Kay cold water and very very hot water will kill yeast, it needs to be tepid water. That’s why your dough isn’t rising you have killed the yeast..yeast is a living organism...thanks for giving them a try I will make them sometime soon... also you don’t need to wrap in cling film they will be ok just popped into boiling water..hope I have been helpful..

I don’t know if Kay can ever bothered to read the recipes. Cling film for writing the dough rise then no cling film for boiling. To me that was pretty clear. To Kay it is clear as mud. I do still love her though.

it has nothing to do with the yeast at least not in this case, the water just wasnt even boiling the whole time she cooked them on camera, thats why it didnt rise up

I admire your effort but so many things gone wrong. 1) you didn't use nearly enough flour, (if you are using 350 ml of water, you should be using 500g of hard flour). Bagel dough has a low water content comparative to other breads, it should be quite stiff 2) you didn't knead it 3) you didn't let it rise long enough. 4) after you've shaped the bagels, you set them on a tray and cover the tray with a damp tea towel or clingfilm to keep the bagels from drying out, not each indiviual one 5) they need to rest for 15-25 minutes after shaping before boiling 6) you don't boil them in clingfilm. Now I can't tell if you're using soft or hard flour, but always use hard flour for bread making.
Is she afraid of handling dough? She just adds more flour but never works the bloody dough and then she's surprised when the floury dough falls apart. And can she read? Where's her common sense? And why does she inhale through her teeth all the time? So many questions.
Kay you need to use warm water for yeast not hot!!! You kill the yeast! Love your videos but I think it might help if you print out or take photos of the recipes rather than writing them down. I feel like you might make a few mistakes in the process. Keep up the good stuff, proud of you for giving it another go
