Rachel loved the wrong guy. She should have ended up with Mark. She trusted him anyway. She loved Frank but couldn't trust him. Frank only cared about Rachel when Rachel died. I couldn't hate Zoe but i did resent her. She knew she was spending more time with Frank than his own wife. He had more care and loving thoughts for Zoe than Rachel. She should have had more self love and break free from Frank way earlier than before she got sick. Frank regrets now but it's too late, but that's what he gets. Karma is not kind. It's ironic that Frank had wished that he didn't want to be alone, that he wanted a sibling. Poof! Rachel comes as an answer to a prayer but Frank didn't cherish her. I would have liked that Frank's parents found out how Frank neglected his dying wife. At least Rachel had her inlaws and Mark. She left the world being loved, just not by her hubby.
This is such a sad story. I'm trying not to feel bitter about the ending. How could Frank think his posting of fireworks (which are associated with romance in Asia) would make Rachel think of the northern lights and not a romantic connection to Zoe. He made so many mistakes in their communication. Everything he said and did alluded to a love relationship with Zoe and disinterest or distain of Rachel. If she had cut her ties with Frank early in her illness and spent her last days with Mark at least she would have been in a respectful and caring environment at the end.
Another story where the lying cheating scumbag fake his grief. It's all fake, as for 8 yrs he treated her like garbage, so why the grief now? These scumbags suddenly get an epiphany when wife/gf dies or leaves, they suddenly realize that they now "love" the wife/gf? All B/S. It's fear of the afterlife that they try to show remorse.
He never cheated. He assumed she liked Mark, and she assumed he liked zoe. In reality, they both liked each other but never bothered to talk to each other for fear the other would leave. So they both made their crappy bed by refusing to communicate.
