Excellent and comprehensive review of those hotels and resorts , makes any travel accommodation for StLucia a breeze thank u for the fantastic video and for sharing
So glad it was helpful. Figuring out where to stay can be a lot of work - hopefully less so now. Stay tuned for Tulum, LA, Paris and Costa Rica posting soon.
We try to avoid chains like Sandals as we are focused on more boutique experiences - so we didnt have that on our list. We did stay at Cap Maison - and we have a video about that - that's in Rodney Bay. If you want something a bit lower cost and that has an all-inclusive option - then there's Tu Kaiye - we have a video about that too. Enjoy St Lucia
@@SwankGuide It was a Very Large Holiday Inn Resort. Last I heard, it got purchased by Sandals, with the title "Regency" but still with the name "La Toc", which is also still the name of the Road leading to it. There was another Holiday Inn north of the Airport, and it Also got purchased by Sandals. It's now named Halcyon Beach.
It seems to me that older folks wouldn't feel all that comfortable on islands that are very hilly not close to amenities like we see in St. Lucia. Even Jamaica isn't for us older folks trying to avoid noisy crowds, ships, and looking for a quieter atmosphere with amenities. We could be left with only Barbados.
Do you think it's worth $2000, and often $3000 or $4,000 a night? Yes the architecture and view are great - but at that price point the plastic outdoor chairs and chain hotel furniture give me pause. Would love to know what you love about it though. Thanks
@SwankGuide wondering the same!! Could it really be worth that much? Especially with some of the points you mentioned. The views do look top-notch, though....

Thanks for your comment
Great video!! You didn’t get to Anse Chastanet?
I did not... maybe this isn't fair but the furniture in the online pics looked so bad I couldn't justify the cost.
What are your thoughts on Sandals Grande in Rodney Bay?

About Jade Mountain Resort? Have you ever stayed there? I hear is one of the best in St. Lucia. Thanks...
Hi Victor - no sorry we didn't get there
Can’t wait
Have fun!
Did you go to Calabash Cove? I am wondering who "ripped you off" on your excursions
I did not go to Calabash Cove that I remember - have fun
Last time I went , there was a huge beach resort called "LaTok". Is it still there?
Not that I ever saw

@@MatthewFordVictoria Stayed at The Halcyon Beach back in 1992 and it was great..a pity is was changed to a Sandals chain..
No East Winds?
The beach is pretty protected - wind was not an issue when I was there in Juanuary
Looking at going for the month of February 2023, so I was wondering about airb+bs or short term rentals. Any recommendations?
nope sorry we only cover resorts/hotels
Which resort did you visit that was disappointing and not shown?
Hi Nab838. It was the Fond Doux Resort - have fun in St Lucia
Jade mountain?
Fair enough... I was there in Januray and Jade Mountian runs $2,500 a night... I dont think it's worth it but can't say for sure.

I'll try to get to Barbados soon
Ummm I want to go to all these places...
let's go
Jade is the best
