Nemophila's best cover IMO. When Tamu was 24 she auditioned solo in front of X-Japan drummer Yoshiki who also wrote Kurenai (song she played)
He was very impressed, they compared there drumming bpm Tamu's was higher also Nemophila (then Mayu session) played Kurenai at there 1st gig

During a live gig with her previous band (Lipstick) Mayu (Sindy) switched from singer to drummer (search) LIPSTICKワンマン。Sally番長ボーカル
This, in my own humble opinion is their best cover, and I love all their covers!

*Nemophila Kurenai Fun Facts:*
*Intro:* The drummer of X Japan starts the intro off on the piano instead of the guitar.
*Kurenai Backstory:* This song was played the first night this band played as Mayu Sessions one off concert. At this time Mayu could barely sing English words. She worked very hard on her punctuation of English words.
*Tamu:* There are several videos on RUclips that has a pre-Nemophila Tamu (drum cam) auditioning for a drummer position on a X-Japan tribute band. She's been playing this song as a drummer for awhile. Those drum cam videos are fun to watch. There are a few drum cam videos with Nemophila Tamu released during Covid. She has her own RUclips channel with fun stuff on it. Like her singing lead with her old J-Pop band.
they only played the intro on piano after hide died. when Sugizo joined, they started doing the violin/piano intro. guitar will always be the true intro to the song

X-Japan did the song in English first, then redid it in Japanese which is how they normally perform it. Nemo chose to cover the English version rather than the Japanese so that's why they noted that in the title.
This song the 2 Maximum the Hormone and their Loudness covers are my favorites oh and Rottengraffty is right there too.

thank you for this great reaction. tim. this is the song, which brought them together, when they were still "mayus sessionband". they put in all they had, look at the exhausted tamu! maybe it is interesting to watch show yas cover of kurenai (SHOW-YA - 紅/KURENAI (X JAPAN cover) @Live『GLAMOROUS SHOW.
1981 founded Show Ya can be called the mothership of all these all female bands, that give us all this beautiful music.they are organising a yearly festival only for female bands. and there is also deep a connection to nemophila: drummer miki helped out, when tamu couldn´´t play: the videos of "I am the storm" and "Fairy" ( both covers of show ya songs) are on nemophilas YT channel.
PS: now I really like the background light.
Tamu's collapse was staged. It is an honorarium to Yoshiki who had asthma and would not uncommonly collapse on stage from his drumming.
