You are a wonderful teacher and resource. I've been playing jazz piano for many years and I've already broken through several creative plateaus thanks to your videos. Much gratitude!
Hi Noah, just discovered your channel. Great stuff. I’m a vibes player trying to develop my piano playing. We learned in school to use the diminished scale, or “ whole step, half step” scale, starting on the flat, nine of a dominant chord. In this video, you seem to be starting on the root, like you’re basing the exercises on C diminished rather than D flat diminished. Can you clarify this for me?
Hi! Just discovered your channel and music. I'am a bass player, but your piano stuff is really great to develop jazz awareness and skills for all musicians interested in subject. Subscribed! :)
@@NoahKellman i haven’t listened to it in ages, but at the very beginning there’s a diminished piano run. I’d appreciate if you could put notes for the licks in the video please
You play too fast to grasp what uou are doing although they are great idea. Slow it down and do a slow mo presentation. If you stay on one lock demonstrate it over a few times instead of whizzing through everything.

Wow thanks! Seems classical pianists use this technique, correct?
Not sure! I would imagine some classical composers have used this technique to create patternistic runs in their compositions.

Nearly whole tone scale?
I could swear I've heard these all over old Columbo episodes.
Hm haven’t seen it but very possible!
Your right, very Columbo sounding.
Just licks with the c diminished scale right
Right exactly. Each lick is a pattern moving up in minor thirds.
Intro Sounds ravel !!
Subscribed, liked, all of that and i dont even play piano 😂😂😂 thanks!!
Thanks, Maxi, much appreciated! Glad to have you as a subscriber, and Happy New Year!
I feel like this is all over the soundtrack to the first Predator movie 😅
It will take at least a year to do that. I'll better practice right now.
I bet you could do it sooner than you think 🤔😃
@@NoahKellman that's very encouraging 🙏🏼 Thank you master.
BRUH!!!!! WHAT THEEEE FUCK?! I CAN'T DO THIS 💩😂
You can do it just need a little practice!

Hey Peter, you can actually go into the RUclips settings and slow down the video so you can see everything more easily! Appreciate the feedback
