    Howdy Mojave
One big tip. TAKE YOUR TIME. You dont have to run through the game. Take as much time as you want in an area. Search every nook and cranny for collectibles. Look around and admire the awesome apocalyptic scenery. Take it all in. This is not an open word game like Red Dead. You will only pass by an area once. So enjoy, savor and marvel at one of the most profound gaming experiences ever made.

And pay attention to the companions. Listen to the optional dialog. It pisses me off to no end when people just speedrun on their first game, or they just care about collectibles instead of paying attention to the environment.
Sometimes you can wait and the enemies will walk away, and you can save ammo. But some people are used to dumb "shoot them up" games or something, and think they have to kill everyone.

Some tips! When you hear a deep and loud sound that sort of sounds like wind, that means an enemy is looking at you and is a signal to hide before they spot you. Once you hear a loud bam sound, that's the signal that they have spotted you are are currently coming for you.
The melee weapons are very useful but they don't last forever. The melee weapons have health bars that show up above them when you find them on the ground. If you already have a melee weapon on your back, it will display its health underneath yours in the bottom right. Some melee weapons have more health than others before breaking, it's always good to swap out your weapon for another one with better health to make sure it doesn't break as quickly.
Clickers are blind and cannot see you, normal infected however; can see you so it's best to hide when you encounter them. It's best to crouch while attempting to stealth kill an enemy to prevent them from hearing you.
When your flashlight goes out, you can shake the controller to fix it.

    Some gameplay tips:
    1) Remember to use listen mode (hold R1 I think?) during enemy encounters to see how many enemies, what type they are and to track their movement.
    2) If you aren't sure where to go to leave an area, there are often times subtle yellow markers like a ledge, ladder rung, or caution tape blowing in the wind. Look for yellow.
    3) Don't feel like you have to rush through an area just because your companion is walking away. Look around for loot/ammo/parts, and there are notes/artifacts to find that flesh out the story. Companions won't leave you behind unless it's a set piece like when you had to chase after Robert at the wharf.

Hi Mojave! An interesting fact about this game is that the fungus that infects humans and turns them is real and exists in the real world. It’s called cordyceps and only infects instects, mostly ants. They take control over their brain, turning them info mindless creatures, compels them to seek higher ground from where the fungus can release spores to infect other nearby hosts. The game is a question of ‘what if’ the cordyceps evolved into infecting humans. It’s pretty scary, and this fact really sets the game apart from other ‘zombie’ games or movies out there!
1:55:42 And I’m so glad you noticed Joel looking at his watch, so many people miss that but it’s such a subtle and powerful detail that should tell a lot about how he’s feeling in that moment!

Some tips for gameplay and more story:
    1. Look for yellow paint or caution tape, etc. That's usually their clue to show you which way continues the storyline.
2.Anyone you're traveling with will wait for you if you want to explore for loot.
3.Random conversations can start if you're standing next to your friends (not the NPCs in the towns, just Ellie, etc.) A triangle will appear over them. These will go away relatively quickly so if you see one, do that before looting or moving away. Sometimes it's just small talk and sometimes it's backstory to the character you're talking to.
4.Take your time to look around. The scenery is phenomenal and Naughty Dog is really good at the little details.
    You're doing great!!

  • @framesofscreen
    @framesofscreen 5 месяцев назад +18

    Hello!
I don't know if anyone's mentioned this yet, but since the Last Of Us is a Linear game, the game levels and story will follow from A to B, whereas Red Dead games are Open World - giving the player a bit more leeway and freedom of choice in which direction they want to follow. An intended pathway will be present in Last Of Us levels that subtly guide the player.
When your flashlight goes out and the little controller icon on the bottom left means you can give your controller a little bump (like back in the day when the tv or radio wasnt working properly) to turn the light back on.
live streaming sounds like a great idea! and perfect for your content to be uploaded once the streams ended. even your little moments of storytimes are interesting and makes your channel unique from others.
The recently infected (Runners) aren't blind and can see you. The clickers are blind. All infected are sensitive to sounds, so stealth is key. This is why in many levels, it's not always necessary to kill all enemies - some levels can have you avoid as much combat as possible and stealth your way out.
Don't feel too pressured to maximise every bit of the game. This is a survival genre; the resources given will be scarce, but each sections will have spots that give you some loot to pick up, by design. you wont miss out on important things like Red Dead because you can't come back - all important things will be directly a part of the mission or cinematics, some missable things (like the safe or notes) are for extra details, but not necessary. So if you miss it, its not important.
craftable items will be in parts - every blade will be 1/2 or 1/4 of a blade and once you get enough you can craft with other items like a shiv or health kit.
Food items like candy bars have a cross icon and are only instant heals, you can't store them but if you have lower health you can pick them up to heal immediately.
and remember to have fun with healthy breaks as much as you need! these videos are quite enjoyable and entertaining. great stuff.

Some gameplay tips for dealing with clickers:
Yes, they are blind and unable to see you, but if you stick around too close, they'll eventually detect you due to echo location. Best to keep your distance!
The lighter you push the movement stick, the quieter you will move, which can help to sneak past clickers.
You cannot choke them out like other infected. In order to kill them quietly, you will need a shiv.
Clickers are quite tough enemies, so if you are spotted, it might be better to use your gun.
Side note, I found your channel recently and I've been enjoying these videos a lot, so thank you!

You can hold L1 to sprint, and press R2 while NOT aiming to reload. You should press square to melee enemies more, as it uses less bullets, and you don't have to aim. You can press R1 to listen, which is REALLY helpful, it gives you a visual based off of what Joel hears, even through walls, making you kind of like a clicker. Also the reason that the revolver was weird with the ammo is because you can interrupt the reload midway through, and as Joel reloads one bullet at a time, if you spam it Joel will only load 1 bullet.

The "zombies" in this game aren't really zombies. There is this fungus in real life called the cordyceps fungus that affects insects like ants in a similar way that it does to humans in the game. The premise of the game is basically, ok, what if this fungus can affect human beings as well?
The people are also not dead either, like the traditional zombie. They are still alive and in the beggining phases, they are even concious. You can hear them screaming things out like "no" and "I don't want to eat you" and stuff like that as the fungus forces them to do those things. The fungus is also eating them alive from the inside out. It's a fate truly worse than death.
Anyways, I love your playthrough and I love your stories and commentary! The best videogame player on there on youtube!

they're all just sick people who have fallen victim to evil mushrooms. TLoU has my favorite zombie-causing- disease concept of all time. it's possibly the most realistic I've ever seen from fiction so far. a sudden outbreak of a fungal infection that quickly causes the collapse of civilization and near extinction of the human species doesn't seem too far from reality.

    • @Wandering_Nowhere
      @Wandering_Nowhere 5 месяцев назад +4

This is what makes the infection in TLOU games scariery than being a typical zombie. The people are still "there". Runners IIRC are the earliest stage, I remember pausing the game in photo mode just to see the expressions on their faces. They looked scared, in pain. The infection was torturing them from the inside, changing their behaviour but all the while still fully aware. Imagine sleep paralysis but instead of being motionless on a bed, you're tearing apart people and possibly those you love, given how fast the outbreak took off.

    • @PeptoAbismol
      @PeptoAbismol 5 месяцев назад +5

@@Wandering_Nowhere they're still even somewhat conscious during the clicker stage of the infection. if left alone, you can watch them claw at the fungus growing out of their skull. they're still trying to fight it any way they can, even if it's too late. ending them at any stage of infection is a mercy killing.

Also when your battery runs out on your flashlight you'll see the controller prompt on the bottom left. I believe you shake the controller a bit to recharge it. (I'm still watching the video. *Looting and Fighting Tips*:
Although the game isn't giving you materials at every turn, keep looking around. There are important items that you won't find if you if you don't scavange. If you're more full on items, like if you have 3 out of 3 medkits and a couple pairs of scissors and some shivs, the game tends to give less items. You don't have to be as sparring with ammo because your not on a high difficulty. When you run out, the game will generate more. When in combat, its a good idea to run and hide instead of fighting sometimes if there are too many enemies. The run button is L1. If you get out of the line of sight, you can hide and go back into stealth. The white lines that appear in the center of the screen mean the enemy is starting to see you so you and It gives you where they are based on if the line is appearing above Joels head meaning they are in front of you or below meaning they are behind you. You also have listen mode with R1 to see where the enemies are. Shivs are not necessary to kill clickers, you can use your pipe or plank to kill them. Hand to hand combat is pretty effective throughout this game. *Shooting is most effective when from a distance*. It's a lot easier to hit square than to try to aim with your gun when enemies are too close. *Defintely rely on your fists more.*
    *Direction*:
When it comes to direction, the characters will follow you always in a combat area, so if there are infected, or if there are soldiers they will follow you. They also always crouch and are tense. When there is no combat they wont go outside of where you are supposed to go. So if you start going the right way and then all of a sudden they stop following you, that not the right way anymore. BUT that's ok because it give you the opportunity to loot before the story has to progress.
    *Pacing*:
Also take your time to explore this game isn't too long so enjoy it while you can. The safe that you missed had a combination written down on a piece of paper but you would have had to look around the area some more. Take things at the pace you want to we aren't rushing you to progress the story😂 Glad to see you're liking the game.
Also the run button is always L1 but when you're not in combat or a chase, you cant sprint because they want you to look around.

I don't recommend it. Manually picking items up (hold triangle near a pile of items so you don't have to press triangle 5 separate times) makes it so people are keeping track of what they're picking up, makes them keep on planning for what they wanna craft.
I've seen people turn on that auto-pickup feature and become utterly careless about looting and crafting. I tried it myself when I played both games on the hardest difficulty, and it completely threw me off. I switched back to manually picking stuff up.

This feature ducks the game footage audio when D is talking, and raises the game's volume back up when D is not talking, to create an overall balanced audio mix. It's an easy a-few-clicks post-processing thing in the editor

    Tips for the game:
    1. If you don't have shivs to kill clickers you have to kill them with headshot(takes two bullet to do it mostly)/or shoot in their leg so they fall down, run close to them and then click square to smash their head/ you can use melee weapon to kill them. - works also with other infected/npc
    2. If you alert clickers you have to get some distance and then shoot them. Getting distance with infected is essential for surviving
    3. You can throw bottle/break at the infected/other npc to stun them. While they are stunned you can run closer to them, kill them in stealthy way (if you did't alert anyone prior) by clicking triangle or you can kill them loudly by clicking square (it will alert npc near you)
    4. You share loot between two different types of ammo (for example: health kit = molotov) it is important to decide carefully what you are going to make by using supplies.
    5. If you want to kill most infected at once, you can throw a bottle to a place you want them to gather at (they will run to the sound), and when they gather, you use molotov by throwing at this place (If you don't want to deal with them one by one)
    6. The shivs have limited durability and they are used every time you kill clickers or other npcs. you can make the shivs or you can find them sometimes in the area you are passing through
    7. When you find ammo and the game tells you that you are full it means you can not longer take these particular ammo. The rule of the game: you have just enough ammo to survive. So there is a limit.
    8. If you run out of the bullets. You can reload by clicking R2 (only)! Joel takes time to reload so make sure you have enough distance between you and enemies. (I mostly run around until Joel reloads if enemies are infected, if you are against npc people you have to hide for bit to reload)

Revolver is more powerful than the 9mm but ammo is rarer.
Shivs are a rare resource. You can use them to unlock locked doors, but also to save yourself if you get grabbed by a clicker. So, you’ve really gotta decide when and where to use them.
    L1 is your sprint button.
You can see when an enemy has noticed or is about to notice you by the white come that is displayed on the screen. It also shows what direction the enemy is at. You’ll also hear a sound cue.
Always stay stealthy when around clickers. They can hear every little sound. Including when you take out other enemies nearby.
When your flashlight goes out you literally need to shake your actual controller :)
To open locked safes you’ll need to find the combination. It’s usually hidden somewhere in the area. It could be a note or written on a wall etc.
When enemies are up close it’s best to use your melee attack rather than try to shoot. If they get too close Joel won’t be able to shoot his gun.

  • @SQUATCHY84
    @SQUATCHY84 5 месяцев назад +1

You were right about the safe, you can find the combination in the area.
Dont forget about your listening mode by holding R1, it comes in handy and if you see ammo that says full make sure you are fully reloaded, R2 without aiming, then you can pick up more.

It's good practice to regularly check how many bullets you have in this game. The reason your revolver didn't start with 6 rounds in it is because you interrupted Joel's reload animation by interacting with the workbench. When you reload in combat, Joel will load it round by round and if you fire a shot in the middle of this it will interrupt him, meaning you will only have one or two shots ready.

MojaveD, so you know every time you die and restart from a check point, it is possible that sometimes the desk you
searched before that was empty can now have something in it. It is randomize. Also remember hold R1 for listing mode
by doing this you will see a white shadow of ( the people around you ) even the bad guys. So gives you a idea of where
someone maybe at the moment, but it has a limited field, but can be upgraded thought gameplay using supplements you find.
