You haven't met my daughter, she definitely cares about socks 😂 a few years back I got her some socks when I went shopping and when I arrived home she asked if I got her anything. I was like "nothing exciting, just socks" Oh my goodness, the excitement on her face!! She must have been about 5.
However, that's a great idea with same colour pairs!

Wow, you're doing really well with decluttering your kids' wardrobes! We've been on this minimalism journey for almost 9 years with two little ones. For the most part, I've found, just like you, that around 5 sets (tops and bottoms) of clothes for each season is plenty. The only two times I needed more clothes for the kids was 1. when the washing machine stopped working and 2. when we go on holiday and there is no washing machine around. Packing with a capsule wardrobe is also so easy, saves time and money! It's a win-win. Can't wait to see more of your minimalism videos!

Your advice is very sensible and down-to-Earth 😊 My sock trick for babies is to not use socks in the summer season. I live in Norway and my daughter has been sockless since May. She gets better grip when crawling and trying to stand up, and I don't have to constantly put socks back on. 😂 For the winter season I'll see if I can get away with three pairs. I do laundry when our one laundry basket is nearly full, which is every 2-3 days, and we never run out of clothes.
I really agree with your thoughts on hand-me-downs, I decluttered most of my eldest's clothing when he was five and I did not see another baby on the horizon. It really hurt, but keeping the clothes would have hurt too. Ten years later, and I have a baby, but I know I would probably not have used many of the clothes anyway, due to them being born in different seasons of the year. 🧡

😮 we are a family of 3 and making a load of laundry daily or even every other day is impossible. With our clothes even a load a week would be almost empty. I change my clothes' son every day because he goes to daycare, then outside playing and get dirty, but I personally don't change my clothes everyday 😂 I can surely get rid of some of his clothes, but can't be so minimal (almost all hands down and Vinted purchase). And I envy you.

I’m READY to do this for my clothes and my kids clothes 100%! Right now I have an overload of clothes (were a family of 6) with more clothes comes more laundry 😢 and I’m just over it. Definitely need to reduce their clothes of each item. Thank you for this video ❤ the first kids capsule wardrobe video I watched 🎉

This had been in my watch list for a while, thankyou, you have given me a release to donate my first daughters clothes. I am going to do a serious cull. There are FOUR YEARS difference between my two girls and i have kept all my first daughters clothes thinking i will use them for my second. My second daughter is an entirely different build and you're so right about the seasons being off and about %60 of my second daughters wardrobe had to be bought anyway. I'm excited to go through them tomorrow its about 5-6 storage tubs now. Also that sock hack is brilliant for 3 kids who cant keep socks together to save their lives 😂😂

I am about to declutter our wardrobe, mine is already pretty minimal, but my youngest, who is 17 months Old has too much! And its good to see others with small children that doesn’t need much. I do need a little more than yours, cause we only wash once a week, since I dont have my own washer. We have a communal one in our apartment building.

I am a mum from the UK of a 20 month old, he wears the same FEW outfits this summer. He's in between sizes, but one more month and we can at least do without all the lower size tops, to create more breathing space. I will be glad when hes in 2-3 size, so its only 1 change of size in a year compared to 2-4 lol.

It definitely gets easier as they grow, so they don’t change sizes so quickly. Thank you for watching 🤗

With your girl, I do think it's going to be different and she will want different coulours and types of socks and everything else. I have two daughters and my oldest chose her clothes since 1.5 year old. She would even chose a piece for me here and there :D Still you can be minimalist and not buy everything but one special thing every season

My son recently asked for different coloured socks and we got them, aside from his usual school ones. My toddler still doesn’t care at the moment so she’s got all the same. It’s not about being rigid for sure, it’s about finding what works for you 🤗 Thank you!

I think this is an interesting way of looking at clothes, but how do you dress the kids (especially your son) for a special occasion? I can't imagine mine going to a festive event in their day-to-day clothing.
Also, my two kids are very active and get home with holes on pants or torn shoes or spotted/dirty shirts on a daily basis... atm I keep an outfit or two for each that is only meant to be worn on 'a day out', but I was wondering if you had some solution in mind?

I’m wondering this myself. My toddler is very active and can blow through three outfits at home from getting wet, playing in muddy puddles, painting, etc. Was wondering if I should have a capsule wardrobe of nice, out of the house clothes, and a handful of clothes meant to get dirty at home?

My daughters clothing was not very minimal until now at 8 months. She was given so so so many clothes from my mom and my sister that my niece outgrew and to be honest i picked around most of it and only used the same few outfits anyways. The only reason her closet is minimal now is because the sizes they gave me she is in are mostly for summer and it is winter here. I have maybe bought her 10 clothing items ever and that was before being gifted everything or i likely wouldnt have even done that lol. My own closet is super minimal though and im pregnant again so most of my clothes do not fit anyways i need to just get rid of those ones. From about high school until now i only kept 3-6 outfits in my closet at any given time and it makes getting ready for anything super fast and easy. My husband has probably 3 times the clothes that i have lol. But i do want to get rid of the bulk of the baby clothes in the smaller sizes because like you said about the wrong sizes in the wrong season and just going through the boxes to remember what you have all of that overwhelms me like i put that off and just ended up doing it for her the other day because there was almost nothing left in her dresser that fit her and didnt realize what she even had like she has enough clothes that fit but matching the pieces together is a totally different story like pink and purple patterned pants with brown and other colored patterned onesies that dont match most of the other pieces lol. Im afraid to take any more hand me downs from them because for all the space they take up in her tiny bedroom that will soon be shared then to not possibly have much to wear from it anyways is just overwhelming to me lol. My daughter was a preemie born in april and small for her age and my niece was born the august before and very very big for her age so i also have a long time to hold onto the clothes too for them to even fit her lol. Im just waiting to find out the gender of the next to decide what i want to keep so i can get back in the closet because it is just stuffed. I also hate trying to figure out what to do with the outgrown items as well its easier if its a small bag to take somewhere than several large bulky boxes.
