This just shows you how underrated Fat Mike is as a bass player
Oh man, the bass sounds on So Long are just incredible.
That's why I admire Fat Mike as bassist, he is a referent for me, and his energy on stage never cooled down.
So awesome dude. You're one hell of a bassist!
Thanks! ;)
This is some excellent work here, good on you! Fat Mike is an incredible bassist and you highlight this big time. I'm a massive fan of NOFX and you pull it off with ease.
Sick :) I'm not a musician so I never realised which parts of NOFX' music was actually bass. I was surprised!
Dude you got skills!! NOFX just never stop delivering awesomeness
ah yeah man been loving nofx since about 97 or so? unfortunately it hasn't been playing around in the house or car too much lately.. but hearing all those songs again re lit that interest even more! wicked playing man, and thanks for the video take care
Been a huge NOFX fan and guitarist for some 20 years. You seem to have listened to this band quite a lot too. Very nice playing, and following all tempo changes
this is so cool! good job, im sharing this.
very cool video ! Great
the bass lines are sometimes pretty complex for punk rock
Long live Fat Mike !
Bravissimo! Gran tributo e complimenti!
Great player, nice job!
Nicely done man!
Amazing!! Thank you
hi michele! I'm very impressed, really good job! Thanks for upload!

Thank you for doing the right thing👍

This is so impressive. Those weren’t easy
I'd really like to see a full cover of "The Death of John Smith" by you!
ruclips.net/video/Di2ukrqkAQs/видео.htmlsi=dsDsPSWtz8CzMaq1 you didn't specified that would be on bass 😂
tearin it up!!
Loved it
Nice one
Very impressive sir
First of all good job on the video. I liked it. Why? Because its thorough, and you clearly deserve my like for taking your time time to produce it.
Second, on a more personal note, I used to be in a metal band. It's funny but I realize how much Fat Mike influenced my bass playing and tone even if I was in a "metal" band. It was freaking punkish.
+sinn633 I agree with you. I play in a metal band, but I've got totally influenced by fat mike in my early years of learning playing bass. I think Mike was one of the first punkers who wanted really to stop sucking at playing music, and that was the key to the success for Nofx and many other bands from fat wreck chords. Sadly, in a way, this is possibly what actually killed "punk rock", because the generations after them were a lot better musicians thanks to their influences. And when you mix good playing with good sense of music, usually the result is something more complicated than punk, and so metal-core, new-metal, extreme tech metal came out....
sensacional !!
Grandissimo
Beautifull
man ...this is great that u took the time to put them and learn the order...how much time did it take u to learn the hole songs together? amazing passionate work...one true nofx fan......like me....cheers from Mexico
That's what's up, god damn straight thumpin
Nice

Epic. just restrung the the DC after seeing this
WOW!
Daje
Billy Sheehan bass back there
NICE :o :O :o
Epico
fucking awesome!
This rocks! Do you have a band?
fucking goooood job!
is that a Billy Sheehan Signature bass I see in the background? anyway, nice covers man.
+Yuuki Onozawa definitely ;)
dat bass.
Fucking great
men you should make tabs for all of these ones
this is good under the influence of bass in course.
People always mention Matt Freeman as far as Punk bassists, Fat Mike is just as good, if not better. Yes Mike has never really had a solo as mind blowing as "Maxwell Murder", but his bass lines are great!
Slippy Jones Fat Mike has way more groove than Freeman.
Freeman knows his scales and plays them REALLY FAST.
Mike plays with more feel and emotion. Well thought-out riffs.
Basically, like you said, Freeman is good, but Mike is better. I think he’s underrated because he’s such a jerk.
Slippy Jones yes I agree 💯
None of them is even close to Karl Alvarez
both great players, in my opinon they are the 2 best punk bass players: Freeman plays faster or at least more technical basslines than Fat Mike because he doesn't sing as Fat Mike does.
On the other hand, Fat Mike has more groove when he plays in the instrumental parts.
@@michelegrassi4385 Matt Freeman has a band called Devils Brigade and I'm pretty sure he sings and plays
surprised I'm Going to hell for this one isn't here 😂
Fuckin a man. Sounds so sick.
Actually Reeko was Melvin on bass.
Deltassippi wow
Only live
BOA MOLEQUE .... KEEP THIS SHIT ALIVE....BRAZIL !! #NOFX
i pretty much hate fat mike at this point but he was a badass bass player. I love the bass and this video is badass
What settings do you use to get his tone?
With Line6 Mesa amp simulation and distortion pedal simulation with 25% overdrive. EQ with a lot of bass and treble. This will get you a cool versatile tone. Playing gently the tone is clean, when you want more distortion you play stronger.
Thanks! Nicely done. And on a 5 string no less. I was a little hesitant to see NOFX played on a 5 string to be hones, but you pulled it off like a champ.
forgot to mention a minus 1
so, youre 5th chord is actualy a smaller one ?
Yep
Filthy!!!!!!!!!! so good!
@davie504
so annoying...play an entire song!!
