    Nice one :) My ASR4 from Advanced Sim Racing is VERY similar to this. And I used to have a next level racing GT Track which I ultimately returned because it was awful quality and the service was pretty lacklustre too.
    I gotta say that an aluminum extrusion rig is way better than a prefab and there’s so much more flexibility for accessories and addons. Took me a whole day to build mine and then another 6 months of on and off work adding and customizing things :)
    I ultimately went with a DD1 from Fanatec, alongside the CSL Elite V2 pedals. For the wheels I went with the R300 (with Podium Hub, Advanced Paddle Module and Endurance Button Module), CSL Elite McLaren GT3 V2 and the Formula V2.5. Couldn’t be happier.

      Thanks. I agree the aluminium rigs are better than the fixed rigs because they offer heaps more versatility in the way of add-ons. Hopefully we get plenty years and sim mileage out our rigs and equipment! 👍🏽

    Great Vid. I got the same rig, and some notes regarding the seat mount. I think that in the instructions it says to do 15" or 380mm from inside edge to edge on the cross beams but that isn't correct if you want to the outer edge flush. You did that well.. I wish I had watched your video first as now my 40x40 stick out beyond the cross beams. Also the diagram shows the 90 degree mounts on the inside part of those 40x40s.. but i think its actually better to put them on the outside as it's easier to adjust and tighten them up. I ended up attaching the seat sliders to the seat, the 40x40 beams to the seat sliders, then taking all of that and mounting that to the cross bars. Having the 90 degree brackets on the outside made that easier.

    • @joepaceracing
      @joepaceracing  Год назад

      Hi Gordon. I'm glad you liked the video. You're right the manual only tells you how far apart the 40x40 need to be for the sear rails but actually needs to explain how far from centre each rail must sit.
      The manual is a little grey and open to interpretation and I know what you mean about the 90 degree angle bracket placement. I questioned whether they should be on the inside.
      It sure was a bit of a test but still great satisfaction once it got done. Great to know that you could work it out in the end.
      Hope you enjoy your rig! 😎

    Nice job! Looking to get this rig too and found your vid more by luck but glad i did as it was really helpful. Couple of questions pls ... did the shifter mount come with the rig or do you need to purchase separately? And, if the shifter is mounted on the left, does the triangular fixing plate (the part with the TR logo) fit on the other size? Thx

      @joepaceracing  8 месяцев назад +1

      Hi remark704. Great to hear that the video was helpful to you. The shifter mount was extra and I also added the longer arm for it and upright for it. The plate with the TR logo will show on both left and right because it's printed on both sides of the plate. I hope you enjoy putting your rig together.

      @joepaceracing  Месяц назад

      I use the rig on carpet and it doesn't move even with the castors unlocked unless I move a lot and that movement is very minimal. You could place a mat or piece of carpet on the non carpeted floor when you want to use the rig. That would give more support.

    How will you rate the seat you have.
    I’m undecided about the seats to choose. Thanks.

    • @joepaceracing
      @joepaceracing  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi R1cko. I chose the GT style seat over the recliner sports seat because I felt that it would offer more support while racing. After having the rig for a year now, I still find it comfortable enough for me to sit in for long periods.

      Hi David. I'm really enjoying this rig and I'm looking forward to adding more to it. I do want to upgrade to a DD wheel and better pedals as the G29 is starting to feel a bit insufficient now. All in all so far I really happy with the rig.

      @@joepaceracing Very good! I just purchased a GT Omega Prime chassis. Still waiting on it to arrive, but much like you, I started with a belt-driven wheel (Thrustmaster) and a similar wheel/pedal stand. I feel as soon as I mount the wheel, I'm going to want to upgrade it. Also already planning some other upgrades, such as haptic feedback. Was looking at butt kicker, but for the 80/20 extrude chassis, Slip-Angle has a really good looking set for a really good price and it's a 4 transducer setup with spring damping. This is quite the hobby though. Once you get the bug, you just can't see to get enough.

    • @joepaceracing
      @joepaceracing  10 месяцев назад

      This sounds excellent! You're going for complete immersion! These are upgrades that I have been planning on also. Once I upgrade the wheel and pedals then it will grow from there. I hope that you enjoy your GT Omega was it's all set up. Let me know how you go with it.

      @@joepaceracing You need a decent stand or rig for the DD wheel anyway so i think you've done things in the right order. I'd probably go with better peddles now you have a decent rig to strap them to before a dd wheel although there is phenomenal deals available for entry level DD bundles with wheel, base and pedals.
