Thank you for your explanation of how you use your ball head. I have a Manfrotto tripod that has a ball head that came with it installed already. It also has that "gully" that the shaft fits into. I admit - I'm guilty for using the gully until now when I hear you strongly suggest not to. Resting the shaft of the opposite side of the gully isn't something I practiced until I watched your video. By resting the shaft on the opposite side of the gully, I would only assume that I'd adjust the level of the camera and lens by adjusting the lens collar?
Very cool tip Sir! Just bought the sigma 150-600 and i own a manfreddo element tripod. When i tried to attach the tripod collar to the tripod it didn't fit. It's suppose to fit..maybe need to give it another go. Thanks again for the great tip!✌📷
Great tip !! Thank you.

This video saved me from returning a ball head tripod I bought. Never thought of simply resting it on the side. Thanks so much

If your camera is slightly sideways won't you have to crop all your images to get them straight again?
I have had to do a lot of cropping. thanks for watching.

Or... use a levelling base. They don't have a slot, and is limited by 15°
I will try that. thanks for watching.
