      This is more shitlib propaganda putting black women on a pedestal to justify using them as weapons to attack black men with. Every black man in that movie is either a corpse or a villain. Name one other than Tiana's father (who barely gets any screen time) or the blaxploitation holdover Dr. Facilier. Meanwhile, Oprah is only playing Tiana's mother because Nell Carter died.

    See, I remember back in the day when both boys and girls, men and women, _everyone_ could enjoy Disney films. But this whole push to make *everything* a "girl's brand" has not just gotten old, its bones have turned to dust. Growing up as a girl myself, I never once felt excluded from "boy's brands" like Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, Jurassic Park. Anyone could like those things. But I think catering it more to a specific audience helped the writers/creatives capture the magic that made them so special. By shifting the focus more towards girls, not only does it NOT appeal to girls, it doesn't appeal to anybody. It'd be like making a whole lot of romantic musicals with a focus on boys. Boys wouldn't like that, and the girls wouldn't like that. It doesn't make a lick of sense.

    Some things are gender specific and some things aren't. Harry Potter and Super Mario appeal to just about every demographic. Male, female, old, and young. Disney should've been shooting for that. Instead, they're taking boys brands and trying to force them to be girls brands.

    Like more than two thirds of the visitors at Disneyland I have never watched "Song Of The South" for the obvious reason; is near impossible to get thanks to its own company. As they say, a movie based on a book must be good on its own merit without asking the audience to read the book to be able to understanding it, the ride WORKED FOR EVERYONE without the need of having to watch the movie; it told, apparently, its own story, and THERE WAS NO RACISM IN IT! "Racism" is defined as "hatred and discrimination towards a race", if they think that characters talking and dressing accurately to the TIME PERIOD of the story its "racist", that's not hatred, and THEY ARE THE RACISTS. Like most of those two thirds of the visitors, SPLASH MOUNTAIN was one of my favorite rides despite never watching the movie because I judged the ride on ITS OWN MERIT. For decades NOBODY COMPLAINED ABOUT RACISM, until the woke mob arrived. F them! No song from "Princess and The Frog" will be as CATCHY as "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah", you know I am right, just make a poll, a song from a movie I have not seen totally engraved in my memory thanks ENTIRELY to the ride. PS. It does look like SH*T, specially for Disneyland standards; it doesn't look like something "magical" taken out of a cartoon of fairy tale like it used to be, it looks like any other uninspired GENERIC waterpark attraction out there.

We live 90 minutes from WDW and for a very long time we’d go there 3-4 times a year. Sometimes we’d go to a park and other times just go stay a night or two at a resort and hang at Disney Springs. It was overpriced, but you at least knew you were getting immaculate grounds and friendly staff. The last time we went was after it opened post covid and it was a dramatic difference. The grounds aren’t kept up as well, things are constantly breaking and taking a long time to repair and then it seemed like people there just cared less. We haven’t gone to the parks or stayed over there now for several years and I just don’t see why at this point that we’d need or want to go back.

    • @Attmay
      @Attmay 27 дней назад +1

      Michael Eisner made me realize that Ron Miller deserved better. It was Card Walker who should have been fired years before they drove Miller out. Roy O. Disney almost did but couldn't bring himself to push the button, just like Golda Meir with the Arabs.
      Walker basically let the film division starve to pay for the theme parks. Miller tried to save it. *Pete's Dragon* showed they still had a handle on what audiences used to like when Walt Disney was alive. It's the movies after that and before Michael Eisner joined the company that showed that they were paying attention to what audiences liked in the here and now. Even bringing Eisner into the fold was an extension of that. This is when they became single-handedly determined to get the audiences who chose Richard Dreyfuss's mashed potato statue and John Travolta's bikini briefs over Helen Reddy's bloomers. But by the time of *Never Cry Wolf* and *Splash,* that showed the "PG Initiative" (a fan-created retronym to describe some thing that mainly matters to Americans) was working, it was too late for Ron Miller's career because the board of directors chose to blame him for the money running low. Was the decade long recession used to justify cutting the budget on *Robin Hood* also his fault? If boomers are just begged their parents to go see *Alice in Wonderland* and *Sleeping Beauty* enough times to put them into the black when Walt was still alive to actually see the money, they would not have starved the animation division subsequently, too. Wolfgang Reitherman had to beg the people left standing when Walt died not to close the studio after *The Jungle Book,* and if he had not, there would be no Disney "Renaissance" (a marketing retronym created by the same people who brought it to a crashing halt in the first place) and thus no *Little Mermaid,* no *Beauty and the Beast,* no *Aladdin,* and no *Lion King.*
      Just think, all boomers had to do was put up with Tommy Steele for three hours and Helen Reddy for two hours and 15 minutes, and 45 years of glorified cryptopornography in a Mouseketeer hat could have been avoided. Thanks for Bruce Willis's willie in some other Lesley Ann Warren movie that wasn't even a musical!

    The problem I see is 2 fold. The first is that the male focused properties actually ended up doing far better than the female focused properties. The envy from the Disney studio towards Lucasfilm and Marvel Studios can be felt.
    The second was if you can't beat them, join them happened. The feminists couldn't beat them, so they entered the studio's and took it over. R
