they do get together just off book/screen! When he tells her what the necklace means and leaves it for her, she accepts it and chases after him. The only reason Jonathan didn’t write the romantic epilogue/ending is because he’s said that he doesn’t like writing romance as a primary in his books so he prefers to allude to it :)

oh hello look at my new ship obsession!! I love how they were hinted throughout the season, but they don't get together within the first season. i'm a SUCKER for subtle but obvious romantic ships like lockwood x lucy! even more so they're partners-in-investigation!
next season I'm gonna need more people around them just pointing out how they're made for each other. in just the first season, people only teased lockwood's feelings about lucy and ofc he denied. when the SKULL points out locklyle were acting like a couple and george was left behind, lucy doesn't acknowledge the couple part at all and only asked about george. lucy's better at the in-denial thing (or she's just oblivious) compared to lockwood lol
I thought Lockwood knows he fell for her but they did nothing for some reason.
Is there a second season?
According to the books that's Lucy who is crazy about Lockwood, and Antony is more aloof. I am so glad that it's more different here.
Also it would be nice to see more interaction between Lucy and the Skull, because actually according to books again there has to be quite a love triangle. And a lot of jealousy.
And of course the moment when Lucy leaves the team has to be heartbreakingly brilliant. I want to see Antony's reaction already.
