Btw, tip for everyone who usually doesn't handle dogs: If you want/need/are allowed to touch a dog for whatever reason (rescue, help, saying hello.., wiping off your hand *caugh* :P), try to touch his face from the side or beneath his chin. Most dogs really don't like being touched on the head from above, so they flinch a little.
That's a Samoyed--highly intelligent and adorable. Strange choice for a Brooklyn apartment though, considering how much exercise they need and their thick double coat.

How could it fit through those bars if it belonged in that apt.? The only silly person, is the dude saying “in case the dog decides to jump.” LOL! Dog’s aren’t stupid. Great job by a fireman who handled this perfectly. Although Chows are attractive dogs, they are known to bite strangers when touched. It's a defensive mechanism. A natural one.
