Don't you love tutorials that say how to do this thing, but they just do it them selves teaching nothing in depth. It's so great cause now I get to figure it out myself without any prior knowledge from tutorials
Tsuku Bane I was where you're at not long ago. I got mad, but the only solution if you want to something like this is do basic tutorials for beginners like pen tool, gradients, pathfinder. You'll find this tutorial is really not THAT hard but he makes no claim it's for first-timers. Albeit maybe he should say that it definitely isn't.
D.J. Sherman My first flash tutorial was condescending and showed basic things. I can do some advanced stuff in that program now. I don't even know where the pen tool is in illustrator.
I would like them to stop calling these types of videos tutorials. They aren't. They are "Watch me do this amazing thing while listening to my crappy taste in music."
Astounding ! I use Illustrator everyday at work doing prepress and it is nice to see what all you can do with the program, along with your skill and talent. Love It !!!
I actually completed this today with very similar results. Definitely the best thing I have done with Illustrator so far. As I said a couple of months ago, OUTSTANDING DEMONSTRATION OF SKILL from Clever Mark. Thanks again mate :)
Really great work Clever Mark - it's people like you that make it possible to learn illustrator and it's tools. I made the same and found it really easy to follow. Many thanks for sharing your skills.
I haven't been using Illustrator much over the past few years and the tools have changed since I was a power user 15 years ago, but I picked up a bunch of useful techniques from this. Audio would be helpful, but I rather like how quick this was. I can always rewind and get what I may have missed. Thanks.
Mark that was so easy to follow, If they're too noob for this maybe they should watch another video! This was beautifully done and easy to follow for a pro-tutorial.
I love this video, to be honest, I learned more about Illustrator from this video rather than the actual tutorial videos. Thank You so much for this, you're the best. :D
Thanks a lot! Even though this is a 2013, and it's now 2020, this is still a great tutorial. Some of the things have changed on 2019 illustrator CC, like where to find transparency mask, but easy to find. Cool shading techniques - THANKS!
after I watch you video in making 3D logo im now interested using Adobe Illustrator. i know how to use adobe photoshop but im not yet interested try to use illustrator when i watch your video i was fascinated on how u make your logo easily. hope i can also make my own unique logo.. thanks for sharing this video
After extrusion you have to go to object and extend appearance. This will then allow you to drag a box over the entirety of the area (not just click, as they will be in sections) and then sift click the object as a whole. Remember to first ungroup the sections though. Do this for all 4 areas and then you can do the gradient
Man! Nice job! I wish this video was around a few years ago. There was a lot of logo designs that used this method, and I was intrigued to know how they did it, so I just trialed and tested myself and found my own solutions, which are REALLY similar to yours. The only thing I did do for the extraction is use the extrude and bevel to expand it to the back. Usually I would take my cut out shape, duplicate it, send it to the back, and scale it down proportionately, which gives the same results.
I just logged in to say you sir blew my mind away with that, amazing man. I tried to keep up but I lost you after halfway haha. I'll come back to this soon as I better myself (hopefully)
Hello, Group full object>select object>right click>transform>reflect, vertical, copy. That object climb down. Pick Rectangle tool end make a square on the object. That square make in gradietn white to black like on tutorial. Than select logo and square together and go on transparency, click on small arrow right up and click on Make opacity mask. That is all! Best Regards
Thanks for comment. This video was made in 2013. It is my first video ever. Later, I did more serious tutorials with speech. You can watch my whole channel. You will surely find something for you. Best Regards, CM
Ok nice one.. I just started using Ai a year ago, after trying other design programs, has been a interesting development, because i use to manually create all these effects... 👍🏻
Nice to see what illustrator can do. Would have appreciated comments or text on the screen on what is going on instead of music I want to mute. At least I have to rewind alot to see what actually happens, I'm probably not the only one being slow like that:) Awesome logo though, thanks for the tutorial!
Wow - awesome! Thanks for sharing :) One small criticism that would make it even more awesome - if you haven't made this change already when you do this sort of art - bring the reflection image upward to meet the bottom of the logo image. They would be touching. Thanks again for the video!
great design and tutorial, but it would have helped if you had narrated some steps. i couldn't follow what you did with bevels of the shapes, did you combine it with the circle or with each other..
Probably very good but I could not make out most things and because everything is happening so fast I spent to much time going back and forth could not read anything so I am gathering that this is for people who are advanced
WOW very nice and catchy 3D tutorial, awesome mate ! good jobs. btw, i have a little questions? I am very interested in how to save all the color gradient is automatically there? your answer are really appreciate. :) Cheers,
I learnt illustrator with this video 6 years ago, I just searched for it today to give a thumbs up

This guys' sick like the sound track and fast pace. Ill watch it about 10 more times because there is so much to learn.
One of the most amazing things I saw until now about vectors and design on RUclips. AWESOME
Astounding ! I use Illustrator everyday at work doing prepress and it is nice to see what all you can do with the program, along with your skill and talent. Love It !!!
I generally don't comment on any youtube video but after seeing this video I couldn't resist to comment. Awesome masterpiece of work!!
Thanks!

I repeated like 100 times your video to understand it but I do like that design, thank you very much.

Excellent tut, brother! I love seeing other people's workarounds for this type of stuff. This was super clean and quick. Keep up the great work!
I love this video, to be honest, I learned more about Illustrator from this video rather than the actual tutorial videos. Thank You so much for this, you're the best. :D
Clean, chic and attention-atracting; I even like how the logo looks at 3:10 without the orbs.
Bravo majstore, ovo je jako korisno. Zahvaljujem na pomoći !

Absolutely OUTSTANDING demonstration with a brilliant result. Well done mate :)
Fantastic work! Very helpfull video! Keep up the good work.
Prefect Logo tutorials .Many thanks
Its a demonstration not a tutorial, inspiring but without narrative its eye catching entertainment from someone who knows what they're doing.
