    Also the tuono is a rsv4 with flat bars, make no mistake here, it's a sportsbike and realistically u can't really compare them, because the super duke is a stand alone model, it wasn't a sportsbike before, it was built from the ground up as a super duke...

    On my second SDR, Did 7500 miles through Europe in August no problems I’m 6ft 1 and 60 years old, it’s a has a Power Parts seat so really comfortable fantastic all rounder and great on the track. Beware if you put a tail tidy on you will get a really wet arse when the roads are wet.

    I'm a long time aprilia owner (various models since 2000) and whilst they build great bikes, backup is not their strongest point. I agree it's a better looker than the angular Ktm for me. Comes down to whether you buy with your head or your heart as reading between the lines, you want the Tuono but think you should have the KTM. Tough one

    I own the the original 2014 1290r with full Akrapovic system. The biggest upgrade you might of thought was the exhaust system. But it wasn’t. What made this bike the best bike I have ever owned was getting the handling sorted.
    The front end was left stock because it’s a street bike but the rear end got the Ohlins. That and the power parts sport seat(which pushes your weight more over the front wheel)make this bike handle the medium and tight twisty like a supermoto on steroids. I can’t Imagine that the Aprilia could be better.

    Have to totally agree with you. Asking consumers to purchase what should be 'standard' equipment for a bike of this build is scandalous. BMW provides all those for its S1000r if you buy the sports pack. The Tuono comes with those as standard. It's a bit illogical. PS: I'm an ex TuonoRR owner looking to buy the SuperDuke. The Tuono wasn't the best for inner city riding.

    KTM = Keep Taking Money. After they take it all and you have literally nothing left, at least you have one of the best bikes there is. I agree with the suspension. I thought it was very floaty but once you harden everything up and get that rear spring to the right height, it all makes sense.

      chris murray, I tried the BMW and it is a good bike but just felt a little sterile to me and a little buzzy at speed, felt like it needed another gear, having said that there’s not much to choose between any of them now in terms of quality and features so it just comes down to personal preference and if the bike fits you physically. Oh and cost.

    I think the Aprilia and the SDR are not really in the same category. The SDR is a purpose built street fighter/naked/hooligan bike. The Aprilia is an altered sport/track bike for the street. I think the SDR should be lumped with Ducati Monster 1200s, Speed Triple, etc. Aprilia should be with BMW s1000r, Ducati Streetfighter v4, etc.

    • @KaiserWheelHelm
      @KaiserWheelHelm  4 года назад

      Roy I agree, although they will all be put into some sort of category, and litre naked is what these will be all pitched against at some point, it's that manufacturers best attempt at stealing you away from any of the others in that particular class... if I was looking at buying a bike in this category I would want to try all that you mentioned and find the one that suited me the most, I'm sure you'd do the same... I certainly wouldn't say I'm not trying the Aprilia because it's an altered street/track bike.. I do say in the video that they are completely different bikes. It's up to the rider to find what he likes and I like both the Duke and the Tuono for very different reasons.

  • @simonlutt9849
    @simonlutt9849 5 лет назад +1

    As far as I am concerned the Tuono is no Naked-Bike at all. Because if she were, bikes like the Yamaha XJ Diversion, Suzuki Bandit 1250S, Honda CBF 1000, etc are Nakeds too!
    But they are Not!
    In fact, from my point of view the Super Duke is the sexiest bike out there.

    I brought the very same bike a year ago & yes I agree, Fantastic bike, got a bit of everything really. As for the bolt ons ... i purchased the performance pack which includes quickshifter, in my opinion Track pack is just a step to far on this bike,the roads in the uk are that bad these days that you really do need both bits of rubber on the road & with the track pack the front wheel never is !! 177bhp is surely enough 🙈🙈 . The depreciation is horrendous, I got a quote last week to change mine & £10.500 was the top price i was offered & that was against a £19.000 GSA... £4k loss in 12 months. They are giving them away now.
