Would you mind suggesting some must visit places for a 10 days trip to Sri lanka. Keep the good work going! CHEERS;)
Heads up to those heading to Sri Lanka. It's amazing, just returned - but if you can please steer clear of places that exploit animals. Particularly Gangaramayana Temple in Colombo that has an elephant stolen from his mother kept under a carport chained up. We saw the elephant ourselves and were deeply distressed to see it and dogs being chained by the legs. So many wonderful ethical places to visit in Sri Lanka and tourist dollars talk - so travel ethically if you can x
Wear dresses that cover your arms and legs. Use mosquito repellent oils or sprays which are available in most Srilankan supermarkets and pharmacies. Use mosquito nets when sleeping (you can request from your host to provide bed nets) or keep a mosquito repellent coil pack with you just in case. But as long as you are using long clothing and insect repellents you will be good to go! Good Luck

HerrRaskolnikov si, son veneto, o quasi, Friulano di Pordenone. Great place, avoid paying the stilt fishermen. Kandy did not impress us much, i do not recommend to spend too much time there but, to be fair, it rained a lot when we were there. Pollonaruwa as a city is also non existant, the ruins are great but there is litteraly nothing to do in the modern city. Don't pay people to take pictures. In Ella you don't need a guide to reach the Ella rock if you read carefully the forum with instructions on how to get there. The trains are not to be missed. Use them as much as you can. Watch out when buying tea from the tea plantations. Much more expensive than the supermarket. Food go for street food all the time. Only Ella has some nicer restaurant that are not too overpriced

We went at end Feb, which was supposed to be the good season (i.e. less rain). It actually rained every single day. October is the hot+wet season (low season)
I have to disagree with stilt fishing. There is really only 1 place that you can have the real experience rather than the one you've just aired on this video...
