This video helped me out a ton. I am a Nintendo guy but have recently acquired 68 various Atari games and an Atari 7800 console that I have been researching. I have several with and several without the dust covers and didn't know if they were just missing or what. Thanks for all the info! A life saver!
I'm 14, I can't imagine what it would be like to be a 14 year old in the 80s seeing some sick ass picture thumbnail for a game and turning on your 2600 and just seeing a solid color backdrop with 3 pixels lmao, I got a atari with 6 controllers and 26 games, I don't have an adapter to show image on my TV so I don't know if it works, probably doesn't is I'll buy a atari itself and try them out, cant wait, I know graphic wise it's basically trash but for the experience it's cool
I had no idea that some cartridges had buttons !! 😰 And I thought the of Ebay's were selling the broken cartridges hahahaha (A greeting from Spain) THANK YOU 👍
There is actually another variant of silver labels, at least in the UK. The Atari logo is smaller and at the top right, with the game title on one line instead of two. Also the dust covers don't have locks and can be pushed down with the fingers. They tend to be from the vader/5200 era of the Atari's lifespan, 81-85 I think. Perhaps that's only in the UK though. The silver label variant you have seems to be from the jr/7800 era of the lifecycle, 86-91, as it has no dust cover. Edit - nevermind, 2 mins later you explained that with battlezone XD
M Network were one of the best third party manufactures.M Network was the brand name for Mattel. They made the Intellivision. The mostly made conversions of their Intellivision games made in house.
The dust cover cartridges were the best. These 3rd party publishers got rid of it and one can feel the downturn in quality. They don’t insert smoothly and easily as the original.

Great rundown. I have a few Zellers cartridges I should take a closer look at. Cheers.
