
@@bebobbebob8275 that's just what clowns are charging these days, blame lack of people in the trades, it's a small building, about 700 square foot foot print per floor, x2 floors. essentially an old brick barn/carriage house from the 1800's, I spent two weekends doing it myself with a helper to mix the mortar and was fine, I quoted out 6 different companies and they were all in this price range +-$5000
I repointed my whole terrace house in the UK. I used hammer and chisel as well as an angle grinder to remove old mortar. It is a tough job to do. The actual repointing is a game of patience especially doing it on a ladder. A scaffolding make eveything much easier and safer but it had to the cost. Anyway doing it yourself saves thousands and you probably do a better job too.
People saying this is too expensive have not realised the time it takes too repoint by hand. This is coming from someone who is experienced in it! Yes it is pricey but if it lasts it will be well worth the price
Seemed too good to be true but it's a brilliant tool. My battery drill wasn't really man enough but with mains power I worked all day. Well worth the investment.
Normally lumps dont appear if mixed in a machine mixer. The Quikpoint can handle aggerate up to 3mm we always advise that you sieve the sand and mix the mortar using a Machine mixer not by hand or paddle mixer to ensure its well mixed.
Well worth the investment with the time this product will save you on jobs! As a per day average comparison, by hand you can cover 6-8 meters squared, with a mastic gun about 10-12 meters squared, whereas with the Quikpoint Mortar Gun you'll do 20+.

Gosh if that video is how the professional does it. I don’t stand a chance. You should take this video down, I reckon it will have cost you a lot of sales. The pointmaster videos, although a manual application of the mortar, produce an end result that make you want to buy their product. I am sure you can produce a better finish than is currently shown.
If you set the drill to reverse does it remove the old mortar first?

$30, 000 sounds like a massive rip off unless we are talking about a very large building that would take weeks to repoint.

How is it with lime mortar?

how does it handle lumps that might come up in your mortar? It happens.

They always dodge real world situations. I guess i will be removing the plastic tip on my gun.

That's great to hear! We'd really appreciate a review on Trustpilot if you have the time uk.trustpilot.com/review/sunrisetools.co.uk
£378! I think £120 is a price I’d pay but Wouldn’t use these day in day out.
Hi @J S you will make the cost back in a day by the amount you can do. 6-8 sq metre by hand or 20+ sq metre by Quikpoint
Jesus clicked on the link get it pointed for that price😂😂😂
means as $600 nz paid for it self in one day
Good luck cleaning up all extra mortar.
That’s so much messier then troweling. The time you save not troweling you will lose having to clean the brick
Man that looks messy on the brick faces
Was fine at end after smoothing it off
Was very interested until I saw the price lol
