I take pride in not needing a safety catch, the safety is my finger never being near the trigger unless its down range. I like the look and price of this pistol.
I have had one of these guns for a number of years. It is a fine, affordable, match air pistol. If you are good enough, this gun will take you to the Olympics. I also have a Feinwerkbau CO2 match pistol which was my match gun for many years and cost more than three times what I spent on the IZH. My third match air pistol is a Hammerli PCP...my main competition gun at this point. I have the IZH as a back up, not a main gun. Why? Because, as good a gun as it is, it has one serious drawback......it has to be cocked for every shot. 10 meter air pistol match shooting is very precise....it is a “game of tens” .....if you are not shooting a lot of 10s, you are not in the running. In a 60 shot match, cocking the gun 60 times has a detrimental effect on the shooter. If everyone else was doing the same, then no problem. They are not. They are shooting PCP guns. For a beginner who wants to get a feel for the world of super accurate air pistols....the IZH is a best buy. It will lead to other guns.
I see the frame rate issue. It's a little choppy. This is the first occurance on any of my thousands of U-Tube viewing's. Actuall this video is more than just a bit choppy, it's actuallt pretty choppy at times. P.S. I havre the Baikal 46M and MP-532 competion air guns. Both are great value and very accurate. I'm using them ti train for serious competion. I'm 61 years old now, but I took First Place in 1993 Small Bore New York State Competion for unranked shooters.

A few things that will help. Your lighting is very poor in the videos, a little more light will help greatly. Your targets are incorrect for air-pistol shooting. The standard Air Pistol targets are made of thicker paper (don't tear) and also have a different marking. You should stick some thick paper behind the target to stop the paper tearing.
Do you see how my original post was replicated and posted a second time? This is another indication of the problems this particular video is having. I am now thinking the slow frame rates that cause a stutering in the video is on account of that the video is somehow doing everything twice. Hence my repeated post above.

That pistol has sparked some interest in me. It looks really nice and it really isn't that expensive.
Very good review by the way
08:16 It does actually. But only as long as you keep the shutter open.

Saving the 'hard earned' to buy this beautiful pistol.
Great review. Where is the rest of the video though. Stops at 9:22.
a 10m pistol never has a safety, the shooter is the safety.

@alehax27 I have their $55 spring version, IZH-53M...that one is extremely accurate, this one I'm sure is even better.
Can anyone tell me how and where to lubricate an IZH 46M pistol?
What is the decibel reading for this gun?

Mine has a trigger pull adjustment screw. I could not see if your did or not.
Do you know anyone who repairs the Baikal IZH-46M (MP-46M) .177 Cal Pellet Pistol?
What's the decibel rating, Paul?
nice review, what distance did you shoot it?
im just now getting into guns how many times can to gun fire at once
Once.
Using a $40 red dot sight to do the accuracy testing of a $600 match pistol? (facepalm)
Overpriced !!! Better off with a Air Venturi V10.
no the Gamo is a horrible choice with a really wonky trigger
