Stern made both Berzerk and Frenzy. Atari just had the license and the current owner of Atari bought the rights to both. They wouldn’t let NWT put the Stern logo anywhere on the machine. That’s why it’s missing the logos in 2 places.
@@Brad-D The irony is that Atari isn’t the same Atari that made a lot of arcade games. It’s just a company who bought the Atari name and decided to name themselves Atari. From what NWT says, Atari had a problem with the Stern logos on it which I thought was weird because it wasn’t initially an issue, otherwise NWT wouldn’t have put them on the prototype.
@@The_RifsterI think that it is actually Stern that is not allowing their logo to be used on devices that they do not create. Atari was willing to work with NWT to create an Atari logo that looks like the Stern logo, but since they could not get approval to recreate the Stern logo, they left it as a decal you can choose to add or leave off (or find a Stern logo using your own resources).
