Hey Guys,
This is our very first DIY and I'm obsessed now lol. I think Matt is over my projects but a new home is never complete without your own personal touch, so we decided to make our entire kitchen island BLACK! When I walk into our kitchen now a sense of pride comes over me. I hope you guys enjoy the vlog this week and remember this is not a tutorial just simply an inspo video to get your design juices flowing.

I truly agree once you do a project the oride you take in it encourages us to dive in again lol i have a list now. It turned out amazing i love bc i have been adding black in mine this is what i needed to convince me thats the way to go white is to bland Great job

You did a wonderful job on the island. Ps have you ever thought of using on each side of your island. It’s called wooden legs on each side of your island it will pop. I went on Amazon and look for wooden furniture legs for the island kitchen. Thank you God bless you and family 🙏🏻❤️

Job well done. You guys nailed it. My new Island also has panels. When my husband and I had the kitchen remodel we went to a cabinet store. They came out and measured everything and then went to their office and designed it out into a blueprint. My island is the size as yours, but in espresso. Again you guys did that. My husband and I was just talking about investing in a saw and other renovation tools. Blessings and stay safe.👍🏾
Yea it wasn’t an option to go that route with our builder. It most definitely would’ve been a lot easier but I think it came out great. Thank you again for the compliment. Try some projects we’ve gotten our money back already from that saw! Lol

Thank you! Yes those stools are only temporary. Still trying to figure out the permanent ones. Once I get them those stools will go into our basement at our bar.

Good job.you may want to use Satin finish when doing black, it shows less streaks. I learned from painting my doors black. Either way, it looks beautiful.
Thank you. Yes we thought about going with satin but we wanted it to be a little bit more durable since ppl will sit at the island. Of course if I were to do it again I would just spray it rather than roll it. Although, we did go back over it with a really smooth roller brush the brand was Purdy and you can’t see any strokes.

Thank you and congratulations! The process was ok. We had some bumps in the road along the way but since moving in we’re in total bliss. I encourage you to stay on top of your build visit as much as you can and vocalize when things are out of place. All in all enjoy the process and again, congratulations!

Thank you. Are you talking about the front where the sink is? Or the side of the cabinets? If it’s the front where my sink is those are cabinets and the side of the island are cabinet panels I upgraded with my builder.

Kudos to you and Matt! I don’t know if I would’ve had the courage to do that! It came out great! The only thing I would’ve changed would be the sheen of the paint to match the rest of the cabinetry, but you guys matched the color really nicely. I’m glad you got the island you were hoping for from the beginning without spending thousands more! Can’t wait to see the other projects Matt tackled!
Thank you 😊 Yes! It was hard to try and match the cabinets because the cabinets of course are factory produced. Also we needed the island to be durable so we couldn’t really do a satin finish because of feet and what not. So I think we got pretty darn close. The video makes it look more glossy than what it is in person though.

Great job! Our Fischer home will be ready hopefullyin February. We are probably going to put marble wallpaper in front of our island that will match what's on the wall. We have an Avery floorplan.
