if you watched his back story, the song was perfect. he was bullied growing up and even at one point thought he was weird and didn't belong. Heartbreaking that a child would think that and that anyone made him feel that way
He came in 4th. Fourth. Unacceptable. This is no longer a talent contest. It's a popularity contest. Every time I watch his version I immediately get goosebumps and tears in my eyes. It's simply beautiful.
He came in second. I know, bummer. His first audition song was Somebody To Love by Queen, with only a light piano accompaniment. It's amazing too. Notice the silence? No whooping and noise during, and dead silence for four full beats at the end. THAT NEVER HAPPENS ON THIS SHOW. It's always a very noisy audience. When he's done you feel like you should be having a smoke in the dark.
I'll never forget the first time I watched this performance. Still have never heard complete silence like that at the end of a song on that show. Hauntingly beautiful.
Simon's comment after was that he'd made it a "performance" not just a song well done. He was right...the whole audience was rapt from the first note. You could have heard a pin drop, I think. Even just on the basis of this one song, he should have won, imo.
so glad you did this. This is an absolute must hear. Everyone on this planet deserves to hear the beauty, tenderness, the hurt, the pain and this song is just the perfect one for him... Awesome reaction. keep it up
I always love hearing BJC. He was one of my favorites and I wish he won, but he has gone far in life as it is. He always gives me chills. It’s also really cool listening to him with your eyes closed.
@@jasenyoface7555 Hi Jase...think Shin lim won champions, who is an extraordinary magician/illusionist...he actually did deserve it, not taking anything away from Brian who is just epic. I'm kind of glad he didn't win because then he wouldn't be tied to the management of the show.
I believe he finished in 4th his original season and made it to the finale in Champions. He was on one of the more stacked seasons, but the judges thought he should've placed higher
Wow! That was amazeballs! Also, I laughed out loud with your "they should call it sleep" comment before starting the video. Great dad joke for a vid posted on Father's Day.
His voice is just so amazing! He's very talented. I felt like the audience in the video while he was singing. I was mesmerized. I do like the thought bubbles.
He truly tells a story with his voice and this song. The emotion is so powerful. As you said he sounded like he was going to cry. Full on emotion. Thanks for the reaction. Love your comments, both vocal and printed. Your channel rocks! As another of your fans said, I have also checked out other reaction channels (purely for comparison purposes lol) and NO WAY do they come close to your amazing channel. Don't bother to check out any others anymore. A fan for life 😊 ROCK ON!!!
I have known him since the superfruit collaboration, I saw him on America’s got talent. ever since this performance he blows me away every time.and every time I see this video singing him creep, I always get goosebumps this never lets me down
Stumbled across your channel tonight. Have now watched 15 or so of your videos.. you have a new fan and subscriber. Don't want to be in the category that just likes to watch.....
Almost every person who watches this for the first time puts their hands to their face or touches their chest/heart. A natural response to both beauty and pain. I do it still!
I dig the thought bubbles! Or whatever visual you ultimately go with. They tend to be especially helpful to viewers who are not native English speakers and sometimes have trouble understanding native speakers. They're great from the standpoint of offering additional perspective also.
I think you're the first that I've seen who uses thought bubbles and I like it, especially when you add in your after-thoughts that we wouldn't otherwise have heard you mention :)
Check out Pau from the Warning. It's raw and amazing. Just her at home recorded with a phone. The none autotune emotional vocals will bring you to tears. It's a masterpiece. More The Warning 🤘👍
Oh, yes ! Song writer, composer, singer, drummer, pianist (and she's only eighteen), Paulina did this vid after an Instagram challenge. It's amazing ! You should react to this video.
Vincint Cannady did a great version of this song, Mimi and Josefin did, too! Grace VanderWaal won this season. She sung four of her originals during this competion! And she has a great voice! Now (2020) she is 16 years young! And she has made more music in the last years!
His studio version is not as vital (for lack of a better word) as the live performance Coming from me (a strong proponent of studio recordings) actually means something. There are few a cappella recordings that fall into that category, but this is one of them.
Oh, 2016? nope. That was the year that Grace VanderWaal won. It was almost no fair for anybody else in the competition that year, though there were some real special acts. Laura Bretan, Sal Valentinetti, Sofie Dossi, Calysta Bevier, Jon Dorenbos are all honorable mentions here.
I really loved your reaction to this! I understand the stunned silence, and think ur idea of the thought bubble was really smart! I believe he got 4th place. I would recommend Macklemore and Donna Missal's song 'Over It', but the RUclips greenroom sessions. Or Donna Missal's song "Keep Lying" Personally, I think you should do what feels right to you. If you need to pause and rewind because that's your vibe, then thats your vibe. Also, I dont know if I ever thanked you for the headphone recommendation. But I bought the pair u reccomended and I love them. So thank u!
@@jasenyoface7555 well I'll tell you this and just keeping it 100. I have watched hundreds of reactors. before today I was only subscribed to 1. It's 2 now. You have something a little different than most. Mark my words.... your numbers will continue to grow my man... keep it up
Loved this version. Since we're doing AGT, you should check out Angelina Jordan's Bohemian Rhapsody. Little girl from Norway you reacted to singing; "I put a spell on you" is 13 now and well her version got praise from the remaining members of Queen.
He was robbed of that championship. That little girl who couldn’t sing terribly well or play her little ukulele very well won because she’s a cute little girl. She should have won a kids’ version of the show. This guy is a monster performer. 🤩
I like the bubbles but I do love the pauses sometimes when it hits so hard. Like for Hamilton where you paused to react and literally had to rewind because you were shell-shocked 😉
His version of Man in the Mirror is pretty nice too. What I like most about this version of Creep, is that the audience makes not one peep. They stay quiet and just let his voice ring out. Makes me shiver every time
I loved this song the best he sings, i love the others but the creep is great! others have tried to sing it but he can't be Beat! Justin great job. Love You
The performance is fantastic. What absolutely clinches it, though, is at the end...when a room full of about 6,000 people is dead silent for three or four seconds because they're just (rightfully) gobsmacked.
You should check out this song by Mimi and Josefin. The sisters won 2019 The Voice Kids Germany und theire Blindaudition was stunning. Its the one to see an adult singing Creep, but two little girls? Wow! And when you do it, check out Harry Styles Sign of the Times from the Battles too. I know, it will give you goosebumps
I have to admit, after hearing him perform a superfruit I saw in the comments that he did this song, and I went to listen to it. I was absolutely floored. At first I thought he was taking this song quiet through the whole way, but then when he put the power behind his voice I was mesmerized. As for your after that I prefer the bubbles to the chalkboard. But either way doesn’t really affect me. Whatever works best and is easiest for you
You should check out Angelica Hale on AGT. She was on twice, she returned for the champions season. She was 9 when she first auditioned. You should watch the intro about her too. Her first audition was with Rise Up and she killed it.
Love the thought bubbles. I prefer them over the chalkboard. Less distracting from the main video, if you'd like constructive feedback. Your reactions don't disappoint!
He went out fourth from the finale. They had him back for the Champions show and he didn’t win that either. Go figure. One of the most versatile voices out there.
if you watched his back story, the song was perfect. he was bullied growing up and even at one point thought he was weird and didn't belong.
His voice is insane. The 2 seconds of silence after he ends is everything! I love the after thoughts!
This guy’s voice is absolutely stunning and I can’t get enough of him.

Blue The panning of the audience showing the looks on their faces and their body language during the performance gets to me as well
He came in 4th on this season.

Well..."cuter" isn't exactly what I was going for, but I'll take it 😄
@@jasenyoface7555 Loving the thought bubbles. A good non-intrusive way to really articulate some thoughts.

That silence at the end of the song is golden!!
I like the annotations that allow you to 'comment' without interrupting the song. Makes for a smoother viewing experience.
Your reaction is by far the best and I listen to this rendition several times a day

Idk why, but the swell of the song always brings me to tears! Such raw, powerful emotion - hands down, my favorite cover of this song.

The wave of emotions in this song is crazy. Its so beautiful and I'm glad you did this!!

I loved watching your review -- the wow factor is high here!

This was good, but the best version of "Creep" that I've ever hear is by Josi & Mimi on The Voice Kids. Their audition was truly amazing.
