Something funny I noticed with this guy. When he asks you for information about the missing shardbearers and if you actually tell him stuff, he'll get their abilities. Boyo went scarlet rot on me using Malenias bloom thing and spewed fire blood everywhere
The rest of his flasks are for fp
It saddens me how empty the roundtable hold gets the more you progress.

I simply do not understand why people dump vigor, even on a mage build. Sure, if you're incredible at the game, you can beat it without getting hit. But consider, if you can beat the game without getting hit, it doesn't really matter where you put your stats. For the rest of us plebs, the game is "kill the other guy before they can kill you," and there's two sides to that equation.

@@xxx_jim_the_reaper_xxx I mean, if you know it's from Fate, I would've expected for you to know, but if you really are curious, it's an Entire world covered with swords, but to simplify why it's referenced here, the user can shoot the swords like projectiles.
The fact that his move set can change depending on who you’ve defeated beforehand is amazing.
I didn't know what you were talking about, but then I realized he didn't use the Skull attack for Lord of Blasphemy or Mogh's attacks. Thats neat.
Me who've beaten almost every enemy 🥲
Prolly because you tell him the details when asking about them.
So this guy's the Taskmaster
well no wonder he spam the scarlet flower magic on me multiple times, cus i just killed Melania before fighting him.
Fun fact: Gideon's spells and difficulty depends on how much you info you give to him as you defeat demigods throughout the game. The Gideon I fought was very different and was much harder, as he used the spells and powers of all the demigods.
That's odd, because I also gave Gideon the intel on the demigods and I found him to be surprisingly easy, he also never threw out any demigod moves against me, maybe I just killed him to fast
@@michaelpara8582 Maybe. I died to him a few time before I killed him. He first one shotted me with Malenia's Scarlet Rot flower spell. Then he kept getting me with Mogh's bloodflame and Rykard's skull magic.
@@armorheadallan Ive killed all the bosses and although he did use a few of those spells I was hyper aggressive with my jumping attacks; also ezky whatever breathed him at the beginning so he practically was scarlet rot to death whilst i toyed with his AI using lightning spells lol.

He literally watches us run around killing every demigod in the span of a week and then clarifies that actually a man cannot kill a god. All knowing my ass
To be fair, Demigods aren’t really gods. They’re just half gods making them weaker than full gods.
@@theberserkerarmor6511 To add to your point, we did not kill any demigods. Godrick is not dead. Rennala is still there. Morgotte is not dead. The snake lord is not dead. Every demigod stays alive after our bossfights. We just took the Great Rune from them so they pose no threat anymore.
@@JohnDoe-qu2dr how are they not dead lol
@@JohnDoe-qu2dr Pretty sure Morgott and Godrick are dead. You can see Morgott struggling to breathe after you beat him, and then he stops breathing after you talk to him. And the NPC that tells you about the safe passage into Godrick´s castle rejoices after you kill Godrick. Rennala was never a demigod to begin with, and even the whole Radhan festival is a way to give him a honorable death
@@JohnDoe-qu2dr How are they not dead? Malenia, Godrick, Morgott, Mogh and Radhan are dead, and Renalla is not a even a demigod and we never actually fought her, only a conjuration of her prime created by Ranni.
Him and Renalla really captured what its like to face a full mage.
This fight is highly underrated, you’re basically fighting your teacher for the game, the dude who’s been helping you out since the beginning, so when you finally kill him and return to roundtable hold to see how dead it is with everyone either against you, dead or dying, it really makes you feel alone
He was only helping you so he could land that backstab. Hard to trust any tarnished when most are on the path to become Elden Lord.

Well they were all demigods
@@cauthrim4298 the Fire giant is basically a good tho
Marika is a true god according to the Golden Order. Her children are demigods and can be killed with a fraction of a rune of death like what happened in the Night of Black Knives. Gideon assumed Marika was immortal and couldn't be killed but probably didn't know that the Tarnished had the rune of death from Maliketh.
Technically there’s like 6 gods, neither of whom you even meet in game.
Greater Will
Frenzied Flame
Formless Mother
Scarlet Rot
Dark Moon
And a god whom Placidusax worshipped.
We only meet them by their proxies. If Gideon was all-knowing, he probably realized these were the “true gods” of the Lands Between.
Marika was basically just a representative for the Greater Will. She was no true god acting of her own accord.
Idk about his “you cannot become a lord” quote though, maybe it’s referencing that you can be lord, but as fleetingly as Godfrey was. Doomed to be a puppet, and never a sovereign lord.
Edit: As well, throughout the journey, your purpose hadn’t been to kill Marika, considering the standard ending. If she were considered as THE god, it wouldn’t make sense why Gideon would insinuate we would kill her.

Its incredible how many bosses this game has. And they're more difficult than expected sometimes. A shame with the performance issues it has, but nonetheless a good game
Most Open World games have that same issue so it's not that big of a deal
I've seen a couple vids and all I can say is that these bosses are definitely made for ranged attacks and not balanced for CQC builds
they will definitely patch it
@@darkhorseman90 no, every FromSoft boss ever can be beat with cqc builds. It’s not meant to be easy.
@@jayroman3384 oh no doubt it can, some intrepid/persistent players will find a way, personally I'm doing a hybrid build, but you have to admit, even the bosses of DS1 were better balanced between taking them on with either magic or physical weapons or both compared to ER's bosses who have been more or less condensed into either being grossly huge to have to be up close and personal with, or speedy and unrelenting where distance is key.
Finally someone found him! I was starting to feel sad that no one had found yet the intro cutscene bosses.

@@primecoconut4204 I watched my friend beat the game and it still confuses the shit out of me, I assumed that the Elden Ring was making the gods immortal, but when it broke they were able to die, but I have been looking up lore stuff and people are saying that normal people cant die as well, or only those who were blessed with Grace were immortal like the Gods. Im super confused, like did the Elden Ring make everyone on the planet immortal, or just those who lived in the Lands Between? I see someone mentioned that Gideon used his flask 7 times in a NG+ fight. Dunno what causes his fight to become harder (maybe killing more of the other bosses to give him more spells also increases his flask usage).
Imagine trash-talking the guy that destroyed General Radahn, Melania Blade of Miquella, Mogh, Rykard, Morgott, Dragons, Bosses, Knights, etc.. I'd be like you sir are the Elden Lord lol
I really hate the fact that this is the direction Gideon’s character went. I really enjoyed and appreciated the dynamic of being rivals who respected and aided each other with knowledge on the quest to become Elden Lord, kind of having this unspoken vow to be each other’s last obstacle to the throne. I loved his ambition and dedication to the craft, to his studying and quest to be the all knowing seemingly in alignment with a similar goal to your own. Only for him to reveal himself as a pawn who really had no ambition to do anything except uphold things how they were. He never actually wanted to be Elden lord. It just throws his whole character in the dumpster tbh. And it also is very inconsistent with his actions considering how willing he was to divulge key information to help you on your quest. Just seems like such a missed opportunity to have a proper earned emotional fight against a respected rival
Also, his fight is just bad. He just spams magic over and over.
I don’t think you paid attention to his item description, in the beginning he WAS just like you and wanted to be Elden Lord. Somewhere along the end of the game though, he (as his name implies) begins to know Marika’s true intentions and agrees with them or at least feels she’s more correct then his desire to be Elden Lord. His actions are inconsistent unless you read the item descriptions. I also never thought you were supposed to make it some personal vow between you two, EVERY tarnished is vying for the throne, it’s a free for all. You do it by running around like a maniac, other tarnished do it in there own way, and Gideon slaughters towns and performs spying.
"A man cannot kill God"
Also every Soulborne character:"Are you sure about that"
Tell me, Sir Gideon Ofnir, the All-Knowing. Did you know how this fight would end?
The audacity of this man to think he can stand against you after slaying how many giants, monsters, beasts, and literal gods prior to this point.
AND YOU TOLD HIM ABOUT THEM ALL.
I mean, to be fair, Sir Gideon is one of very few Tarnished who seemed to have killed a Demigod at some point or another, like Vyke. He also teaches you a fair amount of spells if you give him those infos.
Ironically, if you have a decent Talisman, decent armor, and use Divine Lord's Fortification (which he taught you), Elden Beast can't do nothin'.
the music and dialogue hits so hard at the same time.
0:21 Gideon: *still talking*
Shirrako: "shut the hell up! you talk too much"
1:02 Huh, so turns out Vergil' Mirage Blades was lifted from this guy, like thousand years later. Now I can die in peace.
For story, this fight gets even more epic if you summon Latenna to claim some vengeance for what Gideon did to the Albinauric village. By the end, my Tarnished was harrying him from all sides in Melee, and he had so many of Latenna's arrows sticking out of him. Epic finale for both their stories.

Low Battery is the scariest souls boss.
There are no words that can describe how much I love the animation where he tries to drink from the flask and then realizes it's empty. They didn't have to add that animation, but they did, and it made this fight a lot funnier.
Also: there was a video where Malenia was fighting every boss, and after he tried to drink and realized the flask was empty, he immediately got grabbed, thrown in the air, and impaled. I don't know why I laughed (and continue to laugh) so hard but it just has perfect comedic timing.
