The real reason he survived was the stoner was secretly JACKED underneath. They had to hide it but the actor was in incredible shape. Not saying that played a part, just interesting trivia I heard.
I also saw a behind the scenes that mentioned it was cut from the final film but the stoner also had a backup supply of weed that the company didn’t know about and therefore hadn’t laced prior to their arrival.
I wish he was in more stuff. He seemed to have a rapidly growing career for a brief time, then I haven't seen him in anything for years.

You made a joke about the organization being if the SCP foundation had to contain all aspect of fear from our nightmares, but the events of the movie is exactly what the SCP foundation would do in that scenario. Those gods would have a designation file detailing exactly how to pull off the sacrifice.
I remember using my entire toy collection and plastic soldiers to recreate the monster break out when I was younger. Good times

This is the movie that got me through grad school. I watched/listened to it all the time while working on my research, especially while coding and performing data analysis. It's still a favorite movie to relax to.

There is a chance of survival, if you get lucky enough to get the role of the “virgin” then there’s a small chance you can live. They said in the movie that the virgin can live, so if you are a the final girl and you choose to let everyone else die then you can get out and the gods won’t rise.
@Mushess then you would be left alone in a blood covered, monster ridden world until the day you die. Just because you survive, it doesn't just make the multitude of terrible monsters who will gladly torture you as you live disappear. Hauntings, possessions, r*pes, mutilation, etc. Fuckin miserable ending to your life either way

I absolutely love the parodies of everything involved in this movie. Even the gods themselves are a parody of viewers and consumers alike.
It's like the people who watch and review these movies or even create these films are metaphorical deities, deciding if a horror franchise should continue to exist or be irradicated if they didn't like the movie they saw and it didn't play out exactly like it should have, with boring tropes and cliches etc.

I would argue that both scenarios B and C wouldn't be the end game. The ancient gods clearly want to be entertained and wiping out humanity would be the end of that. Punishment, sure. But not extinction. And if they want as complex and entertaining sacrifices as what they were getting, they would even have to temper that punishment down to enough where humans can bounce back and are ready to go by next year,

What I was always curious about us Why didn't they go Public with the Organization? It wouldn't be that hard to come up with a good enough excuse to have a reason to do this. The "Volunteer's" aspect of it wouldn't have to be known to the Public, kinda like Nuclear Weapon Codes....

@@notyourdad9548 I dought it. Remember that, going by the Movies logic, they used to do these in public all the times. I personally think it just got to the point that Humanity didn't want to feel guilt about having to do this to their Young. If the Organization gets the local governments backing, the could use the whole idea of "School Shooters" or the Whole Drug problem as a fairly decent Smokescreen to pick these kids in case any of them actually make it out if the Scenario.
Think about that as public knowledge. There are countless individuals who would link up to try to cause the end of the world and prevent the sacrifice

Not necessarily. Not a lot of people realize how the L4D infection works; all of the survivors in the game aren't immune, they are carriers. The zombie virus is airborne. If you're not immune, you'll turn from just being around them for a little bit. This was made canon by Valve supporting all the hints in L4D2.
It also perfectly explains why everyone changes that rescues you except Virgil, who's wife changed being around him. It's really my favorite zombie apocalypse explanation.

I don't exactly agree with outcome B.
Every entity has to be fairly easy to kill or The Organization wouldn't have to employ all the mind-control/influencing measures they do in order to get the outcome they desire. Furthermore, if the virgin can survive then any entity must be easy enough to defeat that a lone, and possibly injured, female could do it. That being said, with all their tech and knowledge, I have to believe that The Organization would have a contingency to prevent the release of more than one entity or have the know how to quickly dispatch the entities should a mass containment breach occur.

B Scenario wouldn't likely happen like the movie itself since the button is self evidently purposely placed there, And likely, They're given by the ancient ones more powerful artillery to deal with every monster to be released by that button, or even single shot bullets that can incapacitate them, Since there have been many rituals i doubt giant monsters or eldritch beings are that easy to contain again, So i assume, The button are there for purpose and they've have a countermeasures for it

My head canon is these forms are how humans perceive the entities through dreams as they have never seen the beings in person. If you heard someone on the phone without meeting them, you wouldn’t know what they look like but you will have an idea of how they look. I always figured the “end of the world” scenario that happens was just that a scenario. The whole time “the foundation” keeps talking about raising the stakes to keep the ancient ones appeased and what better way to keep them appeased than to have the ancient ones be a part of the scenario? “You’ve seen the horror now BE the horror.”

11:41 One possible reason option three happened is that the Ancient Ones WANTED it to. In this scenario, they were bored of it and allowed it all to fail in order to purposely end humanity. A fact supporting this theory is that Patience ignored Dana and Marty and went after the Director.

They are still around, but they can die by firearms.
I understand that no one would survive this apocalypse, but you are assuming that nukes couldn’t hurt them, and they could produce the beings of other verse like doom, that is a beyond dimensional space-time, and the lovecraft universe that is also beyond space-time.
The most they have done is destroy a small building, making them small building level, less that a 1 of tnt in attack potency.
They broke through the crust of the earth as well.

Fair enough, but intangibility doesn’t mean your invincible to all forms of attack, such as a cloud still being blowed away by a nuke.
@@plasman5769 Ghosts and wraiths are usually intangible in the sense that they are not made of physical substance and thus occupy no physical space, so unlike a cloud or matter in a more gaseous form, you wouldn't be able to disperse them with such methods since essentially there is nothing there to disperse.
The humans would need some nukes imbued with hakai to pull this one off.

idk about this one. The whole reason the gods were released is because their monsters were beaten all over the world. Even the little Japanese girls turned the ghost into a frog. Missiles seem to have taken out that gorilla thing, an explosion defeated whatever was in Madrid, all these conventional and supernatural methods looks to have worked. I'm sure I specifically would die but the movie shows nothing to suggest humanity can't overcome each horror or fucc it maybe nuking the gods works. If their monsters can be beaten...
Would be a loose/loose situation. The gods themself would be the smaller problem. You have a whole dimension of monsters loose that range from having a body, to not having a body, to using your and your friends body and so on. Sure, some of them may be fought but there are no natural enemies under that onslaught of monsters, only one goal. The planet will be turned into a slaughter house.
thats assuming every monster can be beaten. werewolves and zombies sure, but unless you have a kandarian dagger laying around there is nothing humanity can do to stop an Evil Dead invasion for example, on TOP of the gods
@luigiwiiUU You're so right. But you also wouldn't expect a bunch of elementary school girls to come up with an incantation to turn an evil ghost into a frog. For the ones that are too hard to out right kill... well they ended up in those boxes some how... and they couldn't get out until the button was pushed. And they get recontained after a successful sacrifice as implied by the movie. So at the very least we KNOW for a fact that the means to put them in boxes they can't escape on their own exists.

I love the concept of someone out there likely having a nightmare about unicorns... mostly because while they'd like be docile and friendly, the person has the right idea simply because unicorns are powerful (depending on which media they're from)
