*Y O U F O O L S*
I have the same problem. Get orthopedic insoles bro, they made me want to walk again
Me now with insoles not being able to run because the soles are stiff and thus my foot aint flexible
@@wess3426 there are 2 types of insoles, bro. Orthopedic insole for sportsmen is flexible (but a little bit thicker)
The problem isn't the zero drop nature of converse, it's the the lack of splay in the toe box of the shoe. Feet fan out from the heel to the toes, and converse (like most shoes) are shaped in such a way that they constrict the transverse arch from functioning the way it's meant to. The sole is also quite thick, making the connection to the ground feel alien to the muscles and nerves on the bottom of your feet. As an analogy, just imagine wearing thick non-stretch mittens most of the time, your entire life, and they're shaped not like how a hand splays and grasps things. Your hands would atrophy because many muscles are being constricted.
@@TheTrogolizer what're you talking about; converse having thick soles?? Nah bud. You clearly know a lot about feet. But not about chucks...

The fact that when I was a kid, every kid, myself included, would take our shoes off to go into hyperdrive and run as fast as possible is all I need to know lol Kids are great with intuition. If we felt faster barefoot, we probably were
Absolutely! We would have races wearing our runners, and then when things got heated, we would see who was really the fastest, and take off our shoes and race in bare feet. (Canada in the 90s)
And then they fucking shoved u into this shit for the rest of your days destroying your athleticism and giving u chronic problems u til your decaying in a chair because your feet won’t let you stand up anymore
The only reason we wear shoes in races is because our feet will be more damaged without shoes, even if you grow calus
@Big Small yeah but you can't do that anymore because of the things that can be in there. Like glass, nails, bugs like ticks and alot more
Running barefoot might be better, though I guess removing the added weight from the shoes helps a lot with running.

I hear you, only problem is there's a decent amount of barefoot shoes companies all overcharging for shoes and non want to make basketball shoes it's unfortunate
What would a barefoot "basketball" shoe look like? It's just a barefoot shoe...
@@cuzzo333 since basketball is a lot more demanding than regular running, ideally you would still need some support features. But really just a regular basketball shoe that zero drop and foot shaped would be revolutionary.
The shoe brand of Xero shoes made a low top court shoe for sports like tennis basketball called the 360 that has a non marking sole.
If that is not what you want use shoes like the Nike Basketball (original basketball shoe still made with SB line), the Adidas Superstar high top/ II as the low top or Converse All Star high getting the leather/synthetic leather versions if you find chaffing with the canvas upper on standard Converse.
Nike free shoes are fairly flat and flexible with good cushion.
Vibram got sued to hell for claiming they do anything, they have 0 benefits the study group only saw that barefoot wearers got more bone swelling, not good
The toe-spring is literally designed for running/jogging as it helps give you the push-off force your toes need to speed up. If you are lifting weights, of course you would need a more stable, flat shoe. And don't give people the false narrative like "newer shoes" from Nike or Adidas are bad for you, their just different categories of footwear. Nike/Adidas still offer new flatshoes may it be for weight lifting, skate boarding and other sports/activities that requires a flat shoe.
Tbh, they're not great even then, the narrow footbed and compression it gives to your feet can be harmful to your posture
It might give you good performance. But plantar fasciitis would like to say hello.

Years of using typical commercial shoes has habituated many to stiff positions. The natural barefoot is the best for our bodies because it allows natural movement of the whole foot, toes included. Learning to walk barefoot, similar to how many indigenous people go about, now require the modern person to habituate to new patterns. @@jaredtay1970 You have knee pain because you've spent your whole life in shoes that throw off your gait and walking mechanics. You're body is designed to walk on bare feet, not cushioned soles. I feel that the Nike Free Run 2018 is a good step in the right direction for a cushioned more natural flat running shoe
This comments section knows nothing about batefoot/minimalist shoes. Converse might be flatter than Skechers, but it's not exactly what he means. Also, if flat shoes hurt to run in, you're running wrong. A big problem though is many of us having been wearing overly cushioned shoes bad for our feet for so long that our feet are too weak to do their job, so the muscles and tendons in your feet will feel like they're on fire if you ran in minimalist shoes or actually just barefoot. But once you get some decent foot strength, running will feel way better on your body because your muscles and joints are absorbing the impact properly. Running shouldn't destroy your knees. If it does, that means your knees are taking an impact your calves, foot arch, and Achilles heel are supposed to.

Seeing this reminds me of when I was doing physiotherapy a while back. There were quite a few balance exercises, and I got used to spreading my toes along the mat to sort of grip the ground. Idk where I'm going with this but I felt like sharing.
As a Physiotherapist that is about to graduate indeed good posture is much beneficial for spine and back health. If you are lifting something or anything heavy or not(unless it's super light like idk a piece of cardboard or something that doesn't take much force to pick up) doesn't have to be gym dumbells you should have proper posture if you don't and you do it repeatedly in bad posture then you are hurting Thorax(T1-6) which is middle of spine and Cervical( C 1-6) or lower back and then causing inproper movements leading to severe pain in spine and cause of Kyphosis and many other problems. When lifting flat shoes, when running can be other shoes with Arch.

Having a hard sole and having a barefoot sole are different. Im sure you walk around your house barefoot, right? Does your ankle hurt?
@@Melaninking33 I have this thing called accessory navicular, like a bit of an extra bone, where it's flat for most folks. It's genetic, and wasn't a problem before, but a couple of years ago I twisted my ankle just slightly, and since then it hurts consistently. I get up in the morning and it hurts.
The funny thing is, that a couple of months ago, when I was riding a scooter (the sort you have to push with your own leg) for a couple of hours, and over very rough terrain, the pain was suddenly gone. Just like that. And it didn't return for a whole week, when I used the same scooter again.
So maybe just a nerve damage? I really don't know.

Air max 97 are comfortable asg
@@brandonhuffman213 hell no. I got some and while they are among my favorite-looking shoes, they are painful after a few hours of continuous wear
@@hunterwashington8893 damn that sucks. For me 97 is a comfortable shoe, I usually don't wear them for more than like a hour or so. Just to run errands ya kno.
Individuals possess varying types of feet, which consequently influences the types of shoes suitable for them. For example, those with flat feet may find it challenging to wear shoes with an arch, and vice versa.
Brilliant!
This isn’t necessary true, my foot actually feels flatter ever since I walk more. The picture above looks extremely unbalanced, and has weird walking pattern. Heels higher helps you walk faster, and I disagree with your analysis.
You disagree with a factual analysis? Alright then.
@@boyanpetrov1683 First of all, I disagree with the picture in the video above. Shoes with thick soles doesn't change the shape your feet, it's how You Walk. Nike shoes aren't designed to change the shape of your foot. Extremely misguiding, that's why I said it's false medical information because I don't agree with the picture.
@@violentnexus3563 That's what i was trying to say
@H b.34 I don't think sneakers with raised heels affect the shape of your feet, helps you walk faster in my opinion
@H b.34 Nike and Adidas designers would be happy if you taught them.
i searched for the perfect shoe for years, and i’ve been wearing nothing but vivobarefoot (the bottom shoe in the video) for almost a decade. best shoes ever
There's nothing wrong with the top shoe though
Except for the fact that it's too small for the foot
Top is running shoes ,down is stand (walk)sneaker.
Read accurate infor when you buy it.
I use running shoes for trail and crocs shoes for walk, it very comfortable.
I think this is why many NBA players get injured. The shoes today are designed to baby your foot and not to strengthen it. Look at Bird, Magic, MJ and the guys that played in Chucks you don't see them with weird foot injuries.
I need a good walking shoe but I wouldn’t rely on a RUclips video for a recommendation.
No offense, but why not? There are many reputable people that give good information on health on RUclips. Of course it’s your choice, but I usually watch a bunch of videos to research something before I make a big purchase.
I take everything with a grain of salt. And although I’ll listen to the opinions of people sponsored by the product they don’t carry the same weight as unsponsored reviews. I just spent weeks choosing a new roller skate based on RUclips recommendations, and I ended up going with the perfect skate. It isn’t the most popular skate recommended all over tiktok and RUclips, but it’s the best one for me.
For example some people don’t like the skate I got because it “looks too bulky on them” but I really wanted tons of ankle support and padding. So I chose this more comfortable and higher build quality skate.
There’s tons of reputable channels with good info out there.

I took walking shoe advice from a foot doctor and now I wear shoes with proper support for my feet.
Crowdsourcing amounts to guesswork x 1000.
@@PrivateEyeYiYi oh that’s absolutely the best way to go, although not everyone has those resources easily available or even needs them. Sometimes it takes a long time for an appointment or people need good work shoes but don’t have great insurance. So I try to be mindful of others’ situations.
I don’t know if my doctor would really be the best person to help me find skates, but I did ask around other people in my career when looking for work shoes. And when I was choosing soccer cleats I chose based on detailed reviews to find the best cleat for both my play style and the type of grass I play in.
I’m glad your doctor was able to help you find a good walking shoe, but I wouldn’t discredit everyone else giving out information. Ultimately fit is important and the only way to really know is to try things on, but even if your doctor recommends something that doesn’t mean it’ll be perfect- you’ll have try to know.
I think the best example I know is with motorcycle gear- helmets to be specific. Really the most important thing is that it fits you properly, but learning about different materials, the way they have different shapes and how to measure, how to find the safest helmet for your activity etc. is all stuff I’ve learned from scientific testing on RUclips. And it’s better to get information from someone that’s doing objective scientific method testing instead of the company just trying to sell you gear.
My take anyway. Wasn’t an attack on you, I just wanted to understand why you felt the way you did.
@@aval5098
I wouldn’t take internet advice even from my foot doctor. What you get on the net is not personalized to anyone’s particular needs. If I tried to sort out all that and come up with my own recommendation I think I’d be like a man who tries to act as his own attorney. And not even lawyers do that.
Bu don’t listen to me. Do whatever works for you.
@@aval5098 Because everyone can say everything they want.
We're talking about science, so, if they want to say something, they need to give scientific sources.
These videos always make me think i'm the only one who keeps a gap for my big toe so my feet don't feel compressed when selecting shoes. I've always done that since I was young.
I wear the opposite shoes, shoes that lift my heel but keep my toes flat.
you and most people in modern society.
U have converted me to barefoot shoes. Ive been wearing barefoot for around 5 months and it has helped tremendously.
youve been wearing barefoot or not wearing shoes?
I just wore super flat shoes to work and my feet are literally killing me. This is nonsense. I'll never wear a flat shoe again.
Your feet are obviously weak as a result of wearing cushioned shoes for most of your life 🤦🏿♂️ think before you comment
It takes 3 months to adjust and then it feels better than before
@Jesus Christ Surprising, since should be used to walking barefoot
not a doctor, but maybe you ruined your feet by wearing arch support? or shoes with giant, goofy heels like most 'running' shoes trending these days?
Bro the first time i wore flat shoes it felt like floating.
Yep I can hold my toes like that in a shoe to make my product sound more believable
Put the shoe u like on and keep it pushin😂
true this onlile doctor only spread fear on every thing
Advice for all. Buy both shoe. Top one for long time walking if you need. And bottom one for regular every day walking . In long time walking your feet will never tired. With regular , your feet will never forget all muscules what they have )
No wonder I’m always tripping in the hallways at school while walking up stairs 😂
I have flat foot and 4 extra bones, 2 in each foot. 1 Os Trigonum and 1 Navicular. My Skechers Gogamat work like a dream for 5 minutes before the pain kicks in.
While you should wear zero drop and wider shoes when lounging, other brands can't compete with brands like Nike, Adidas, etc. when it comes to performance.
Just switched to barefoot shoes a few weeks ago. It takes a while to get used to them
You can also just wear cross fit shoes. Reebok Nanos are essentially flat shoes.
Companies that sell barefoot shoes are always making stuff up to sell their shoes. I like barefoot shoes from time to time, but like, don't need to be lied to to buy them.
Apparently not me, I can’t wear flat foot shoes for more than a day at a time because it hurts my feet so badly
High arches?
@@joeym3592 very much so :'(
Insoles are for you my friend
@@raygun1524 as the other comment suggested, you have insoles right? Even in normal supportive shoes they do wonders
@@joeym3592 No but it would probably do me good to get some. I kinda always just put off my feet hurting as me being lazy and not wanting to walk around much.
I have worn nothing but barefoot shoes for 6 years. They changed my life. In my mid 20’s I thought I would need back surgery as I got older. Flat-soled shoes have completely eliminated my back pain. I am a very satisfied member of this cult and I’ll never go back.
I've never thought about, thanks bro
I tried the zero drop shoes for upwards of a year, and it was going great until it didn’t. I developed knee pain in my left knee. I'm not entirely sure if the knee pain was the result of the shoe, but I never had knee issues before the switch.
Its a technique thing. If you walk as if you had thick, cushioning soles, itll cause joint problems since the shock just travels up through ankles, knees, hips... You want to strike the ground with the balls of your feet whenever you walk moderately fast.
pretty sure you gotta slowly transition into them. wear it like one day a week and gradually inc until your feet adjust and you can wear them completely. got it from another video
the top one is a running shoe ... its meant for running
You can also run in the shoes below. They won't "protect" you as much so the pace is a lot slower because you have to protect yourself with technique rather than padding.
