    I first learned HTML / CSS (not programming languages I know), then moved to Javascript, once I felt comfortable with JS, I then played around in Python, mainly building networking scripts like port scanners or TCP client / servers. Then I decided to learn C++, and I can say after learning C++, I really wish I would have learned C++ first. JS and Python do a lot for you, like dynamic types. C++ is not easy to learn, and will take a long time, but well worth it b/c after learning C++, you can pick up any language you want with relative ease. If you like web development, JS is the way to go for sure, but anything else, C++ will teach you the most. If you're anything like me, and you like knowing HOW things work down to the core, C++ is your best bet. Anyways, just my 2 cents.

But it is still very good language to understand how programming works which will really help in learning other languages (or understanding Python even more).

      Venus Kong
      Yes, C++ would be a good language for game development, especially if you're doing something needing high performance. It's a language that compiles to native machine code which is unlike most of the scripting languages. People say it's too hard to learn but there is no compulsion to learn all of the features. It's vast but the basics are not too difficult. The downside is that C++ is just a language plus some support libraries. For games you're likely to need extra libraries for graphics, sound and IO etc.. though C++ is not alone in this. Same applies to Java (a language I dislike immensely). I started with assembler in the 1970s then C then C++ in the 1990s and still my favorite.
      Some of the scripting languages, Java and C# have also been successfully used for games and might be easier to learn but my knowledge in those is minimal. I believe Terraria was developed in C#

      absolutelly no. If you are interested in designing game and making actual stuff, you should pick something else. You can stick for long time with C++ just trying to create basics (and you probably will if you are begginer)

    My recommendations are java, JavaScript, python, or swift(java isn’t as important to learn first). I don’t recommend C, C+, or C++ to start out with since they’re lower level languages and can be difficult especially if you don’t know the basics

      Start with Assembler, then move on to Fortran, and finally COBOL. You will then be prepared to conquer the wonderful world of computer programming in a professional mainframe environment. Leave the toy computers and their programming languages behind and move up to where the elite computer scientists are working.

      I agree, they are Markup Languages.

    • @devonsteyn3925
      @devonsteyn3925 6 лет назад +48

      A Markup Language is a language that defines elements with tags, a good example of a Markup language is HTML and CSS. They both define with tags.
      e.g
      This is a paragraph tag from HTML
      p {
      /* This is referring to the tags in HTML, using CSS's tagging.
      }

    • @devonsteyn3925
      @devonsteyn3925 6 лет назад +61

      Well, you see, most programming languages like Java or C# are actual programming languages, because they do not define elements with tags, that's how you can tell them apart. And because in a Markup Language, you cannot declare variables like in real programming languages.
      e.g
      Java: int x = 0;
      C#: int x = 0;
      Those are Integer variables declared and initialized, in a Markup Language, you cannot do that. And also, a Markup Language cannot define and or create methods or functions like in OOP programming languages. I'm not the best at explaining, I might be wrong, but from experience, I know that these are all key differences. Thanks for reading :)

      Yes, you can use js along with unity.

    • @LemonChieff
      @LemonChieff 6 лет назад +1

      Yes you technically can. It's an interpreted programming language that's made to run in a web browser though.
      So if you want to make web apps and simple web games js is a good choice.
      If you're looking into making pc games C++ or C# are the best options imo.
      C for embedded devices or if you are an optimisation nut.
      C# is really nice to learn, it's rather easy, the syntax is great and the visual studio ide is honestly one of the best on windows pcs… On mac I use codeRunner for C, xcode for C++ and visual studio for C#… (IntelliJ IDEA for Java but Java is bad)

    How I started learning:
    1- Played around websites and discovered HTML, I didn't really learn it, I just changed the text of the webpage for fun!
    2- After about a month discovering HTML, I decided to actually learn it. I watched RUclips tutorials and did some of that coding on Notepad.
    3- Soon, I decided to learn more coding. I found Khan Academy which taught me to draw with JavaScript and interact with the mouse.
    4- After my JS course, Khan Academy started teaching me more HTML and soon CSS.
    I'm currently up to Stage 4, however I can actually create basic Web pages with HTML and CSS. Aiming to be a front end web developer in future. However since I'm only a kid, I still have a LONG way to go. But I give myself, and other child developers out there the best of luck.

    I started out learning Python, then moved on to C#. I think it was the perfect choise. Python is really easy to learn and understand, it will teach you the basics about programming. Then C# is a little bit more advanced, but it's also a bit more powerful (in some aplications). Personally I love either of them and could recommend them to everyone.
