This ad features Robert Downey Jr. and his then girlfriend, Sara Jessica Parker in a Public Service spot for the Rock the Vote campaign. Larry, along with several other directors from the Music Video Production Association, did this pro-bono work along with various celebrities who agreed to promote this initiative which continues today. Larry's particular spot focused on artistic censorship, and when Robert Downey Jr. arrived on set, he saw Larry's dramatic, artsy lighting, and asked him, "Are you going to make my girlfriend look weird?" Larry also did a spot with Terri Garr for the same campaign.TV Commercial for Rock the Vote

This vid was inserted right before the and credits of the pirated copy of "Iron Man 3" a friend loaned me. It was seriously weird.

Yes! you are totally right. It is soooo typical Downey. I love the way he does, and I also adore when he makes his left eyebrow up. I think SJP also often oneside up.

I think this may be from 1988 not 1992. They broke up in 1991.
Idk about that.. i was watching “Rewind the ‘90s” on Disney Plus, and they featured a clip of this ad, which is why I looked this up. You might have your dates mixed up. If they broke up in 91 then this ad would have had to been recorded in 90 or 91. I’m kind of surprised they added it if it was just the beginning of the 90s considering they talked a lot about this whole ‘Rock the Vote’ deal which was supposedly a big deal that decade but maybe i’m misinterpreting.

A slap on the wrist. But he gets a pass for "turning his life around." So much so, former California Governor Jerry Brown pardoned him for playing Iron Man. 🤡If it happened to any normal person on the other hand, you would be ragged to your grave.
