Nice, great work. I have a 1993 2wd hilux with the 2.8. Have fitted a TD05 big 16g with 7cm rear housing, front mount and methanol/water injection. Can't wind the fuel pump much more or it won't come back to idle! Lol. 30psi and all good. Egt's post turbo are well within limits. It's awesome fun.
Sounds like an animal! Really wish I could go a FMIC and retain AC etc on mine. How does that turbo behave? Is a relatively big turbo for a 4 cylinder diesel 👌
@@boostedbuiltgarage I think it's not a bad match, It will start to boost under 1500, but being a 2wd and low gearing it picks up pretty fast, you have to ease the foot down a bit tho without a compensated pump as we all know what happens then! I'd like to gear it up more, already changed to a 3.9 lsd but just pulls the speedo! George from Tassie 👍
I'm starting to fall for the surf or even a 2L-TE. But the car has a cool numberplate. I'm predicting that it will hit 100kw and maybe beyond. I don't know much about the water injection that will be installed.

Haha, love this build, i have a pajero with the 4m40 we have jusf fitted a gt2554 mamba bb billet for a sd33 and its running 22psi with heaps better response than stock, wound up the fuel and now it really goes, beats a new ranger 0 to 100 with the 33s on😁😁😂
Very nice! That's one of the turbos I'm tossing up between. Either that or a 2860 with a .42 rear... Ideally want room for more compressor airflow down the track
@@boostedbuiltgarage yeh we r tossing up whether to gonto a 2860 in the future to, 2554 has grest response and gets 29psi on the 4m40 with wastegate pinched off, has 6psi by 1500 in 4th and 25 by 2000
That's pretty bloody impressive! Are you monitoring intake temps? If so, do they indicate it is calling out of efficiency higher up in rev range/boost level? Thanks for the insight, really helps hearing good solid tried a tested input
@@boostedbuiltgarage nah sorry just egt, it was built on a tight budget, but it has a 600by300by75 front mount so they pretty low, but the reason we chose 2554 was cos we planned on doing a compound
At the flywheel yes, it makes 97kw. Minus approx 20-25% for drivetrain losses and that is roughly what it makes at the wheels (which is what the dyno measures) So, 73rwkw stock using a 25% loss

Anybody know how much horsepower 2L MOTOR can handle, do u have to lower the compression ratio, adding bigger turbo. Can it achieve up-to 200hp
680 exhaust temp how long do you want the engine to live? 22psi of boost no cooler?
That egt is pre turbo... IATs aren't any higher than what a standard surf runs...

Nothing special, just a standard unichip model - it's the wiring and programming that's the custom thing

It's a custom Ben thing, but he can send wiring instructions and a preloaded tune etc for those interstate customers who are confident in wiring
