Being a mom is hard but so rewarding! I think it depends on the situation and my number 1 advice is DO NOT have kids in an insecure relationship! I have 3 kids, my 2 oldest were in relationships that didn’t work out and my youngest is with my husband of 15 years. I’ve done it all, single mom, married mom, going through a divorce mom, dating mom, SAHM, FT working mom… I also have 4 stepsons so you can add stepmom to the list. I’ve really done it all!! I’m 41 this summer with all 6 of our blended kids graduated, in college or married and our son between us is 11. It was hard but I never really dwelled on it or felt sorry for myself. It was what it was. We did all the tricks to make things work and we tried as hard as we could to be fair to all the kids even if they didn’t see it that way. The best reward is now that they are grown they have so much respect and admiration for us and tell us all the time they have no clue how we did it and raised so many kids in our situation and they are so appreciative. That’s all you can ask for in the end. You have to be selfless to be a good parent and love your kids more than yourself while you are raising them or it will feel impossible. I truly do love my kids more than anything so I was happy to do for them and put myself on the back burner. It makes me happy to make them happy and when you feel that way being a mom is less “hard” and more rewarding! Don’t have kids if you aren’t ready to make the sacrifice or you will never truly enjoy it!
I agree with you 💯, kids are definitely very rewarding, and as I get older, I realize it was all worth it and I know a lot of young moms probably go through the same situations and feel lost and upset in the process and don't realize it will all be worth it in the end. Love your kids and be the mom you are meant to be, and it will be rewarding in the end. ❤ BTW I will be 41 this summer too!
