- What's going on guys, in this video I'm going to be removing a brake master cylinder all together with a brake booster from a 3G Galant, the same concept will apply for a 4 cylinder 3G eclipse. This "upgrade" has been proven for many years vs the 1g and 2g Brake Booster/Master setup to be more effective, especially when upgrading to a "big brake kit". I actually have this installed both on my GSX and AWD Spyder on stock 2 pot pistons and it does wonders. Not to mention, this cleans up the engine bay nicely and gets rid of the brake fluid reservoir (3G Master has it built in).
I noticed way less pedal travel in order for the brakes to "bite". I definitely recommend this to anyone on a budget that wants a better feel/response from your brake pedal.
For 1G non-abs cars, its pretty much a straight drop in.. other than tweaking/bending the brake lines. The same goes for 2G non-abs cars, but you will have to dent the drivers side strut tower in order for the brake master cylinder to clear (much beefier than stock).
Stay tuned as I will most then likely be dropping a video of ABS delete on a 2G DSM in the near future and installation of this same Brake Booster/Master. Thanks for watching!
Killin it ! Keep it up
Hi, at 1:41 do you know what that metal cable connected to the brake pedal with that white clip on the left is for? On my Mitsubishi the cable is not held in by anything and I am not sure if it’s affecting my braking
Do you need the brake booster or can you just use the master cylinder?
Does it matter if the 3rd gen eclipse is a 4cylinder or 6 cylinder?
Getting those 4 nuts off the brake booster on a 3000gt VR4 is damn near impossible! I am going to have to remove all the interior....AGAIN including the dash to get it out.
