I love that in the middle of all the disturbing horror and chaos, there’s just one guy who’s having a bed bug problem.
It disturbing horror and chaos if an infestation causes mental health sequelae. And/or you're allergic and have an anaphylactic reaction.
bed bugs are horrifying as well. Don't underestimate them.

That mothers call is the worst because (if I remember correctly) her first call clearly indicates that her child is already gone. So even if you give her right answer she’s still gonna be destroyed by grief. We just wouldn’t hear it.

As far as I can tell, the noises were just bothering them a lot. The whistling fungi should be completely harmless apart from structural damage to the house. It's like the Fracture Hobb if it couldn't metamorphose.
The entry said something about leaving immediately if the fungi start harmonizing. My theory is that it's the fungi responding to something worse entering the house... maybe they're welcoming something.
Tbh i think howard's death was the most sad and brutal like the thing managed to attack him and plant something inside to burst his head all over the place.... he surely didnt deserve that.
I think ash one is most painful and sad since he'll have live his entire life while being in pain
Yeah, Howard had pissed off some spriggans, so one broke into his house and since it managed to get a touch in on him, a sprig tree began to grow inside of him.
I can't imagine it feels pleasant to have a literal tree growing rapidly inside of your body, splitting your bones, breaking your skin, tearing your muscle and destroying your organs while all you can do is stay away from others to ensure they don't have it spread to them.
fun fact: trees cant grow inside body because no sun, therefore howard actually had like, a really massive headache and stomachache. like, just massive. dont worry guys he totally didnt die.

It's definitely phenomenal puzzle game design for a game like this, to give you the answer if you're really struggling and get a game over, and otherwise to give you a much easier time when you go ahead and replay the game.
Like the unicorn dog one, that one was incredibly hard to get first try to me, I almost guessed it but then they told you about the horn in the 2nd call which confirmed it.

I think it varies tbh, tho at worst it's really just good voice acting but putting on a silly voice, which isn't the worst thing ever
Conceptually, it's a little funny to me that the lady was constantly wailing at that high level the whole time she was dialing the phone and waiting for the representative to pick up her call.
Some felt very easy to guess but at the same time they throw you off quite well by doing repeats or putting in bedbugs after already having been introduced to many supernatural things. Funny how the real pests were sometimes the hardest to guess though.
That's how reality works sometimes. The most obvious answer is usually the best and just because you've heard of something now, doesn't mean it will come up. Common sense, really.

The worst one for me (which doesnt just murder you) is the memory whisp as the only way to get rid of it is too just forget everything. Like while some others will kill you. the memory whisps kills YOU like you are no longer the person you once were. you have lost everything you were. your just someone new now.
It's even worse when the Memory Wisps are advised as the only possible solution for the False Artifact after it has captured somebody

10:47 Jules - Soap Sprite gave him Fae Flu, even if it ate his usual microbes from his skin clean and beneficially.
11:03 Brittany - Wine Sprite drank all her wine and broke all the bottles in her cellar, and she also contacted Fae Flu.
11:27 Ruth - Wood Secretions had touched her kids and then paralyzed them into lifeless treefolk, having bark skins, bleeding more sap. Sigh... T_T
11:58 Howard - Spriggan, having seen the former's unintentional harm onto surroundings, is provoked and angrily implanted him a fatal vine growth inside his head, until he exploded.
12:22 Jay - Autumn Vines's pheromones fully brainwashed her into killing her brother, and they together rule the domain. That's...awfully evil!
12:41 Jill - Neighbor's Doorway fully made her suffer from "parallelism", still believing that her own family is not her family (Thus the doorway warped her mind into seeing a "pretentious" neighbor instead of real family). So her family committed her into mental hospital, while she screams to resist the confinement.
13:07 Claire - Fae Feast is angrily forcing her to eat their pile of feast that's getting bigger when it was ignored, until she suffers food poisoning.
13:26 Paul - Bed Bugs made his kids itch. It's a common pest problem.
13:39 Charles - Leprechaun pulled off his son's dental braces gruesomely and painfully, since it consumes silver, gems, and other valuables. Possibly it made a weapon out of those to attack him.
13:58 Edward - Troll is stalking around his home unresolved, so he, having received the wrong info from HSH, had to defend himself and hunt it with his rifle.
14:37 Sheila - Tea Sprite, while giving her Fae Flu, got her face from her teacup.
15:01 Christie- Bed Hag caused her and her husband severe sleeping disorders, so she recommended not to call HSH but doctors.
15:30 Carla - Whistling Fungi inhibited her into singing weirdly, unable to come back into senses.
15:39 Rachel - Pooka copied her dog Meatball after it turned him into a lifeless and rotten body (implying it had already killed him) to fool his owner, and it scared her and then attacked her, ignoring her pet commands.
Wonderfully helpful and probably interesting to new viewers of the game, apart from 2 slight issues.
Gary and the Boggart's time stamp is at 3:24, while it should be 4:24.
The Pooka did not turn Meatball into a rotten, standing body. The Pooka killed and copied the appearance of Meatball, the corpse is very much dead and decaying.
One addition as well. With Charles, the reason his kid's mouth was bleeding was because it most likely ripped out the kid's braces. Its attracted to shiny metal things, which includes any sort of metallic implants inside someone's mouth. The kid was crying and screaming in pain from the mouth injury.

Yeah Jackson Maxwell did amazing on May I got goosebumps to how she just screamed in sorrow and grief if the voice actor ever gets more roles in voice acting on other shows and games, I will be very happy
She literally did need to perform that hard. That was her job and this was analog horror, and it was effective.

I’m surprised that we don’t have any calls that ask for help with utility issues or house fires, but turn out to have to do with Boggarts. Honestly those guys spook my something fierce, the artists did a great job.

@@invaleisme That one was about another supernatural issue, in this case some magical squatter deciding to make a cellar grotto underneath the caller’s property.

?? gary calls about a boggart, its the last call of wednesday. also, most of the callers with hobbs hint towards them becoming boggarts in their follow up calls when you fail (Dan sees it transform while hes on call with you, Leo gets his basement flooded, Robert has a power outage) i can see why you wouldnt count the fail calls, but Gary did call about one in his initial call.

There needs to be more calls for the unused entries. The reanimation and seedlings were missed potential.

The fact that even when she found her dead dog,
she was still telling the monster thing she would’ve said to her dog like it would help.
Her genuine panic and the noise of the monster in the background scares me every times.
if it makes you feel better the entry for the Pooka actually says theyre (relatively) harmless to humans, biggest danger is the decaying body of the original pet luring in pests and disease. The Pooka just thrives off of attention and fear, so shes either unharmed or suffered very minor wounds at the most.

May's call was incredibly horrifying and Hanks was very out of left field (in a good way), but I can't help but feel particularly bad for Andy. The way he was so panicked about being bitten by the Lamp Sprite and how he was so scared when he asked if he was going to die just made me feel so bad for the guy. The voice actors really did a stellar job in this game, kudos to them.
May's one is probably the most disturbing and sad one, but Ruth's one is sad too.
Man, as a parent myself, May, Albert and Ruth sound the most heartbreaking to me.

Checked out this game and it's suprising how you can easily forget that it's supposed to be an analog horror. So long as you don't pick the wrong answers it's surprisingly cozy and going through the file entries is as if you brought a fantasy book along to keep you entertained.

Patty's call at 10:40 always freaked me out. She seems to be so calm and at ease, yet the fact she tries to call us back makes me wonder if part of her doesn't like this. It's also very ironic that she mimics the standard voicemail message, but she's the one calling us.
The real question is do firearms work since bullets are made of metal or does only cold weapons like iron swords based on that hiking documentary work against fae
I believe it has to be Cold Iron. So bullets probably will have little effect.

you can actually hear edward load and shoot a firearm during the call about the troll at 14:00. i think the sounds afterwards are of the troll inflating and knocking things over as it does, so bullets don't work for that creature, at least.

False artifact is the scariest one
Why ? I am genuinely curious why you find it being the worst of them all.
For me, the false artifact kills you at least, I think that the one that let you live, but passively torture you are worse. Like the Puka or the night gnome. You can't even make them leave, you just have to support them until they are bored by you, if they become bored.

@@w1ndgeneral226well the way false artifacts work is that they lure their prey with a buzzing sound that can only be heard by their prey. once their prey get close enough, the false artifact would encase its prey inside itself where it would slowly digest their prey while blocking out their screams. Luckily the digestion process takes only a hundred years to fully digest their prey...however the prey would just die from starvation.
@@Kingdo_RGT actually no, False Artifacts don’t kill its prey directly, but traps them inside itself to slowly digest over the span of years, it even says in the danger section that victims will starve long before this process is complete, at least with most of the others you can kinda get used to their antics or get killed more immediately

False Beet guy and False Artifact mom were fucked either way. Once you eat a false beet, you can't get it out. Once a child gets trapped inside, it's not getting out. The only consolation for giving them the correct info is not hearing their demise over the wire several minutes later

Alright, the best reason I could think of is this: Given how Attic Gnomes expel their contents violently when frightened, I assume everything it ate kinda just sprayed out like a water jet or bullet, which probably hit Belinda in the head and split it open 😭
Since the attic gnome expels all of the contents of their stomach when scared; it could have caught Belinda by surprise which could have caused her to slip or fall (since she's going up to the attic), and she could have hit her head and either died or gone unconscious.

The Pooka messes with me on a psychological level, the fact your dog can be killed and replaced by some malicious entity without your knowledge is just so scary to me. It weirdly horrifies me more than the false artifact. At least with the false artifact there is someway to prevent it, with the pooka you have no knowledge of it until your dog is already long gone. Maybe the reason I find the Pooka call more horrifying than the false artifact call is that vinesauce (the person who’s playthrough I was watching) kept calling her kid Jerma. Either way, whoever decided to have the mother call after her killed had already died is a sicko.

I feel bad for Rachael in any possibility, it weirdly hits me hardly than the false artifact one. Either way her dog is dead which goes for the false artifact but the fact that her puppy was killed by something she couldn’t prevent and without her knowing is honestly just so depressing.
