If you say “kids” in a real quick story without explaining, most people will imagine someone like 12 or younger. They said it that way to give you a better idea of what the stuff is actually about. It’s more accurate as a quick reference than “kids”.
Drake is alleged to be groomin’ like 15-17 years olds, which are definitely kids, but are not the first thing that comes to mind if you say “kids”.
I hope this comment isn’t a surprise to you and you were being sarcastic or something, but the difference is real and legitimate, obviously.

Drake is like Shakespeare in the sense that he is likely not a real person and that his material actually comes from a group of writers, most of who's identities shall never be known to the world.
Kendrick is like Quentin Tarantino or Christopher Nolan mixed together with a dash of Kevin Feige from Marvel Studios. An amazing storyteller with a distinct style capable of a level of world building & interconnectivity not seen before in the industry.
