I've enjoyed watching your reactions to these films, and with you announcing that you plan to watch Lord of the Rings, I will be watching your reactions to those too. My only request is that you PLEASE PLEASE watch the Extended editions, rather than the theatrical cut. The Extended Editions are not just a move with a load of deleted scenes, because of the length of the released versions, a lot of scenes were removed for the theatre release. So instead of just tacking them on at the end, the scenes were put back in the movie, where they should have been, and the music was rescored over them.
The new scenes add a depth to the movies, as well as some more light hearted moments. And we are not talking 5 or 10 minutes extra, we are talking over 40 minutes of extra film. Personally, I prefer the Extended edition every time.
And if you're in to it and have an extra 9 hours (per movie), to sit through the appendices, showing all the different aspects of how they put the movie together, from the adaptation, location hunting in New Zealand, filming, cast, costumes, models, sets, armour, etc. It's well worth watching.

Snape's memories are, for me, the most beautiful and painful scene of the series. It makes me cry every single time I see him walk into the room and see Lily's body. It breaks my heart , you can actually see the pain in his face. Snape is my absolute favorite character!
There is no light without darkness , and he was a bit of both 🖤 love drove him until the end .. a hero ..
On another note, what a journey it has been!

yes indeed, alothough of that scene it's Lily's last words to baby Harry that are particularly affecting. But yes, Snape is ther hero, a man who sacrificed everything. He's forced to play the part of a villian, potentially with his blackened forever.
On a different note, James Potter looks more and more like John Lennon.

Interestingly (perhaps) in the book, Snape's response to Dumbledore was "The boy?" - followed by the patronus. So, basically, no, Snape had NOT come to care for the boy, but he always had cared for Lily. Too bad for him, I guess, that he had to call her a mudblood.

Some clarifications for the final movie:
    1) In the book, it is explained that by sacrificing himself Harry performed the same thing that his mother did to him when he was a baby. In her case, she shouted: "Not Harry! Kill me instead!" And Voldemort did, this is why he could not even touch Harry before the resurrection ritual. Harry also gave himself up and granted protection to those who fought for him at Hogwarts (in the book, for instance, Voldemort tried to tie Neville up with a spell, but it did not work).
    2) When Nagini approaches to Ron and Hermione, Ron shoots green blasts at her. Only one spell is approved to provide such an effect, and it is Avada Kedavra. It was done to underline that Ron was desperate and ready to do anything to protect himself and Hermione.
    3) Initially, there was to be one more character at Platform 9 3/4 in the end. It was to be Dudley, because JK Rowling wanted his children to be wizards at first (because Aunt Petunia had the recessive gene of magic and passed it to her son, and then it could manifest like this), but the she changed her mind, because "nothing could take over Uncle Vernon's DNA". (By the way, the full names of Harry's and Ginny's kids are James Sirius, Albus Severus and Lily Luna).
    4) When young Albus enters the train, a chocolate frog jumps onto the window. Remember the scene at the first movie, when Harry opened a chocolate frog, and it escaped through the window? The cycle has begun anew

    1) One of the interesting theories: Voldemort represents the first brother of the tale of the Deathly Hallows (he died because of his power lust), Snape is the second brother (he died because of the woman he loved), and the third one is Harry as he greeted death like an old friend, which makes Dumbledore the Death since he had all three hallows and led them to death. Although JKR didn't intend it, she absolutely loved this theory.
    2) JKR has said that George could never conjure Patronus after Fred's death because his happiest memories were with Fred.
3)Harry lost his Parseltongue after he was killed because the part of Voldemort had died in him.

I think I forgot to mention in my other comment, and yes, I did come back to watch this reaction a second time, but you are the only reactor who recognized the significance of Snape telling Harry he has his mother’s eyes before the memory reveal. And the you are only one who mentions it during Snape’s memories. I’ve seen this movie so many time and knowing what’s coming makes Snape’s death seen absolutely heartbreaking. That the last thing Snape sees are Lily’s eyes and that it is the last thing he says to Harry AND the only gentle, even tender, words he ever speaks to to him, I mean, rip my heart in two! This movie is so good!

  • @michelemolina3010
    @michelemolina3010 Год назад +4

Great video!! Here’s some differences from the books or interesting details:
In the book, Voldemort actually complements Neville. He tells Neville how he will make a valuable death eater because he is very brave and comes from noble blood.
Bellatrix is the one who kills Tonks. Bellatrix is Tonks’ aunt because Tonks’ mother is Bellatrix’s sister. You can briefly see her name “Andromeda” is burned off the Black Family Tree in the 5th Movie.
In the movie you’d don’t see when Lily and Snape meet James and Sirius for the first time on the Hogwarts express and when Snape apologizes to Lily for calling her a mudblood. Lily then says that she’s tired of making excuses for Snape’s actions.
Voldemort can tell when people lie to him. Idk if it’s a theory or not, but the reason Voldemort couldn’t detect Narcissa lied about Harry dying is because of her love for Draco. Love something that Voldemort can’t understand
Fred and George ran a radio show while the Golden Trio was on the run. The show was called “PotterWatch” and they would use it to dispel lies about Harry and Voldemort. They would also use it to make fun of Voldemort and Death Eaters. In order to avoid being caught they’d transmit from different locations each time, you’d have to point your wand at the listening device and say the password (which changed each time), they also didn’t transmit everyday. They’d also encourage people to defend muggles and announce the names of people campfires or killed by Death Eaters.
There’s a part in the book in which McGonagall refuses to give information about Harry to one of the Death Eater teachers and the teacher spits in her face. Harry sees this and uses the Cruciatus curse on them.

In the book, when they are in the vault, it wasn't only the Gemini (multiplying) curse that was added. They had also added the Flagrant curse, making every object in there (and the multiplications which were worthless) to be boiling hot. So while they were getting crushed by the flood of metal, it was also burning them excruciatingly. It was described to feel like the inside on a fully functioning oven.
Also, they only send the Slytherin students to the dungeons because that's where their common room and dormitories are, not to be locked up.

This is what happened in the 19 years since:
Ginny and Harry have 3 kids: James Sirius Potter, Albus Severus Potter, and Lily Luna Potter. Also, Harry is the godfather of Teddy Lupin. After graduating Hogwarts, Ginny played professional Quidditch for a few years, until she retired to start her family, and she has since started working for the Daily Prophet in the sports session.
Ron and Hermione have 2 kids: Rose and Hugo.
Draco Marries Astoria Greengrass, a pure-blood. They have a son named Scorpius Malfoy. Draco has since changed his ways, as he doesn’t believe in the whole blood purity thing anymore and neither does his wife. He vows not to be like his father and shows his son love, affection and support. A sad thing is that Draco's wife passed in 2019 due to a long-standing blood curse in her family that caused her body to become fragile, and she knew she would die eventually, and because of that, she pushed to have a child, despite the fact that childbirth was dangerous for her, because she didn't want to Draco be alone after her death.
After the war, McGonagall became Headmistress of Hogwarts and Neville works there as a Herbology Teacher. Neville also married Hannah Habbott, a Hufflepuff, while Luna married Rolf Scamander, the grandson of Newt Scamander (Protagonist of Fantastic Beasts). Umbridge was sentenced to life in Azkaban for her crimes against Muggle-borns.
Kingsley became Minister of Magic after the war, and Harry and Ron never returned to Hogwarts to finish their final year (only Hermione did), and they both became Aurors, and they revolutionized the Ministry, as Harry, Ron, Kingsley, the Weasleys and their allies all pretty much erased all traits of corruption, and Harry became Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. Ron later retired to help George with their Joke Shop. If you consider Cursed Child canon (which many of us don't), Hermione later becomes Minister of Magic.
George married Angelina Johnson (the girl Fred asked to the Yule Ball in 4th movie) and their son's named after Fred. Harry and Dudley remained on civil terms, and exchanged Christmas cards every year. Whenever they were in the neighborhood, Harry and his family visited Dudley and his wife, and while their kids played happily with each other, Harry and Dudley remained in awkward silence.
Harry's aunt, Petunia, passed away in 2020, and in her will, (again, if you consider the Cursed Child canon), she left Harry the blanket that he was wrapped in and brought by Hagrid when he was a baby, a final sign of affection from his aunt.
Ron and Hermione's kids were sorted into Gryffindor, but in a surprising twist, Albus was sorted into Slytherin along with Scorpius, and they quickly became best friends, as Scorpius was nothing like his father at the age, thanks to Draco and Astoria's influence.

Man I live for Deathly Hollow 2’s reaction videos especially Snape’s memories. New to the channel and I can already see that your reaction was so worth watching and don’t feel bad about crying, this is what we love. Also glad that you liked Neville’s character development. A fun fact: Neville is also the chosen one which is exactly why Snape used to bully him cause both Harry and Neville were born at the end of July. It was up to Voldemort which kid would he mark as his equal, since Harry was a Half blood like Voldemort himself so he went after Harry first hence making him the chosen one while Bellatrix, Barty Crouch Jr went after Longbottom family. The Longbottoms had it worst cause they were tortured to insanity unlike Potters who died instantly. Neville had to grow up watching his parents alive yet unable to love and look at their own son. Every time he would visit them, his mother would just hand him over a toffee wrapper and Neville would even take that as a form of love and hide away his sorrows. Neville is a late bloomer but it’s all worth the final sequence that we get since he’s the one who killed the last owner. Remember, the Griffindor sword could only offer itself to a true Griffindor (brave) kid as Dumbledore was telling Harry that help will always be given at Hogwarts to those who deserves it (the same line he used in Chamber of Secrets). Also I’m really excited for your reaction on Lord of the Rings especially extended version. Another fun fact: the Harry Potter universe is kinda inspired by Lord of the ring universe since LOTR books were written in 1940s or something. Dude if you cried over Snape like then I can only give you one name for LOTR; Samwise Gamjee. This name would be engraved besides Gandalf in your heart that’ll make you shed happy tears.

The reason Dumbledore's brother is so bitter is not really mentioned in the movie. When Dumbledore was young his little sister Ariana was attacked by Muggles who saw her performing magic (this was before she was of Hogwarts age) and after that she repressed her magic, but holding it in would cause it to burst out at random when she was upset. Dumbledore's father attacked the muggles and was sent to Azkaban.
One day, Ariana's magic burst out from her in a horrible accident as her mother tried to calm her down, but ultimately, the mother was killed. Shortly thereafter, Dumbledore befriended Gellert Grindelwald (who went on to be the most notorious dark wizard apart from Voldemort) and made these grand plans to travel the world hunting Deathly Hallows and to make the world safer for wizards by bringing them out of hiding over the muggles for "the greater good". Basically, Dumbledore and Grindelwald planned to enslave the Muggles.
One day, Dumbledore's brother Aberforth confronted Albus and Grindelwald about it and how they couldn't travel when Ariana was so delicate, she never even attended Hogwarts and was largely hushed up. During the argument, Grindelwald got angry and attacked Aberforth with the Cruciatus Curse. After that, Dumbledore and his brother began to dual Grindelwald and all three spells linked together like a rope, and Ariana got in the way hoping to help, and she was hit and killed by a curse. None of them knew who was the one who cast the spell that killed her saying "it could've been any of us". Grindelwald fled and Aberforth blamed Albus for Ariana's death, even going so far as to break Albus's nose at Ariana's funeral.
In the books, it was stated MANY times that Dumbledore refused the post of Minister of Magic several times, because Dumbledore didn't trust himself not to fall under the pressure and developing a "love" for the power. His younger self, who believed Wizards were superior to Muggles and thirsted for power, was the reason behind his sister's death, thus Dumbledore felt safe at Hogwarts, the only place Dumbledore felt he could be happy. Remember the ring that Dumbledore had found, one of the Horcruxes? The Ressurection Stone was inside it. His desire to see his family overrode his common sense for just a moment and he placed the ring on his finger, forgetting that the ring had been cursed by Voldemort. The curse quickly spread, and were it not for his own prodigious talents, he would have died within moments. The curse was subdued by Snape (as shown in Snape's memories), but Snape couldn't actually stop the curse, and Dumbledore was gonna die within a year.
In the book, when Harry meets Dumbledore in limbo, Dumbledore again says that putting on the ring was yet another proof of Dumbledore not being able to trust himself in a position of power since his desire for power ultimately was the cause of his death. Being the Headmaster was the only position in which Dumbledore felt "safe" from being corrupted, since witnessning the progress of young wizards at the school, and wishing to help them with their goals, made Dumbledore feel like he could "redeem" himself.

I'm a few months too short to watch your journey with HP, but I've enjoyed it all the same. Thank you. It has been a pleasure watching you become a Potter fan like so many others. Go ahead and cry, it's not shameful to do so. It only proves that you are human.

I LOOOOVE your reactions! Pls don't be shy or ashamed of your tears! They are the best of reactions and the greatest asset of humanity. That shows empathy and heart. I loved all your reactions but can't stop thinking you cut out the best parts (you showing your feelings). Hopefully you won't do the same mistake in the future. Looking forward to seeing new stuff from you! Subscribed!

Thank you so much, Ulie! For not only watching but commenting AND subscribing! Triple Crown right there lol. & I’m definitely getting more comfortable sharing those scenes the more comments like yours I get💛 Although I had to cut out a little bit from my ‘Up’ reaction cause I was uncontrollably sobbing😭 like next level sobbing lol the first 10 minutes hit me HARD. Once again though thank you!!!💛
