im sorry if i sound rude when i say that "most people who see asimo or any robot/android being demonstrated are really clueless and most always dumb".Thats because i do not understand why people do not see or comprehend that every single thing asimo does while on stage during the performances is pre planned out like a pre set course to be followed by a robot in a maze. It is told when to answer something where to walk, what to say, when to wave and every single thing it does on this stage is just an attempt by its designers at Honda to try and trick the main public into believing that what they are seeing Asimo do is things that he responds to after the fact as if asimo is just a robot that exists and waits to say or do something by command. When i reality thats what it could someday or maybe already does or has the capability of doing but the stage this woman and the object,couches,tv,computer,stairs,door and even lights are all programmed into Asimo as things he will either do or demonstrate before hand so when he gets on stage people think they are seeing a robot be "a Robot". When even some would like to believe Asimo thinks on "his own" like a human would. This couldnt be further from the truth. The point is these are machines, made of nuts and bolts hardware. They are not really alive, nor will they ever comprehend what we are so desperately trying to make these machines comprehend. Which is that they are alive or independently acting entities that have the capacity to feel, to think and to convey emotional states that go along with humanities ability to express such things due to the fact that "WE" are "AWARE" of "OUR" own "EXISTENCE". And no matter how many lines of code or algorithms you create or how many sheets of metal,plastic,silicone and screws you use the robot, android and any other life mimic worthy machine will never understand its own identity like we think we can make it do. Asimo fucked up not by choice but by a flaw in timing or programming procedure. And thats why at the end it was so convenient that the oh so lavishly expensive mr. movie phone man, was at the ready with the drop of the curtains to say his "we regret blah blah blah speech" about Asimo not working. That was and is a contingency plan for honda and whoever else puts on these shows to try and end the painstaking screw ups that asimo might make by a multitude of hardware and timing and connectivity issues it may experience throughout the day. Thats a fact and i could care less what any one else thinks i know and people should also know that robots will never understand that they are alive. Even if we make them say that they are when asked it is just a puppet being displayed upon invisible strings of code by its bullshit artist the puppeteer who are the people who obsessively try and yearn to create a robot that pops up and off its table while looking at them and saying "Wow holy shit mr. programmer builder guy, thanks for building me i know i am a robot and alive! Wow i was programmed with a soul! Gee wiz thanks man!" And that person would just be so thrilled to see a robot do something like that and walk on its jolly way. Point is its never and i repeat NEVER going to happen. You cannot give robots or anything made by the hands of humans without it being a baby born by natural pregnancy life, or the true identity or understanding of such a life. Robots are just a waste of time. they will make us lazy less intelligent beings.And more reliant on such pieces of hardware to do the shit we should do for ourselves. End of story.
In short words, robots (including computers) can't do anything by themselves. They ALWAYS depend of a human (programmer) and don't have any intelligence...
@admiralpicard2010 Some robots with Speech Recognition and Artificial Intelligence have to decide for themselves what something is. For instance, we may teach them what a table is, but not a chair. When they see something, such as the chair, that looks kind of like a table, they will then decide what its use may be. Or even with words. They may not know what the word playdough is, but if we teach them what play is and dough, they can put two and two together and know what it is.
I was in the robot suit that day. I was pissed off because they were cutting down on my food and giving me slimming pills to keep me small enough to fit inside the suit, unfortunately this caused me to have mood swings. I was only 12 at the time. I am 16 now so I am too old and too big for the suit. My little brother is hoping to get a job there this summer when he is 10. My Dad was pretty pissed off that day, he was the one who had to lower the curtain and announce that the show is cancelled.
Poor lady who has to figure out what to do when the robot turns his ass to the public and faces the wall... But oh well, that was 5 whole years ago... shit happens, robots, we can't trust them :D

If you see the video of him unscrewing a drink and pouring it, he hesitates and has to learn what to do with it, because its something he hasnt seen before. He holds the cups still for a moment because one is paper, because he has to decide how hard to grip it so that it wont be crushed.
Amazing as it is & the way it can walk & even run is incredible,its still just a remote controlled toy.It just does what its programmed to do,nothing nore.
